"I stood there, and it seemed to stop maybe a couple of feet from the window before pressing itself against it. This big, round, bright light. I thought to myself, this thing's coming through the window."
I received the following account:
“This 'thing' happened to me when I was a little kid. I mean I had to live with it my whole life. It has affected my personality. It has affected how I deal with people. I've been alone my whole life. I think it was because of this. I'm 56 now. Still alone. I do have a daughter but, you know, the relationship didn't last long.
Anyhow, I was 9 years old living with my mom. No brothers or sisters, just living alone in an apartment building in Cleveland, Ohio. I was basically on the top floor with a balcony, about four stories high. We were right behind Case Western University. When you looked out the window, there was an alley and the frat building from Case University, basically the back of the frat building. There weren’t a whole lot of students in there. It was dark. Around nine o'clock. Just me and my mom were in there washing dishes. I think I was in there aggravating her or something. I was about 9 years old. When you walk from the kitchen into the living room, there's this big window on your right. I can remember it like it was yesterday. The curtains were open. It was dark outside. And, like I said, there was a frat building there and an alley between us.
As I was walking by, something caught my eye. I turned and looked and saw this big round white light just sitting out there, between me and the building. It was just a little lower than the window, which is about 3 or 4 stories high. I turned to look at it again. I mean, I was 9 years old. When you see something like that, you try to compare it to something familiar, you know? I couldn't figure out what it was. This was happening in a couple of milliseconds, right? As I was trying to understand what this thing was, all of a sudden, I realized I was standing in front of this window, the lights were on, and I could feel it looking back at me. Right when I got that feeling, I questioned myself, am I really feeling this? Yes, I was really feeling it because bam, here it comes, heading directly toward the window. I mean, whoosh, right up! It was probably 60 feet away, and in the blink of an eye, it was right there at the window. I stood there, and it seemed to stop maybe a couple of feet from the window before pressing itself against it. This big, round, bright light. I thought to myself, this thing's coming through the window.
Suddenly, I felt warm at my feet, and that warmth started traveling up. It went up my legs, I guess scanning me; I don't know. It moved through my groin, up through my chest, and all the way to my head. When it reached my head, bam, it was inside my head. I could feel it. It was still outside the window, but somehow it was also inside my head. It didn't communicate. I just felt two things: it was checking for a threat and seemed like it wanted to, how do you say, I don't want to say dissect, but it was looking at something like, wow, I'm going to check this out.
Anyhow, when it left my head, it went all the way back, then came forward, and bam, it was outside. This time it was at the top of the window. I remember saying, Just leave! You can see I’m not a threat, just leave! It stayed there for a minute, then went straight up and left. It moved to the side of the building and went straight up. I felt hollow, you know? It was totally negative. I had to live with this thing. I don't want to see anything like that again. People talk about how they saw this or want to see that, but if they had something like that happen to them and lived with it for 30 years or their whole life. I had to go to school and who could I tell?
I blocked most of it for 40 years. For 40 years, I thought it just came to the window and left. Then, after 40 years, someone said something, and I thought about it for a few weeks, and then bam, the memory came back. It shifted from one side of my head to the other, and I remembered the whole thing. I went to my mom, who was still washing the dishes. I went in there and screamed, but she didn't move; she just kept washing the dishes. I kept screaming. I was standing there watching her and realized my vocal cords were paralyzed. They wouldn't work. I reached up and grabbed her arm, and she started panicking because I was pure white, I guess. We called the Air Force. I mean, after I was able to talk. They asked, how old is he? Well, he probably saw a car's headlights. I want to know why it happened to me. Was it an accident or on purpose?” R
