I recently received another possible 'Not Deer' report from the area around Canoe Creek State Park in Blair County, Pennsylvania. All 3 reports have been brief, and the sightings and encounters were quite quick.
In all 3 instances, reported between April 2023 and the present time, the female deer was described as having a 'giraffe-like neck' that was 'as long as the oversized legs.' The eyes were forward-facing and in each instance, the deer stood still and watched the witness.
The deer was seen with other female deer and fawn in each of the sightings, but it seemed to be the dominant creature in the small herd.
The movement of the deer was unremarkable, but a bit awkward because of the long neck and legs. There were no other distinguishing features reported.
I truly doubt that the same deer was seen in 3 separate instances, but I can't be positive of that statement. The sightings were all within a 5-mile radius of each other.
