Daily 2 Cents: 'Devil Monkey?' -- White Bigfoot Encounter -- The 'Vadig' Entity

'Devil Monkey?'

NOTE: the following was forwarded to me a few years ago by a friend who has been collecting reports of what he describes as a 'Devil Monkey'. Of course, "chupacabras" came to mind, but these descriptions were somewhat different. In at least one instance, this creature killed and fed on dogs and cats but did not bother livestock. Could this have been an upright canine? Lon

On January 12, 2006, the witness walked into his home to find a devil-like creature confronting his 6 year old labrador dog. This creature seemed to be an unusual combination of a monkey, dog, and the devil. Suddenly, it sprang to its hind legs and ran, nearly pushing us over to get to the open door I had just come through. This creature had long fangs, monkey-like tail and extremely bright glowing eyes.

In another report, An Ohio woman driving through Roanoke, Virginia at about 2:30 a.m. reported a similar encounter in the late 1990's while driving on a dark road at night and forced to take a detour due to road construction. She had driven past a road sign that read, "Red Wolf Crossing" close to Elizabeth City when a creature, which was not a wolf, leaped in front of her car.

The creature was all black with very short sleek fur, pointy ears and had a long thin tail. She described it as catlike, and yet not like any cat she had ever seen. The snout was flatter than a dog's and more like a cat's. The creature was very tall, because she saw it when it was standing on its hind legs and was easily 6 feet tall. She indicated its torso looked very much like that of a very thin man and its head resembled a large monkey but with a pointy beard. However, the creature's hind legs were like a wild cat or dog. It was very muscular and thin.

Later, the woman checked with the US Game and Wildlife Department who told her there were no black wolves in the area, but suggested she had seen a feral dog (feral meaning "wild") or a wolf-dog hybrid. But the woman was emphatic it was not a wolf or dog.

The woman explained the creature may have been on all fours just before leaping. The creature leaped with such force and height that it only took one bound to make it across both lanes of the highway. This indicates the creature leaped more than 18 feet or 6 meters to get across the road. Dogs and wolves do not leap this far in one jump. Even larger animals such as deer usually take several bounds to leap across a road.

White Bigfoot Encounter

Location/Date: near Cache, Comanche County, Oklahoma - January 10 2005 - 8:30 pm

Near Quanah Road two witnesses were leaving their house when they decided to check out a tree in the yard which they thought they had seen something about 2 weeks prior. The tree is located about 60 yards from the house and close to the road. They drove to the tree with the bright lights on the car. As the neared the tree they saw something huge and white sitting on a branch of the tree. One witness noticed the head and shoulders. The shoulders were broad and it didn’t look like it had a neck. The other witness saw 2 legs dangling down. The legs were hairy and were moving. The head and shoulders were moving slightly back and forth like it was getting ready to jump down.

One of the witnesses screamed while the other was in shock but managed to put the car in reverse and backed out of the area as fast as possible. According to the witnesses there had been other reports of people seeing something run across the road and people have heard blood-curdling screams coming from a nearby creek. One witness description in particular stated that a tall, muscular man-like creature with long white hair on it's upper body was seen in another area of Comanche County and seemed to vanish and reappear at will.

Giant snowballs appear on Russian beach in Siberia

A strange and beautiful sight greeted locals in the Gulf of Ob, in northwest Siberia, after thousands of natural snowballs formed on the beach.

An 11-mile (18km) stretch of coast was covered in the icy spheres.

The sculptural shapes range from the size of a tennis ball to almost 1m (3ft) across.

They result from a rare environmental process where small pieces of ice form, are rolled by wind and water, and end up as giant snowballs.

Locals in the village of Nyda, which lies on the Yamal Peninsula just above the Arctic Circle, say they have never seen anything to compare to them. Read more at Giant snowballs appear on Russian beach in Siberia

The 'Vadig' Entity

Near Adelphi, Maryland in February 1968: After work Sunday, a friend dropped off Tom Monteleone at home. As the friend pulled away, a large black car with its lights out glided from the shadows and halted at the curb. The entity called Vadig then called out to Monteleone from the car. Another man was in the car. Monteleone later recalled only that he wore a gray coat, had black hair, and never spoke. Monteleone got into the car.

The car was a very old Buick, but was very well kept and looked brand new...it even smelled brand new. They drove for about 30 minutes to a remote spot on a back road. When Monteleone got out of the car he was astonished to see an egg shaped object waiting for them. Inside the object he was put into a circular room containing nothing but a couple of bucket seats and a gray TV screen. Vadig and his companion disappeared into another part of the craft.

After a few minutes the TV screen came alive, the object shuddered as Monteleone watched the image of the earth receding to a tiny speck on the screen. Three or four hours passed. It seemed like hours before another planet appeared on the screen, it grew larger, and then the craft landed with a thump. The young Monteleone found himself in a place no too unlike the Earth. He and Vadig got into a wheel less vehicle that traveled along a 'trough'. “This is Lanulos,” Vadig announced with pride in his voice.

Their vehicle traveled through a large city with low, flat buildings and signs written in some kind of Oriental looking characters. The people, male and female, were all nude. After the tour, they returned to the egg-shaped craft and took off again. Monteleone sat alone in the same circular room watching the television screen for hours. Finally they arrived back on Earth at the same place from which they had left. Monteleone, Vadig, and the silent man returned to the old Buick and drove for about 30 minutes until they reached his apartment house. “I’ll see you in time,” Vadig declared, the car drove off. To Monteleone's amazement the whole trip, including the 30-minute rides to and from the object, had taken less than two hours. - John A. Keel, The Mothman Prophecies: A True Story

A few years ago, I received the following report:

Lon:

I enjoy your Phantoms and Monsters emails, having been a long time fan of the outre, and like Mulder I want to believe --even though most of the time, I don't.

I was amused and surprised to see my name show up in a recent installment which recounted my UFO "experience" via good old John Keel.

Unfortunately the tale is untrue, and I "outed" myself several years ago in a column (The Mother And Fathers Italian Association) I write for Cemetery Dance magazine. My confession appeared in three parts in three separate issues, and was eventually collected into an omnibus volume that won a Stoker Award for non-fiction http://www.borderlandspress.com/mafia.html

I enclosed it here for your edification and maybe some enjoyment. Please forgive the intros to each installment--they kinda come with the territory of a column that only appears bi-monthly.

The sad thing is, having had close-hand experience with obvious charlatans and fools, I still want to think that some of the people reporting this strange stuff are telling the truth. It's a much more interesting world if we don't know all the answers, don't you think?

ciao bello,

Tom M.
