El Monito Blanco

I recently received the following email. I have also offered my services to the writer:

Hello Lon, I'm not very good with spelling so excuse me if I miss any words. I live in Edinburg, Tx and I'm staying temporarily in Mexico right across the border due to immigration issues on my wife's status. Well anyway, I'm telling you all this because when we got to my parents house my 2 year old at the time had an "imaginary" friend. By the way, the same friend every kid had that lived there in the past. The little infant's ghost is well known to people that had lived there in the past.

When I was a little kid about 2 years of age I have these remote thoughts or dreams about me playing with a kid that had a face as a skull. On Halloween my little 2 year old had a Halloween costume with a skull face that resembled that kid's face in my dreams as a child. The next day he told me and his mom that he wanted his costume to play with his friend. They were twins because he said that his little friend looked just like his costume.

The house is a big, two story building and my sister lives on the top section. She bumped into the people that were related to the first owners of that house. My sister asked her if they knew of the ghost. To her surprise the people that first lived there had a child that died of whooping cough. We knew that it was the same child. We remembered our kid telling us that the friend he played with was always sick, coughing all the time and holding one of his arms as well.

Everybody and every neighbor knew about that kid's ghost when we were young. They called him "El monito blanco" (the white monkey) since he resembled a white little puppet with a skull face. All my sisters (6 of them) saw him and are still very afraid of him. We learned this kid's name and I am now trying help this spirit to find peace. It seems to me that his spirit still wonders around. His body might have been buried on the property, under our former shower room. That was the place here my sisters use to seem him 'come out.' I believe his remains might still be there in that old shower. Back in the day people didn't have much money to bury their loved ones in a cemetery. I will find out and help him find rest! RO
