'Yowie' Activity Seems to be Increasing

There have been a number of recent 'yowie' sightings in Queensland lately...especially in and around the Toowoomba area:

The Himalayan Yeti, the North American Sasquatch, the Yowie or simply 'Bigfoot'.

We’ve all heard of them, but whether you’re a believer or not could be an entirely different story.

A Queensland woman claims to have spotted the mythical Australian Yowie while hiking in the Darling Downs mountain ranges near Toowoomba.

In an interview posted to the Yowie Hunters YouTube channel, the woman claims she was just six-metres away from the mythical beast.

"It was probably around seven foot tall, it had a head like a gorilla and long arms, I couldn't see it from the waist down because it was walking through the long grass," she said.

The bushwalker said the creature sat down in the long grass and ignored her. She tried to get it to turnaround but was careful not to aggravate it.

She likened the creatures’ size to gorilla, describing it to have “big, broad shoulders”.

And is she a believer?

“I thought I was going mad, really,” she said. - Bushwalker claims to have spotted mythical creature

Here is more information from the past year:

'I was nearly killed by a Yowie... twice!'

Yowie researcher Dean Harrison insists he has nearly been killed twice by the mysterious hairy creature.

So when the QT continued our hunt for evidence of the elusive beast in the Ipswich area it was worth having a chat to the man who has had numerous yowie encounters, and interviewed the witness to the sighting of the Mulgowie Yowie back on August 15, 2001.

Harrison, who runs the Australian Yowie Research website, has been searching for yowies for over 20 years.

He has provided a recorded interview with a certain Steve Doyle, who on September 22, 2013 was driving with his wife on the Laidley-Rosewood Rd at dusk when he got one hell of a fright.

"I glanced to the side of the road and it was my height...five foot four. It just looked like a person standing on the side of the road," Doyle revealed.

"It would have been about 15m away from us at that stage…and as I looked across it was running back into the scrub on all fours (after it was) standing up. Read more at 'I was nearly killed by a Yowie... twice!'

The Australian Yowie Project has released the following image and information:

We have finally obtained permission to release this photo sent to us by two witnesses in Far North Queensland. For Cultural and Security reasons they have asked for the precise location and identities to be wit-held. In October 2014, two men observed this 'being' from long range walking towards them. They thought it was workman in overalls and decided to wait for him to get closer. It wasn't until it got closer that they realized what they saw and took this picture on their phone before quickly leaving the area.

The description was 8-9ft tall, covered in jet black hair, large stomach and muscular neck and shoulders walking like a man. They observed it (when this picture was taken) from a distance of 70-80 meters away.

Please note, we did not take this picture and the validity of the witnesses have been checked to the best of our ability and believe their story to be 100% genuine - we would love to know what you think?
