Live... Die... and Live Again - Part 1

By Stephen Ellis - What really happens when our bodies give out to disease, catastrophe or old age? Is that the end of everything? Is that the end of consciousness? Do we go to Heaven or Hell? Does our “Eternal Soul” somehow carry on? Do we come back as ghosts? Or, are we destined to return to the Earth in a different form or body?

These questions have been asked since the beginning of time. Great religions of the world have been based on theoretical answers to these questions. But, what is the truth…the reality of life and death? I’m a (subordinate) Judicial Officer of the Court and not someone likely to espouse far-out theories. I am “fact” oriented.

Lon Strickler, your host of Phantoms and Monsters, has published numerous stories of ghosts, reincarnation, etc. He is dedicated to seeking the truth about unexplained things. I, too, am dedicated to the same things. For more than 30 years I have been researching the paranormal ever since I had a scientifically inexplicable event happen to me.

It is fair to say that I have proven, with almost unequivocal empirical proof, that our death, here on Earth, is not the end of everything for us. I can’t tell you, in detail, what will happen to you, because we are all individuals with individual thoughts, independent minds, etc. I am convinced that what happens after our body dies is slightly different for every individual and that we all do not continue an existence in the same way. It does not appear that our religious beliefs have anything to do with the science of re-birth.

Some of the world’s most famous scientists (including Albert Einstein) separated themselves from religious teachings as they delved further into the sciences of physics and quantum mechanics. Currently, Dr. Robert Lanza (voted the 3rd most important scientist alive by the NY Times) has formulated the theory of “Biocentrism” which, in essence, states that the Universe did not create peope….it is people that created the Universe: Our consciousness created the material universe, not the other way around.

Biocentrism teaches that life and consciousness are fundamental to the universe. The theory implies that death of consciousness only exists as a thought because people identify themselves with their body. They believe that when their body dies, their consciousness will disappear too.

All scientists will agree that each human body is surrounded by an electro-magnetic “aura” that is distinguishable from all other “auras” that surround other people. This “aura” can actually be photographed using infra-red film. The interesting thing is that when someone dies...their “aura” does not! Scientific photographers have actually photographed the “aura” of a dying man: the “aura” stayed in place for several minutes, then separated itself from the dead body and seemed to float upwards…and through the ceiling of the room.

Is this “aura” actually, our consciousness or as we call it, our “mind”. If so, this, alone, proves that our physical body is little more than a shell surrounding our mind. When the “shell” dies (for whatever reason) very strong evidence indicates that the mind continues to live.

Many of you will question the last statement, but in future parts, I will prove the statement to be scientifically or empirically true using many cases whose authenticity is beyond question.

Most of us have been taught that our mind is a part of our brain. Scientists have been trying, for centuries, to locate the mind as part of our brain or body. They have never been successful. This tends to support the belief that the mind is separate and distinct from the body: the body is physical, the mind is not. The voice we hear in our heads when we think is simply our own voice translating our mind’s function into a language we understand.

Our mind and our bodies are frequently at odds with each other. You may believe something is wrong or dangerous, ”…but it feels so good.” The mind does not always win the battles with our bodies, and that’s what makes our physical life so exciting and also explains why we almost always seek the reassurance of someone that any decision we made was the right one to make.

But if the mind or consciousness continues to exist after our body has ceased to function, where does that consciousness go? There is significant evidence that our consciousness makes a choice as to where it will go.

If you are interested in the subject, I suggest you read my book, “Explaining the Unexplained”. You can download a Kindle of it for about $3.00. Hard and soft-cover copies are available at Barnes & Nobel and at Amazon.
