A Story of Hope

I received the following narrative from a reader:

The pictures I am sending you and the story I am sharing with you are mine. This horrible story happened to me and my family in November of 2005. My sister used to call me every night and we would talk...some times for long periods about all kinds of things, our day, dreams for the future, etc. She called me the night of 11/01/05 and we did not talk more than 10 minutes as we were both busy. I simply thought we would talk longer the next night.

I was at work on the afternoon of 11/02/05 when I got a phone call from the Sheriff’s office where my sister, Liz worked. I worked in one county and she worked in the county we both lived in. The officer on the phone told me my sister was found unconscious and she was taken by ambulance to the hospital. I immediately called my mother and told her that I was going to the hospital since it was near where I worked. My mother was recovering from a bout of pneumonia and decided to stay home. We both thought my sister had another asthma attack and that she would be alright. I went to the hospital.

The doctor in the emergency room had removed an asthma inhaler form my sisters hand and gave it to me. He told me that the inhaler was a dangerous product and that it stopped my sister’s heart. He also said he was very concerned because she had not woken up. He said that most people wake up and ask what happened to them after their heart stops. He said he was moving her to ICU and we needed to give her time. I removed an angel pin form the lapel of her shirt. I also removed three necklaces with angels on them from her neck while we were in the ER. By the time she was moved to her ICU room it was very late and I was exhausted. My sister was already in the room when I arrived and a nurse came in right after. She wrote her name “Charlotte” on the board and I felt comforted by that because that is my mother's and my daughter’s name. “Charlotte” was setting up monitors and putting blankets on my sister. She told me flat out that my sister would not recover from this incident, she said there is no way. She was kind, but frank and I would come to appreciate her honesty as time went on. I finally went home to get some sleep and I dreaded having to tell my mother in the morning about the situation. We would spend 2 weeks at the hospital with my sister. I never saw Nurse Charlotte, again.

The next 2 weeks were grueling because my mother and I spent all day at the hospital while all kinds of testing were going on. Then we would head to my sister’s house to take care of her animals. I was also going through her financial papers because her mortgage, car, and utilities still had to be paid. Finally the doctors delivered the bad news that while her heart had been stopped her brain had been deprived of oxygen and most of it was dead. The only portion of her brain that was still functioning and the reason they could not declare her brain dead was because she had just a small portion of the brain that controls breathing still functioning. After much discussion and soul searching my mother and I agreed to longer maintain her body by machines and let her go.

Our visits to the hospital became a death watch. We prayed for her, asked her forgiveness, and hoped we were making the right decision. After long days at the hospital we would now go to her house and began dismantling everything. We gave her clothes and food in the house to Salvation Army. My sister did not have a lot of cash, so after the November payment my mother and I took turns making the payments on the house. In the moments when I was not so busy and overwhelmed I asked again and again if this was the right thing to do. My sister passed away 11/17/2005 at 11:30 pm, she was only 44.

We had the funeral the next week. We had a small Christmas in December and I was frantically trying to empty her house so I could get it on the market for sale. What I did not sell I had the movers bring my sisters things to my house. I painted her house and had the carpet replaced and it sold in March of 2006.

In early January of 2006 I was not working at my sister’s house anymore because it was ready and on the market. I had several of her things in my house and one of them was a matte finish painting she had over sofa in her living room. It was large and I had the movers lean it up against the wall in my hallway. I already had a picture hanging there that had a glass covering. My intent was to hang my sisters painting over my sofa, but I wanted to paint the room to match first. My neighbor came over on the morning of January 10, 2006 and she took several pictures of the room and hall way so she could help me decorate the room tastefully. She and I saw nothing out of the ordinary while she was taking the pictures with her digital camera.

However, the next day she contacted me at work and she was hysterical and kept asking me if there was an angel in my sister’s painting? I said no, I did not think so. My sister collected angels and I have several that I retrieved from her home, but there was not one in the picture. The photos I have sent to you are two views of the same thing----a bright white light or energy in the shape of an angel. The first one is a picture my neighbor took down the hall way-----you can see the light, but may not really know what it is. The second photo was standing directly in front of the picture and the Angel is very clear in the same corner of the picture. I still have this particular painting and the amazing thing is that the trees in the painting go way up and are very solid, but they cannot be seen because of the Angel.
Was this my sister? Or was it something else to let me know that I did the right thing? I do not know. However, if I ever begin to doubt that there is more after this world then I have a solid tangible picture from my sister that there is indeed more.

Lydia R.

Shock! Mass Murder In Connecticut Elementary School

Absolutely sickening! This tragedy has taken my will to post anything further today. Hug your kids, family and friends...and reflect upon those unfortunate souls and their families.

A lone gunman killed 26 people at an elementary school here, including 18 children, in a terrifying early Friday morning shooting spree.

