Daily 2 Cents: Bigfoot Chases Car / Floating 'Black House' -- Family Under Siege By Aliens -- Did the Alcatraz Escapees Actually Survive?

Bigfoot Chases Car / Floating 'Black House'

1970s – Tuscon, Arizona

Susan from Tuscon, Arizona called in to tell of a pair of strange things that happened to her in the 1970s in Tuscon, Arizona.

“I actually have a story that happened in the 70s. I was a teenager. There is really two parts to the story. What happened was, I was coming home in a car with my boyfriend and it was late at night, we were coming home from a party and we were on a country road that was very very deserted – all cattails and shrubs by a lake, on the backside of a lake. There were a couple of farms out there but nothing on the stretch of road we were on. And there were a lot of bends in the road so we couldn't go too fast. We came around a sharp bend in the road and standing right there was this huge creature, about 8 feet tall, hairy. I did not know what a Bigfoot was then. I did not know what to make of it. I thought it was part human and part ape and then I thought maybe it was somebody in a costume or something. I was so frightened. I remember my boyfriend saying 'Lock the doors! Lock the doors!' We had these manual locks and I was able to quickly lock my door but I couldn't turn around, I was too scared to turn around and lock that backseat door. I was just frozen and this creature, we were going around 45, because you couldn't go too fast around these curves, and this creature was right next to my window running at that speed, keeping up with the car, trying to open the door. He couldn't open the door and finally that road straightened out. We were able to accelerate and were able to lose him then. When we accelerated, we just tore out of there. We were both so frightened. It was like a nightmare. Something I’ll never forget.

When we got home, I was sharing that story with my family and my sister was like, 'It's a Bigfoot! It's a Bigfoot!' I never even thought of a Bigfoot. I just thought, What is this thing? It just came out of the woods and started racing after the car. So then, a couple months later, my father had horses and we were baling hay on a different property and the same guy that I was with, we were stacking all the bails. We were in an upper field while my father and brothers and sisters were in a lower field from us. We were stacking up all the hay bails so that when the wagon came back, he would only have to make one stop for al the balers that fell off the bale. So I was stacking a bale and I remember that it was a big moonlit night. We could see everything and I turned around and I put the bale next to the pile and I was standing right next to my boyfriend and I turned around there's this big, black... it looked like a house. It really did, it looked like a big black, opaque house floating in the air coming towards us... very very slowly but steadily coming at us. Not a sound – nothing. And I could see from the moonlight, I could see the size of it. You could clearly see – it looked like a big, black two story house moving towards us about 40-50 feet away. I said, 'What is that?' And he said, 'I don't know.' He grabbed my hand and we ran. We ran so fast... we ran down the hill and told everybody what happened. I wonder if that was an ET – that big black thing, he was about 8 feet, if he was related to that black object we saw coming slowly towards us. It was really strange. It was like something was trying to get us. That's the feeling I had, that somebody was trying to get us.”

Connie Willis, the host, asked if she saw the creature's eyes.

“I was too afraid, when we first approached and came in contact with him, when the car slowed down on the curb right next to him, when he was standing there, then it was eye to eye. After that, it was just a race to get out of there and I was too scared, I couldn't even lock that back door. He was right next to the car, running a couple of feet from the car trying to get to the door handle and Matt said, 'We gotta get outta here, this is horrible!' You never think you're going to see something like that in this area at night.”

'Maze Runner' cast accused of stealing Native American artifacts

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Representatives from 20th Century Fox are trying to determine if actors took American Indian artifacts while filming "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" at a private New Mexico ranch.

Diamond Tail Ranch manager Roch Hart told The Associated Press that following comments by the film's star, Dylan O'Brien, the studio is investigating claims the cast took artifacts and will seek to return any stolen items.

"They want to make it right," Hart said. "Right now, we don't know if anything was removed, but we are taking the claims very seriously."

Chris Petrikin, a spokesman for 20th Century Fox, confirmed Tuesday that the studio was looking the matter.

"Twentieth Century Fox and The Scorch Trials production team take these issues very seriously and we are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter," Petrikin said in a statement. "If any artifacts were mishandled or removed from the location, we will do everything to ensure they are restored."

During an appearance on "Live with Kelly and Michael" last month, O'Brien said cast members took artifacts from the private ranch north of Albuquerque, despite warnings not to do so.

"They gave us this big speech when we got there to shoot, and they said, 'Don't take anything. Respect the grounds'," O'Brien said. "They were very strict about littering and don't take any artifacts like rocks, skulls ... anything like that. And everyone just takes stuff, you know, obviously."

O'Brien, 24, didn't say what was taken, but he said later illnesses were blamed on the artifacts that were removed from the ranch. O'Brien said he also got sick, but it was unclear if he also admitted stealing any items.

A representative for O'Brien did not immediately return an email from the AP.

New Mexico Film Office director Nick Maniatis said his agency would work with 20th Century Fox on the investigation.

"If artifacts were taken, we believe they should be returned immediately. Twentieth Century Fox has been extremely cooperative and shares the Film Office's concern and sensitivity toward the matter," Maniatis said.

Diamond Tail Ranch, which sits between the Sandia and San Felipe pueblos, is near the historic Hispanic village of Placitas and an abandoned mining community. Jeep tours of the area bring tourists to the mountainous region where artifacts and petroglyphs can be spotted up close.

Hart said the ranch had been open for filming but had imposed strict rules.

"We charge $10 per cigarette butt," Hart said. "And if cast members were caught stealing anything, they were kicked off the property. We didn't care if you were in the film or not."

Hart said 20th Century Fox officials told the ranch they want to find out if items were actually stolen or if O'Brien was embellishing a tale during his "Live with Kelly and Michael" appearance.

Maxine McBrinn, curator of Archaeology for the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture in Santa Fe, said it's illegal to take American Indian artifacts from public land, but not private land.

"Regardless, it's disrespectful," McBrinn said. "When you remove an item, you destroy the archaeological information in the contexts it provides. You have done damage to the information." - 'Maze Runner' cast accused of stealing Native American artifacts; Fox investigating

Did the Alcatraz escapees actually survive?

New evidence suggests that the men who escaped the infamous prison 50 years ago did make it to safety.

Long thought to have been inescapable, the Alcatraz prison in San Francisco Bay was once the scene of a daring escape plan that went on to spawn a mystery that has spanned five decades.

The men involved in the escape were bank robbers Clarence Anglin, John Anglin and Frank Morris who in 1962 succeeded in pulling off one of the most audacious escape plans ever conceived.

To escape their cells the men spent six months painstakingly digging a tunnel out of the concrete using sharpened spoons. To keep the guards off their backs on the night of their escape they fashioned dummy heads from soap, paper and hair to place in their beds.

Once they managed to reach the water's edge the men then put together an inflatable raft made from raincoats and set off in to the fast-flowing water in an effort to reach safety. All three of them however disappeared that night and their fate has remained a mystery ever since.

Now however new evidence has emerged suggesting that at least two of the men had actually managed to make it to safety that night. Of particular interest is a new photograph which shows brothers John and Clarence Anglin in Brazil in 1975 - 13 years after their escape from Alcatraz.

The image was reportedly taken by Fred Brizzi, a friend of the Anglin family, before eventually making its way to Art Roderick, the US Marshall who investigated the case back in the 1960s.

A forensic analysis of the image suggested that it is "highly likely" to be the real deal.

"When you work these types of cases, there’s a feeling you get when stuff starts to fall into place," said Roderick. "I’m getting this feeling now.” - Did the Alcatraz escapees actually survive?
