I received the following account:
"Hi. Close to where I live, maybe 2 counties over, it turns into uninhabited forests and foothills. This is in Northwest Georgia. There has been a rumor for many years about this woman who lived in these dense foothills. She was said to be a witch or some sort of shapeshifter. She was mostly known for being a werewolf but also took the form of a black panther.
When I was a kid, my cousins lived in that area and we used to play in the woods and in those foothills. One day, there were about 5 of us kids in these deep woods and I got just a little separated from them. I walked up in the woods further and as I came around a large oak tree I saw standing about 20 feet away an enormous black panther. This cat was the size of a full-grown Labrador dog, but very muscular. It had those signature gold eyes you see in pictures and we just stood there staring directly into each other's eyes.
My uncles had always told us not to run if we ever saw a wild animal, but I immediately took off running as fast as I could. I flew past the other 4 kids who didn't question why I was running they just started running, too.
I guess it didn't chase me, but this Panther looked supernatural. It was unusually beautiful and striking. Its coat was glistening it was so shiny and it had a perfect giant cat head like you see with lions. It also didn't seem afraid and never flinched, but those eyes hypnotized me for just a moment before I ran. This was probably 35 years ago or longer and that face is etched into my memory.." H