The Associated Press and local media reported the shooter, an unidentified adult male, was also dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School. A second person was in custody. Two handguns were recovered at the scene. Mayor Mark Boughton said several victims had been taken to local hospitals.

Groups of students — some crying, some holding hands — were being escorted away from the school by their teachers. Some witnesses reported of up to 100 shots.

The incident is the latest in a series mass shootings in the U.S. this year, including Tuesday's assault by a lone gunman at a Portland, Ore., shopping mall that left two dead and one wounded.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Homeland Security adviser John Brennan informed President Obama of the shooting at 10:30 a.m. "The president is receiving regular updates as more information becomes available," Carney said. Carney said Obama would comment when more details were known.

Sandy Hook is in a residential, wooded neighborhood about 60 miles northeast of New York City. It has 39 teachers and about 650 students. A reverse 911 call went out to parents warning of an incident. Parents were being reunited with children. But, NBC Connecticut reported, police were searching the area behind the school with guns drawn.

Terese Lestik was relieved to find her 5-year-old daughter, Eva, unharmed.

"I heard a boom-boom,'' Eva said of the gunshots she heard earlier.

"I'm horrified,'' said Terese Lestik. "I just pray for whoever is hurt."

Alexis Wasik, a third-grader at the school, said police were checking everybody inside the school before they were escorted to the firehouse. She said she heard shots and saw her former nursery school teacher being taken out of the building on a stretcher, but didn't know if the woman had been shot.

"We had to walk with a partner," said Wasik, 8. One child leaving the school said that there was shattered glass everywhere. A police officer ran into the classroom and told them to run outside and keep going until the reach the firehouse, The Hartford Courant reported.

Dozens of state troopers were on the scene assisting local police. Heavily armed police gathered in front of the school around 10:45 a.m., and a number of stretchers were set up.

The school superintendent's office says the district had locked down schools as a preventive measure to ensure the safety of students and staff. State police spokesman Lt. Paul Vance says they have a number of personnel on the scene to assist.

Just the Facts?: Neon Green Ringed UFO -- Mystery Animal Attacks In Kentucky -- Alien Film Props For Sale

Disc UFO with neon green ring

Folsom, CA - 12/12/12 - unedited: My name is [Name removed/cms/tg]. Today is the 12th of December 2012. The approximate time of the sighting was 9:50 p.m. PST. The location was [Address removed/cms/tg]. And I was on Oak Avenue, almost exactly half way between Santa Juanita Avenue and American River Canyon Drive. I have no photo proof of this incident, beings as it happened so fast, but I am going to draw what I saw with pencil and paper and hopefully be able to accurately depict the object in question.

On my way home from Ts house like a usual night. Turn out of her gated community and drove to the first stop sign. Took the normal left towards Oak Avenue like always. At the stop sign to turn left onto Oak, I waited for the only other car on the road to go before I proceeded to turn left. I was just passing by the Vic’s supermarket, about half way between the stop sign and the stop light just up the road, when my car started to act up. At first I thought my car was going to die because the battery was failing or something. The dashboard lights started to dim out and come in and out. Also my radio, which at the time was playing my iPod music not using any Radio station signal or anything, started going in and out. The volume went down and up and the dashboard lights went dim and then normal, and then dim again and then normal. And then I just happen to see it out of the corner of my eye. I looked up as fast as I could, still driving down the road, at what looked like a flying saucer. All I could make out was a slightly darker circle in the night sky (around 9:50 p.m.) with a bright, neon-green ring coming from it. Inside the bright, green ring was another light, a decently sized white circle light in the very center of the ring. The ring and the light inside it flew across the sky faster than I have ever seen any plane go across which makes me think one of two things… One, it was pretty close to the ground when it flew across the sky. Which it appeared to be that way with how bright the lights were and how clear it was for me to actually see it anyways. It seemed so close with how much the lights lit the sky up… Or two, it wasn’t that close to the ground, but it was going extremely fast. Which again, I have never seen any plane at a good distance away go this fast across an open sky.

My thoughts are it was just really close to the ground. It was only in the sky for about 5 maybe 6 seconds before it was gone out of sight behind trees and the roof to the supermarket. After the circle was gone and out of sight, my dashboard lights and my radio worked perfectly fine. It was almost like whatever the green circle was, it was interfering with my car’s electronics. I’m not sure what it was or what it was doing. All I know is it scared the s**t out of me. - MUFON CMS

Mystery animal attacks livestock in Shelby Co., Kentucky

A mystery in Shelby County has people on high alert.

Something is on the prowl, attacking animals and leaving them for dead.

People say a creature attacked six goats -- five of which had to be put down -- and four calves in the past couple weeks.

Rusty Newton, Deputy County Judge Executive, says, "It's not doing it to kill the animal to eat, these animals are just being mauled. That's where the mystery is at this point."

Neighbors say it lurks in the woods, and only comes out at night.

