2nd Bi-Pedal Wolf Encountered - Northwest Clearfield Co., PA

I received the following report on Tuesday. Because of a previous report, the UFORCOP / P&M Fortean Research teams have been preparing for an investigation in this area during the Fall. In light of this recent sighting & report, and for public concern, the teams will ramp up the start date:

I Saw A Werewolf

Hello - I live in a small town called Penfield in Clearfield County, PA. This encounter happened in late July of this year 2015. I was driving home from work on Boy Scout Road in Penfield. I usually stick to the main roads when driving home but sometimes take back roads to take in the scenery. As I was coming around a bend I saw a large brownish-tan creature crouching on the side of the road. I slowed down to get a better look, that's when it turned its head towards my vehicle. It had a large head and yellowish glow to its eyes and a long nose. I couldn't believe what I was looking at. It was eating road kill, I believe a deer.

At this point I slammed my foot into the gas pedal and didn't let off the gas until I reached my home. I then jumped out of my car ran into my house and locked my doors. I grabbed my rifle from my closet and loaded it. I then went into my basement and took out a silver letter opener that I had gotten after my grandfather passed away.

I haven't seen anything since. But I would like to add that about a month prior to this I was at the local Minit Mart getting gas. A Game Commission officer pulled up to the next pump. Attach to his truck was a trailer, and in that trailer was an elk. A lot of elks have radio collars and when one dies its the Game Commission's job to figure out how it died and to take samples. I asked the man what had happen to it (it was a young elk maybe 2-3 years at most) it looked fine to me except for the fact that it throat was slit. He told me he had no clue and that when they found it, the collar it had been wearing was about 10 ft away. He said at first they thought it was a bear as its the only animal around here large enough to take down a bull elk. But there was no evidence indicating it was a bear. Plus, he told me, the cut on its throat was too clean. After that conversation I didn't think too much of it until I saw that thing that night.

I'm a very facts based person and I don't hold any personal beliefs as far as supernatural things are concerned. But since that night I don't know what to think anymore. The reason I'm writing this to you is because I saw that back in November you wrote about a man on State Game Lands 331 seeing a similar creature. I lived in this town my whole life and spent more time in the woods than any place else. I've seen all the animals around here and I can tell you this thing was not natural. J

I contacted the witness right away, but he couldn't add any further information, though the entity was determined to be bi-pedal since it crouched on two legs. I did get the impression that he was very shook up by the sighting...and seriously contemplated whether to report it. He stated that the sighting took place on Boy Scout Rd...though, I believe this road is actually named Mountain Run Rd. and runs by Camp Mountain Run, which is a Boy Scout campground. I hope I can get further details soon.

UPDATE: The location of the sighting was indeed Mountain Run Rd at Finley Hollow according to the witness. Here is a image of the location:

The previous sighting mentioned by the witness is detailed below:

On Friday November 7th, I received information from Butch Witkowski of the UFO Research Center of Pennsylvania in reference to a cryptid sighting report he had just obtained.

The witness (wishes to remain anonymous presently) stated that he was in the north edge of the State Game Lands 331 (Clearfield Co., PA just south of Penfield) between 10-11 AM on 11/7/2014. He was walking his two Weimaraner dogs when an unknown bi-pedal creature stepped out of the brush.

Description: 8 foot to 10 foot tall. Weight unknown. Large stride. Short hair. Dark colored most likely brown but very dark. Thought that it may be a Bigfoot but had a prominent 'snout' like a canine.

The witness said it took all his strength to hold on to the dogs. The creature never reacted to the dogs barking...stared straight ahead and continued to quickly walk away into the forest.

One of the UFORCOP researchers added the following information after the report was forwarded out to the team:

...did some research on the Dogman. I was unaware that they do walk upright. But a did find something that doesn't match our description. They are usually German Shepard-like in color. Meaning they are two or three tones of fur color. Most descriptions are that they are 7ft. tall and very aggressive. So that leaves out Dogman in my mind. Here is an interesting thought, Ottawa and Chippewa natives believe they are Skinwalkers stuck between two worlds. That would make more sense being it wasn't aggressive. Maybe a shapeshifter if you believe in such things. I know the natives do.

Chinklacamoose native village (now Clearfield) were Lenni Lenape. I know the Lenape didn't have a Skinwalker, but some tribes had an Witiko...similar to the Windigo. Seneca Indians, whom also would have been in that area, believed in the Windigo as well. Legend has it if a Windigo was spotted by someone it is a death omen.

Most accounts of the Windigo has it at 15 ft tall. The Lenape also talk of a evil spirit called the Misinghalikun...meaning Living Solid Face. Had skin of a bear, a large face. He was the guardian of all animals of the forest.

The witness and others returned to the location the next day (Saturday November 8th). They found the exact area where the dogs had dug into the ground attempting to chase the creature. The group had a very uneasy feeling and quickly left.

NOTE: I found that the Misinghalikun was a sacred mask being of the Lenni Lenape, or Delaware, people whose origin and practice varied among the different tribal divisions. The Unami defined Misinghalikun as "living mask" or "living solid face" For them, its spiritual purpose included serving as guardian of the animals, a role it received from the Creator. Misinghalikun was embodied in a wooden mask, half red and half black which was ritually cared for by a keeper. He appeared in bearskin clothing and could sometimes be seen riding on a buck, herding deer. Among the Unami, Misinghalikun had a spring ceremony and also participated in the Big House Ceremony. Some people believed that the Jersey Devil of the Pine Barrens in New Jersey may have been a Misinghalikun. I plan to continue researching this sighting along with other groups in Pennsylvania...Lon
