Daily 2 Cents: Jesus Not An Alien Says Vatican Scientist -- Connect With Your Guardian Angel -- UFO Sightings Continue Over Ft. Hood

Jesus Not An Alien Says Vatican Scientist

NASA scientists are getting closer to determining whether there is life on other planets -- and the enthusiasm about aliens has spread to the Vatican.

Nasa's Kepler mission announced last month that it had discovered an Earth-like planet in a solar system light years away that may have all the conditions necessary for the existence of intelligent beings.

News about the planet, which NASA is calling Kepler-452b, has "thrilled" researchers at the Vatican Observatory, a branch of the papacy that has been studying the stars since 1582, according to Agence France-Presse.

The Rev. José Gabriel Funes, an astronomer who directs the observatory, said he's open to the possibility of extraterrestrial life and has been for quite some time. Funes finds no contradiction between Catholic theology and the belief in aliens. He has said in the past that humans shouldn't put limits on God's creative freedom.

However, Funes draws the line at the idea of an alien Jesus.

"The discovery of intelligent life does not mean there's another Jesus," Funes told AFP. "The incarnation of the son of God is a unique event in the history of humanity, of the universe."

Funes said he also doubts whether humans will "ever meet a Mr. Spock."

Funes is likely right about that. Kepler-452b is 1,400 light years from Earth. According to NBC, it would take a space probe constructed with with current technology about 28 million years to reach the planet.

The Catholic Church hasn't shied away from confronting theories about extraterrestrial life. According to The Independent, the Vatican uses the example of the early Christians baptizing gentiles as an example of how the church would treat aliens.

Pope Francis last year took up the subject himself, saying that he'd baptize Martians, if they were willing.

If -- for example -- tomorrow an expedition of Martians came, and some of them came to us, here... Martians, right? Green, with that long nose and big ears, just like children paint them... And one says, "But I want to be baptized!" What would happen? . . .Who are we to close doors?

Guy Consolmagno, the president of the Vatican Observatory Foundation, said he often gets emails from the public about aliens. He's co-author of the book, Would You Baptize an Extraterrestrial? which seeks to answer questions about the intersection of religion and science.

Consolmagno said he's convinced that it's only a matter of time before humans discover life on other planets -- or that aliens discover us and our world of pain, injustice and disease.

There is hope, Consolmango told the Catholic News Service, that "any race advanced enough to cross the stars to visit us must also be advanced enough to show us how to overcome all those human ills." - Vatican Scientist Thinks Aliens May Exist -- But Not An Alien Jesus

Connect With Your Guardian Angel

Anybody can connect with their Guardian Angel. People often think that you have to be religious or psychic in order to make this connection. Not true. We are all born with our own Guardian Angels and they never stop surrounding us with love, support and guidance.

Angels help us stay connected with our spiritual source. We also have spirit and/or ancestral guides that help you find your way...though, in most cases, guides are more difficult to connect with. As we raise our vibration, we can more easily connect and communicate with wiser energies in the spirit realms.

Seeking an Angel's help is one of our most power spiritual practices....but you need to ask.

Here are some tips that will help you connect with your Guardian Angel:

1. Angels can do nothing for us unless we ask. No need to worry about asking for too much. Angels exist beyond our experience of time and space. Create your own affirmations that specifically call for the help you need.

2. Attune yourself with your Angel. Simple meditation may raise your awareness enough to establish contact. Ask questions...find out how they want to be addressed. Establish a routine that suits your timetable. Make it an exciting experience.

3. Have patience...but ask if you feel your question has not been answered. Learn how to interpret the answers.

4. Quickly react to the guidance you receive. Angelic help has, for the most part, a finite period of effectiveness.

5. With time and practice, you will understand which sensations mean yes, no or otherwise. Your answer may also come during meditation, or after a prolonged period of reflection. Learn how the message is given and how it should be received. Notice patterns...times when the message tend to come. Show your appreciation for the advice. Like any long-term relationship, trust and respect are imperative. Lon

The Failure of Napoleon's 'Inner Feeling'

I once read that Napoleon Bonaparte, the outstanding French military commander, was said to have the ability of clairvoyance.