No one has seen the creature, but people are on the lookout. A couple found what they believe are tracks from the animal.

Frank Edwards lives in the area. He says, "We've got trail cameras out, we've got traps out it's like it's smarter than we are."

County officials are holding a meeting Monday night at 6:30 in Waddy to inform neighbors. - WDRB

Woman tried to smuggle cocaine in breast implants

A drugs mule was stopped by airport border police as she tried to smuggle cocaine in BREAST IMPLANTS.

Spanish authorities said they arrested the Panamanian woman as she walked through customs at Barcelona airport.

She had 1.38 kilograms (3 pounds) of cocaine concealed in her new breast implants.

Border police stopped her after noticing fresh scars and blood-stained gauze on her chest, as well as pale patches beneath her skin.

The woman said she had recently had breast implant surgery.

Police were apparently suspicious and sent her to a local hospital where the implants were removed and found to contain cocaine.

The woman arrived in Spain from Bogota, Colombia.

European authorities routinely submit passengers arriving from Latin America to stringent checks to combat drug smuggling. - Mirror

The Saint's Satanist

Gilles de Montmorency-Laval (1404–1440), Baron de Rais, was a Breton knight, a leader in the French army and a companion-in-arms of Joan of Arc. He is best known as a prolific serial killer of children. His name was later connected with the story of Bluebeard.

At an early age Rais distinguished himself militarily, fighting first in the wars of succession to the duchy of Brittany (1420) and then for the duchess of Anjou against the English in 1427. He was assigned to Joan of Arc’s guard and fought several battles at her side, including the relief of Orléans in 1429. He accompanied her to Reims for the consecration of Charles VII, who made him marshal of France. He continued to serve in Joan of Arc’s special guard and was at her side when Paris was attacked. After her capture, he retired to his lands in Brittany.

Rais had inherited extensive domains from both his father and his maternal grandfather (Guy de Laval and Jean de Craon, respectively) and had also married a rich heiress, Catherine de Thouars (1420). He kept a more lavish court than the king, dissipating his wealth on the decoration of his châteaux and the maintenance of a large train of servants, heralds, and priests. He was a munificent patron of music, literature, and pageants, in one of which he figured (The Mystery of Orléans). When his family secured a decree from the king in July 1435, restraining him from selling or mortgaging the rest of his lands, he turned to alchemy. He also developed an interest in Satanism, hoping to gain knowledge, power, and riches by invoking the devil. He was later accused of having abducted, tortured, and murdered more than 140 children.

Rais was arrested in September 1440 and brought to trial in Nantes, first before an ecclesiastical tribunal under the direction of the bishop of Nantes and then before a civil court. At first he refused to plead to the charges, but, when threatened with excommunication, he recognized the court’s authority and declared himself not guilty.

In 1438, according to testimony at his trial from the priest Eustache Blanchet and the cleric François Prelati, de Rais sent out Blanchet to seek individuals who know alchemy and demon summoning. Blanchet contacted Prelati in Florence and convinced him to take service with his master. Having reviewed the magical books of Prelati and a traveling Breton, de Rais chose to initiate experiments, the first being in the lower hall of his castle at Tiffauges, to summon a demon named Barron. de Rais provided a contract with the demon for riches that Prelati was to give to the demon at a later time. As no demon manifested after three tries, the Marshal grew frustrated with the lack of results. Prelati responded the demon summoned, named Barron, was angry and required the offering of parts of a child. de Rais provided these remnants in a glass vessel at a future invocation. All of this was to no avail, and the occult experiments left him bitter and with a severely depleted wealth.

In his confession, Gilles maintained the first assaults on children occurred between spring 1432 and spring 1433. The first murders occurred at Champtocé-sur-Loire; however, no account of these murders survives. Shortly after, Gilles moved to Machecoul where, as the record of his confession states, he killed, or ordered to be killed, a great but uncertain number of children after he sodomized them. Forty bodies were discovered in Machecoul in 1437.

The first documented case of child-snatching and murder concerns a boy of 12 called Jeudon, an apprentice to the furrier Guillaume Hilairet. Gilles de Rais' cousins, Gilles de Sillé and Roger de Briqueville, asked the furrier to lend them the boy to take a message to Machecoul, and, when Jeudon did not return, the two noblemen told the inquiring furrier that they were ignorant of the boy's whereabouts and suggested he had been carried off by thieves at Tiffauges to be made into a page. In Gilles de Rais' trial, the events were testified to by Hillairet and his wife, Jean Jeudon and his wife, and five others from Machecoul.

In his 1971 biography of Gilles de Rais, Jean Benedetti tells how the children who fell into Rais's hands were put to death:

[The boy] was pampered and dressed in better clothes than he had ever known. The evening began with a large meal and heavy drinking, particularly hippocras, which acted as a stimulant. The boy was then taken to an upper room to which only Gilles and his immediate circle were admitted. There he was confronted with the true nature of his situation. The shock thus produced on the boy was an initial source of pleasure for Gilles.

