Daily 2 Cents: Time Travel is Possible -- Update...Necochea Beach Humanoid -- Haunted Queen Mary Film Project

Time Travel is Possible, Say Scientists

The subject of time travel has intrigued both scientists and science-fiction writers alike for centuries, but now scientists are suggesting that the concept is theoretically sound.

Back in September of this year, UK physicist, Professor Brian Cox, declared that time travel was certainly possible, but only to the future and not to the past.

"The central question is, can you build a time machine? The answer is yes, you can go into the future," the University of Manchester professor told the audience during a speech given at the British Science Festival. "You've got almost total freedom of movement in the future."

Professor Cox explained that time travel into the future should be achievable using Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity, where the time traveler would need to be traveling close to the speed of light in order to jump forward in time. Cox, a particle physicist, suggested that it was much less likely to achieve time travel to the past, however, and would require a wormhole it order to facilitate the leap backwards in time. Even if a wormhole was discovered or created, there is no way to tell whether humans would be able to use it to time travel. Wormholes appear to be certain "locations" in space-time, such that, if you jump in, you'll emerge at some point in the past, and they seem to comply with our current comprehension of the laws of physics.

Even if it proved to be a possibility, traveling back to the past could be risky due to the potential to disturb future events, and there are two well-known paradoxes that detail the implications of dabbling with history:

1) The first and most famous is the "grandfather paradox," in which the time traveler goes back in time and kills her grandfather. If she is successful, then how was she born?

2) Secondly, there is the "Shakespeare paradox." That is, the time traveler reads the works of Shakespeare, writes them down and brings them back in time. Shakespeare then finds the information and writes everything down. Who then wrote the works of Shakespeare?

Upcoming Thriller to Be Set on Haunted Queen Mary

Though it's been retired since 1967, ocean liner Queen Mary has been a hotbed of paranormal activity over the years, crowned one of the top 10 most haunted places in America by Time Magazine in 2008. The perfect setting for a horror flick? You bet!

As reported by Variety, Ubiquity Studios is financing development and production of its first feature film, which will be set and filmed on the infamous Queen Mary.

"We’re calling it 'The Shining on a ship'," said Ubiquity CEO Chris Carmichael, who will exec produce along with Connie Jordan. Brett Tomberlin of Ubiquity Studios will produce along with Andrew Trapani and Brian Gilbert of Nine/8 Entertainment.

The untitled project will be written by Gary Dauberman, and shooting is set to begin in the spring of 2014.

The Queen Mary first sailed in 1936 and was the Cunard Line’s flagship until being commissioned as an allied troop transport following the outbreak of World War II. It was nicknamed “The Grey Ghost” for its ability to avoid Nazi U-boats, and Adolf Hitler offered $250,000 to anyone who could sink it.

In 1942 the ocean liner jackknifed her own escort ship but was unable to rescue 239 soldiers in the escort due to the presence of U-boats. In that same year, a 95-foot wave nearly capsized the Queen Mary while 16,000 soldiers were aboard — which inspired the movie The Poseidon Adventure, which was shot on the ship in 1971. - DreadCentral

How To Get Rid Of Curses and Black Magick?

A popular question I have received over the years is the concept of Curses and Black Magick and How if you think you are effected to get rid of it? This is firstly, a great question and like I said a common one here at The Occult Blogger. This post is for all those in this situation.

Firstly what you want to do is look at yourself first and start thinking if what you are creating is first caused by your own emotional response? It may be the way you look at life, you may be on your own negative reactions to things that are simply brought on by you. While this is not always the case, reflecting can often look at ourselves in a more deeper way.

On a second note, you have to ask yourself why anyone would place a spell on you or even consider doing black Magick of any kind? The reason you need to ask this is humans are an interesting animal, we are more so caring and kind and do acts of kindness and so exposing ourselves to strong negative forces is often extremely rare. That being said another way of looking at is this is from the other side, those that wield black Magick or cast curses are the ones that get punished in the situation as well, so them casting it, means it often effects the subject less than the actual wielder. There is also no way of controlling negative thoughts or creations without the loss of oneself. This is old advice this one and it means in a nutshell that the caster that is wielding negative forces will be harmed more than the victim of any known curses or negative Black Magick.