The topic is highly controversial, with many historians questioning Napoleon’s psychic prowess. Others, in contrast, point to a sheaf of relevant documents, not least Napoleon’s private letters and diaries, which they say are indications of Bonaparte possessing the power of clairvoyance.

Some experts quote Napoleon as saying that since his childhood, he had always been in the know about his future, which Bonaparte attributed to what he called “something of an inner feeling.” Napoleon argued that he was allegedly able to always avoid potential political and private troubles thanks to his ability to foresee future events. The caveat, though, flies in the face of Napoleon’s move to start a war with Russia in 1812, which many maintain became the beginning of the end of Napoleon’s political career. Small doubt, given Russia’s brilliant victory over what was internationally known as the invincible Grand Army of France.

Napoleon’s clairvoyance, scholars say, seemed to let him down again during the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, when French troops were defeated by British, Dutch and Prussian forces. The defeat at Waterloo put an end to Napoleon's rule as the Emperor of France and marked the end of his Hundred Days’ return from exile. Napoleon abdicated, surrendered to the British, and was exiled to the island of Saint Helena, where he died in 1821.

As far as Napoleon' psychic abilities are concerned, they were more than once cited by his aides, who were not surprised to see him scanning people’s thoughts. Then again, their allegations run counter to the fact that Napoleon's inner circle included quite a few top military officials who subsequently did not think twice before betraying their overlord. Suffice it to mention Marshal Michel Ney, who was quick to pressure Napoleon to accept his first abdication and exile in 1814, when the Bourbons reclaimed the throne.

When hearing of Napoleon’s return to France, Ney, determined to keep France at peace and to show his loyalty to King Louis XVIII, organized a force to stop Napoleon’s march on Paris. Ney pointedly promised to bring Napoleon back alive in an iron cage, a surprise twist of mind given that it was Napoleon who previously promoted Ney to the rank of Marshal.

That Napoleon had the ability of clairvoyance is an open secret, some pundits persist, pointing to Bonaparte’s personal diary, where the island of Saint Helena was mysteriously mentioned years before Napoleon being exiled there.

Legend has it that Nostradamus, the 16th century psychic seer, predicted Napoleon’s birth and all that it implies. The prediction surprisingly proved true right down to minutiae, which contemporaries said impressed Napoleon, who obtained Nostradamus manuscript at the beginning of the 19th century. Napoleon scrupulously studied the document before putting it to the back burner. Since then, speculation has been rife that Nostradamus prediction added significantly to Napoleon’s alleged clairvoyant abilities.

In my opinion, Nostradamus' prediction of the 2nd anti-Christ brought the same fate to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. His belief in the occult and the use of psychic seers, including Nostradamus' quatrains, provided him with false aspirations which eventually lead to his demise. -

UFO Sightings Continue Over Ft. Hood

Ft. Hood, TX - 8/5/2015: First, I must apologize. I wish me and my subordinate had a specialized camera to have a close-up of this object. At the moment, we are on guard duty and noticed the object approximately 00:00. And for a duration of 75 minutes, we witnessed this object appear within an approximate 16-20 miles from our location: 31 degrees 8 minutes 38.328 seconds N 97 degrees 47 minutes 5.82 seconds W. Throughout the 75 minutes, we have guessed that the object is spinning, zig zagging across the sky, changing its color and traveling in a WNW direction slowly away from the Fort Hood Military Reservation. By the naked eye, we conclude with the fact that this object has gone far as Lampasas County (and still going). At one point during the 75 minutes, we thought that the object was heading toward our direction but did not. The lights were impressive as it was very bright. Too bright to be an aircraft. The angle of our observation was at 35-45 degrees and at the end, it was a lot lower given the distance. This observation is a continuing trend of sightings that has been going on this whole summer. - MUFON CMS