Gilles' bodyservant Étienne Corrillaut, known as Poitou, was an accomplice in many of the crimes and testified that his master hung his victims with ropes from a hook to prevent the child from crying out, then masturbated upon the child's belly or thighs. Taking the victim down, Rais comforted the child and assured him he only wanted to play with him. Gilles then either killed the child himself or had the child killed by his cousin Gilles de Sillé, Poitou or another bodyservant called Henriet. The victims were killed by decapitation, cutting of their throats, dismemberment, or breaking of their necks with a stick. A short, thick, double-edged sword called a braquemard was kept at hand for the murders. Poitou further testified that Rais sometimes abused the victims (whether boys or girls) before wounding them and at other times after the victim had been slashed in the throat or decapitated. According to Poitou, Rais disdained the victim's sexual organs, and took "infinitely more pleasure in debauching himself in this manner ... than in using their natural orifice, in the normal manner."

In his own confession, Gilles testified that “when the said children were dead, he kissed them and those who had the most handsome limbs and heads he held up to admire them, and had their bodies cruelly cut open and took delight at the sight of their inner organs; and very often when the children were dying he sat on their stomachs and took pleasure in seeing them die and laughed”.

Poitou testified that he and Henriet burned the bodies in the fireplace in Gilles' room. The clothes of the victim were placed into the fire piece by piece so they burned slowly and the smell was minimized. The ashes were then thrown into the cesspit, the moat, or other hiding places.

On 15 May 1440, Rais kidnapped a cleric during a dispute at the Church of Saint-Étienne-de-Mer-Morte. The act prompted an investigation by the Bishop of Nantes, during which evidence of Gilles' crimes was uncovered. On July 29, the Bishop released his findings, and subsequently obtained the prosecutorial cooperation of Rais's former protector, Jean V, the Duke of Brittany. Rais and his bodyservants Poitou and Henriet were arrested on 15 September 1440 following a secular investigation which paralleled the findings of the investigation from the Bishop of Nantes. Rais's prosecution would likewise be conducted by both secular and ecclesiastical courts, on charges which included murder, sodomy, and heresy.

The extensive witness testimony convinced the judges that there were adequate grounds for establishing the guilt of the accused. After Rais admitted to the charges on 21 October, the court canceled a plan to torture him into confessing. Peasants of the neighboring villages had earlier begun to offer up accusations that since their children had entered Gilles' castle begging for food they had never been seen again. The transcript, which included testimony from the parents of many of these missing children as well as graphic descriptions of the murders provided by Gilles' accomplices, was said to be so lurid that the judges ordered the worst portions to be stricken from the record.

The precise number of Gilles' victims is not known, as most of the bodies were burned or buried. The number of murders is generally placed between 80 and 200; a few have conjectured numbers upwards of 600. The victims ranged in age from six to eighteen and included both sexes.

On 23 October 1440, the secular court heard the confessions of Poitou and Henriet and condemned them both to death followed by Gilles' death sentence on 25 October. Gilles was allowed to make confession and his request to be buried in the church of the monastery of Notre-Dame des Carmes in Nantes was granted.

Execution by hanging and burning was set for Wednesday 26 October. At nine o‘clock, Gilles and his two accomplices made their way in procession to the place of execution on the Ile de Biesse. There, Gilles addressed the throng of onlookers with contrite piety, and exhorted Henriet and Poitou to die bravely and think only of salvation. Gilles' request to be the first to die had been granted the day before. At eleven o'clock the brush at the platform was set afire and Rais was hanged on a gibbet above a pyre, but when the fire burned through the rope the body was snatched from the flames by several ladies of his family, who prepared it for burial with their own hands, and it was then interred in the Carmelite church close by. His two associates were also hanged, their bodies being burned and the ashes scattered.

On the spot where Gilles was executed his daughter erected a monument, to which came all nursing mothers to pray for an abundance of milk. Here again is a strong suggestion that he was regarded as the Incarnate God of fertility. Another suggestive fact is the length of time - nine years - which elapsed between the death of Joan and the death of Gilles. This is a usual interval when the Incarnate God is given a time-limit.

NOTE: In the title Blood Red, Sister Rose, Thomas Keneally's fictional account of Gilles' and Joan's special relationship, some suggest that there is more truth than speculation. By all historical accounts the bond between Gilles and Joan was a very close one. She obtained permission from the King to choose whom she would for her escort; her choice at once fell on Gilles, for she would naturally prefer those of her own faith. He held already a high command in the relieving, force, and added the protection of Joan as a special part of his duties. Later on, even after he had reached the high position of Marshal of France, he still continued those duties, remaining with her all day when she was wounded at the assault on Paris. For more information on the relationship may I suggest you read The Saint and the Devil;: A biographical study of Joan of Arc and Gilles de Rais There is also a very good reference at Monster or Victim? ...Lon

Just the Facts?: The 'Great Flood' May Have Happened -- USAF Secret Space Plane -- Americans Want 'Death Star'

Noah's Ark Great Flood may have happened, says Robert Ballard

In an interview with ABC News's Christiane Amanpour, Mr Ballard explains that he investigated a theory proposed by two scientists from Columbia University that there was a massive flood in the Black Sea region. They believe that the Black Sea was once an isolated freshwater lake surrounded by farmland until it was flooded by a torrent of water.

"We went in there to look for the flood," he told ABC News. "Not just a slow moving, advancing rise of sea level, but a really big flood that then stayed ... The land that went under stayed under."

Although they did not find the Ark, they found an ancient shoreline which Mr Ballard believes is proof such an event did take place. He believes that, by using carbon dating shells found along the shoreline, it took place around 5,000 BC.

"It probably was a bad day," he said. "At some magic moment, it broke through and flooded this place violently, and a lot of real estate, 150,000 square kilometers of land, went under."

As the theory goes, the story was then passed down over the years, with the story of Noah eventually forming.

Mr Ballard's team has now found an ancient shipwreck, as well as ancient pottery. Although he does not think he will ever find Noah's Ark, he believes he may find evidence of an ancient community washed away.

Despite many rumours and claims of sightings, no scientific evidence of the Ark has ever been found.

The Ark is described in the Book of Genesis as 300 cubits long, or approximately 450 feet (137m).

According to Genesis 8:4, it came to rest "in the mountains of Ararat." Experts have agreed that these mountains are to be located in present-day Armenia and eastern Turkey. - Telegraph

Unexplained Light Formation Spotted Above San Francisco’s Mission District

A viewer told CBS 5 about some surprising video captured early Sunday morning in San Francisco’s Mission District.

In the video, a series of lights fly in formation above the city before appearing to take a diamond shape and eventually disappearing.

Several commenters on the Mission Mission blog said that they had also noticed the aircraft.

The video, which shows seven lights in a row, was shot by Enrique Barrios with his cellphone.

“Looked like flame, you know, fireballs in the sky,” Barrios said in an interview with CBS 5.

David Shelley took pictures as the lights hovered over him early Sunday Morning. “Kind of looked like a fiery, floaty thing,” he said.

Witnesses said the lights flickered on and off, then took different shapes.

“So in the beginning they looked like flying candles, and then afterwards they started making formations, triangular formations,” said Barrios. - Video can be found at CBS Local

USAF Secret Space Plane Back in Orbit

The X-37B, the Air Force's unmanned "mini-space shuttle," has launched into orbit for a third time and once again what it actually does in space remains a big mystery.

One of the few things known about the space plane's classified missions is that it can stay in orbit for extended periods of time: On its previous mission, a sister craft stayed in orbit for 469 days.

The unmanned space plane lifted off from Cape Canaveral, Fla., Tuesday at 1:03 p.m. atop an Atlas V rocket. The curious could watch the launch on a live webcast that was allowed to broadcast for only 17 minutes into the mission as the space plane began its classified mission.

Officially known as the Orbital Test Vehicle, the reusable aircraft is often referred to as a mini-space shuttle, because it looks like a smaller version of NASA's now-retired space shuttles. Measuring 29 feet in length and with a wingspan of 15 feet, the X-37B is a quarter the size of the shuttles and could easily fit into two long car parking spaces.

Like the space shuttle, the X-37B lands on runways, though it does so without pilots at the helm.

The launch today marked the first time since the retirement of the space shuttle fleet that a spacecraft has gone into space more than once.

Both X-37Bs in the Air Force's inventory have been to space, but the one launched today was the original craft launched into space in April 2010 that remained in orbit for 224 days.

The space plane's orbits are often tracked by space enthusiasts who speculate as to what it might be doing on its classified missions. In the lead-up to the first launch, Air Force officials said the craft offered a platform for testing new technologies in space.

When the X-37B will return to Earth is an open guess, the robotic vehicle is designed to stay in orbit for at least 270 days.

The robotic space planes have previously landed at Vandenberg Air Force Base and it may land there again, though there has been speculation the Air Force might want to have it land at the runways built for the NASA shuttles at the Kennedy Space Center.

But when it will return to Earth remains an open question. If previous missions are any indicator it could be in space for quite a long time. - Yahoo

Americans sign petition to build killer ‘Star Wars’ space station

Marijuana, secession and now ‘Star Wars’: Thousands of Americans have signed yet another bizarre online White House petition, this one to “secure funding and resources” to build the ‘Death Star’ space station from the popular sci-fi film.

“By focusing our defense resources into a space-superiority platform and weapon system such as a Death Star, the government can spur job creation in the fields of construction, engineering, space exploration, and more, and strengthen our national defense,” the petition on the White House website reads.

The document, created on November 14 by a resident of Colorado, has already collected over 5,000 signatures. The petition needs around 20,000 more by December 14 for it to be formally reviewed by the White House staff.

The Death Star is the planet-destroying space station built by the Galactic Empire in the wildly popular sci-fi movie saga ‘Star Wars,’ directed by George Lucas. The franchise is adored by millions of fans around the world.

Earlier this year, students at Lehigh University in the US calculated the hypothetical cost of building a Death Star at $8.52 quadrillion – roughly 13,000 times the world’s GDP.

The White House’s petition platform, which allows anyone to offer suggestions to the government, is relatively new and was created to provide citizens with “new way to create or join the petition encouraging government to take action on the range of issues.”

The move has resulted in a cornucopia of bizarre petitions: Adopting the Gray Wolf to join the Bald Eagle as the national mascot; legalizing the use of magic mushrooms and mescaline; even to “shut down White House petitions, since they never get a sincere response… and are ultimately worthless.”

The most popular petition on the website so far calls for the peaceful secession of Texas, which has collected over 110,000 signatures. - RT

Below The Superstition Mountains

People claim to have had experiences with all types of alien beings inhabiting underground levels below the Superstition Mts. east of Phoenix. Early reports speak of humans and human-dwarfs inhabiting the caverns of the region, although in the 20th century reports of reptilian and grey type aliens have increased. Some encounters involve white-greys from Epsilon Bootes, humanoid or reptilian "deros" in black hooded cloaks using abducted/programmed humans above and below as mind slaves or worse; reptilian humanoids with integrated human DNA abducting and raping women; and various other regressive underground scenarios. The first narrative was sent to me a few years ago:

Lon - I have heard of and seen Reptoid beings in the area 5 miles east of Phoenix, Arizona. The Superstition Mt's have been an area of encounters and is said to have both an alien base and laboratories under it. The military also have an underground base there and interact on experiment's with the aliens.

About 20 years ago I encountered an individual that spent time exploring some of the old mines in the area. He had vanished for months before I ran into him again. I ask him where he had been all this time. Here is his story.

He spotted a mine entrance on the west side of the main Mt. side. He said that the mine looked to be in good shape, so he started walking in the shaft. He had gone about a half mile in when he saw a sign that said no entrance beyond this point. The mine shaft was still in good shape, so he went in a 100 yards. He told me that people seemed to come out of the walls of the shaft. Men in black uniforms questioned him and then took him to a holding area in Mesa, Arizona for 72 hours. They questioned him again and found out that his home was in Colorado. They gave him a plane ticket to Denver, CO and told him never to come back to the Phoenix area. He asked me not to tell anyone that I had seem him. He wanted to pick up personal items that got left behind. I have never seen him after that.

There are other stories of treasure hunters going into old mine shafts and finding holographic walls in the shaft. They did not try to enter the area behind the wall as they feared that they may not be able to get back out. They told me that they took a round rock and rolled it through the screen and heard it roll for some distance. One of them reached through the screen with a flash light in his hand. He turned the flash light back toward the screen, but could not see any light. He said that he withdrew his arm as he had the feeling that some thing was back there and he didn't want it to grab his arm and drag him in. I asked the men to take me up there and show me the mine. They all said no way they were going back in there. We got a topo map out and they showed me the area that they had encountered the wall. I did go into the area to search but was never able to find the mine. This is not strange as other people have found opening and marked the entrance with a pyramid of large rocks and left to get lights and more people and equipment. When they got back, the rocks are still there as they had stacked them, but the entrance is gone!

There have been sighting of reptoids about 9 feet tall in that area. As soon as they sense that they are being watch they vanish. People have also seen lizard beings about the size of a man with bat like wings and a tail. They fly out to opening in the cliffs at twilight and also vanish if since that they are being watched. The Native Americans have seen these things for hundreds of years and have legends about them. They say that they are shape shifters and can make you see them in any form they want. I found this out on a personal encounter with a Reptoid I encountered on a trail.

As I was walking up an inner trail in the Mt's I looked up and saw a man coming towards me on the trail. He had appeared out of thin air. As I walked toward him I noticed his eyes, they were reptoid, vertical slits. When he sensed that I knew what he was, he hit me with a pshycic blow that I can only describe as being hit in the head with a sledge hammer. It stunned me and almost drove me to my knees. As I shook this off I looked up and he was gone. I had a headache for 2 days after that and think that he could have killed me if he wanted to.

This is just some of the strange thing that have been seen up there. We have seen different types of alien craft that appear to enter the main Mt. Ghost orbs and UFO orbs that have been seen in different area for hundreds of years that disappear at different old mines, wells, and some just enter the face of the Mt's. I would love to get in touch with a well equipped investigative group and have them check out some of the strong magnetic fields that may act as dimensional portholes where some of these creatures come and go.

One day our Government may tell us the truth on there involvement with alien encounters and tech that has been traded for their abduction of us. Anonymous

The next narrative was recalled by several researcher and included in the Mojave Files:

The Steven Brodie Story

Steven Brodie was a man of many talents and hobbies, among them painting and rock collecting. Several years back he decided to investigate a certain area in Arizona where, he had heard, quartz crystals could be found in abundance. Brodie convinced a friend of his, also an avid rock collector, to join him on a rock-hunting expedition to the site. After purchasing a ticket on a passenger train, they traveled to a certain small community in Arizona, which was near the area that they desired to explore.

The two rock hounds had their eyes on one particular bluff, which they could see in the distance from the town they were in. Other town residents heard about their plans and warned them against going to that bluff, stating that SEVERAL people had in the past disappeared without a trace in that area. Brodie and his friend blew-off their warnings, considering them mere superstitions which they should not take seriously, and set out towards the forbidden bluff. They had no sooner approached the base of the bluff than out of the shadows emerged two beings who were each cowled in a dark cloak and hood, making it very difficult to discern their features or whether they were even human or not. After being confronted, Brodie's friend panicked and attempted to make a run for it. Steve swore that at this point one of the black cloaked figures raised some kind of weapon and a brilliant pencil beam of light shot from it and hit his friend, who cried out in agony and immediately fell down motionless. From what Brodie could gather his friend had been killed, although he never did see his body after that.

Following this, one of the 'beings' came up to Brodie, who did not resist but stood where he was. While still in a state of shock, one of the creatures placed some type of device over his head, like a metal headset with two metallic 'discs' which fitted over his temples. At this point he started to lose consciousness.

The next thing Steve remembered after gaining consciousness again was of being in some type of dungeon or cavern-like enclosure, within a prison-like cell. Other humans were there as well. Most of the people there seemed to be under some type of trance or mind control, and as far as he knew, he was one of them. He dimly recalls 'waking up' a few times, but usually when this happened one of the dark-robed creatures would come over to the cage or enclosure where he was and point a rod shaped device at him, at which point he would black out again. During one of his brief conscious episodes, he had a chance to talk to another prisoner, a girl, who told him that their dark-robed captors were known as the 'dero'.

That, basically, was all that he remembered. The incredible part of the story, however, was the fact that several months afterwards he suddenly 'came to' and found himself conscious once again. He suddenly realized that he was walking down the streets of New York City! He had no idea how he got there, or where he had been the past six months. It was like 'waking up' out of a bad dream or nightmare, the majority of which he could not remember. In addition to this, he found that someone had given him a haircut (he didn't know whom).

Whether or not this account has any connection to the many 'rumors' of strange and ancient caverns and tunnels below New York City is uncertain. Some cautiously speak of such tunnels as being used by a MIB-like secret society, some of these tunnels connecting with the lowest sub-basements of the Empire State building and other Manhattan structures. Some allege that such tunnels are the possible destination of many of those who mysteriously end up 'missing' in New York City every year. Whether these are mere unfounded 'rumors' is anyone's guess, at least until solid evidence 'surfaces' to prove such accounts.

Steve was constantly paranoid and in fear that he was 'being followed' or that someone or something was constantly watching or stalking him. Also, Steve would often paint bizarre other-worldly landscapes, even though he wasn't used to painting in that style until after his 'experience'. Then one day someone stopped by Brodie's apartment to pay him a visit and he was no where to be found. No one seemed to know what happened to him, and that was the last time anybody ever saw Steve again. - The Mojave Files 11/16/2000

Just the Facts?: Monsters on the 'Rez' -- The Other 'Alien Mountain' -- Indiana Jones Crystal Skull Lawsuit

Monsters on the 'Rez'

A smashed watermelon is spread out in the middle of a dirt road in Upper Fruitland, a community where everything from giant pterodactyls to walking lizards to furry children have been reported.

The watermelon happens to be for Bigfoot, another one of the inhabitants of the bucolic town on the outskirts of the Navajo reservation.

"My grandma left it for him," says Felicia Frank, who lives nearby. "I said, "Grandma, you're feeding Bigfoot?'"

Down the road, Frank points out where several people have sighted the legendary, hairy being, along with other odd species.

"Things like this happen all the time on the rez," she says, noting that it is not just in Upper Fruitland that these extraordinary sightings occur.
It's just a matter of getting people to talk about it.

By driving though the Navajo reservation, no one would know that the vast tribal land is thought by cryptozoologists to be home to so many outlandish species.

"Navajo stories go way back, for years," said Leonard Dan, a self-proclaimed cryptozoologist, someone who studies animals thought to be extinct.

"There have been sightings of Pegasus, and of Griffins," Dan said, referring to two creatures thought by most to come from Greek mythology.

Lately, an unusual number of people on the reservation also have spotted Centaurs, another animal of Greek mythology that is human on top and equine on the bottom.
"I had more reports of Centaurs than Bigfoot this spring," said J.C. Johnson, Dan's partner and fellow self-proclaimed cryptozoologist.

Many people, however, fear talking about what they see because of the traditional taboos that surround many creatures.

Just as many common animals have meaning in Navajo spirituality, so too do some of the atypical ones, Johnson said.

Some believe that if a person sees Bigfoot, they will die a year later. If a person sees a miniature tyrannosaurus rex, also believed by some to be alive on the reservation, they might turn to stone.

Even those who don't believe in such superstitions struggle to bring up the topic.
Brenda Harris, also of Upper Fruitland, said it took her a while to talk about her sightings of a pterodactyl, a winged Jurassic dinosaur, in the late 1990s because she was wary of the humiliation.

After talking about it, though, she found many of her neighbors had similar experiences.

"A lot of people are opening up," she said.

So many people, in fact, have opened up that nationwide media have zeroed in on many of the strange events that have occurred on the reservation.

National Geographic's show "Navajo Cops" featured an episode in which the police tried tracking the Newcomb "Howler," thought perhaps to be a lonely Bigfoot or a skinwalker, an evil Navajo witch that changes form.

Still, not all law enforcement are very responsive when reports involve sightings of weird creatures, according to the people that have called on the police to investigate sightings.

"Different folks, different strokes," said one Navajo police criminal investigator from Shiprock. He did not want to be named.

"As far as looking for the Lochness monster in the San Juan River, we're not going to do that," he said, adding that he respected people's beliefs but did not often have time to entertain them.

While some residents have grown used to the idea of the bizarre assortment of species on the reservation, others truly fear certain types.

Just recently, one Upper Fruitland family spotted a red-eyed, three-clawed, winged creature comparable to the demonic being in the 2001 American horror film "Jeepers Creepers." The family named it the "Night Stalker."

It has left claw marks on their home, on their car, and even has managed to scratch their daughter during her sleep.

Johnson has made it his mission to document these cases, especially when law enforcement fails to.

Johnson has independently researched all kinds of cases, from behemoth snakes to werewolves to upright hooded lizards that will shoot poison into a person's legs and then eat them. Not to mention skin walkers, the evil Navajo spirits that are known to take the shape of a wolf, among other animals.

"The locals out there all know about it," says Johnson.

While he works independently for the most part, he sometimes calls the Navajo criminal investigators in to give his research an added credibility that is, if they will come.

Oftentimes, the Navajo police do not want to respond because of their own superstitions, or simply because they do not find the matters important.

On a reservation that is steeped and crime and short on resources, only a few officers find the time to make it out to cases that sound a little bit "out of this world."

And, if they do find valuable evidence, they confiscate it immediately.

"They just show up in a black van," said Harris, who has heard of several instances when the police have told people to repeat nothing of what they saw and forget the sighting ever happened.

As Johnson and Dan walk near the river with a few of the Upper Fruitland residents that have seen some of the odd species that the two local cryptozoologists are so interested in, Johnson picks up the watermelon on the ground.

Johnson looks at it, places his hand around it as he imagines Bigfoot might have and inspects some of the markings, which look like they are from some kind of animal.

"This might have been Squatchie," says Johnson, who also affectionately refers to Bigfoot as a "furry bastard."

Still, he says, it may not have been. No track marks. No broken branches.

"I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything," Johnson says, noting that it is important not to have an agenda when pursuing evidence of the unknown.

"It's just the truth," says Harris. - Daily Times

The other 'alien mountain'

With ten days to go before the Mayan apocalypse supposedly casts Earth into oblivion, time is running out for believers to find alien salvation.

But for those who have failed to book their spot in the shadow of France's Pic de Bugarach - apparently home to an extra-terrestrial mothership that will pluck believers to safety - there is another peak with similar powers.

Nestled deep within Serbia's Carpathian mountain range, Mount Rtanj is thought to house a 'pyramidal' structure left behind by alien visitors thousands of years ago that will emit a powerful force field at the moment of Armageddon, protecting those in its vicinity.

'The navel of the world'? Mount Rtanj, in Serbia, is thought to house a 'pyramidal' structure left behind by alien visitors thousands of years ago. New Agers believe it will emit a powerful force field that will protect them from Apocalypse
Now, hotels in the area are overflowing with doomsday cultists hoping to live past Christmas.

'In one day we had 500 people trying to book rooms. People want to bring their whole families,' Obrad Blecic, a local hotel manager, told The Telegraph.

Popular British science fiction writer Arthur C Clarke reportedly believed the peak contained a 'special energy' and labelled it 'the navel of the world'.

Mount Rtanj has long been believed to have mystical powers.

According to legend, a wizard lived in a great castle at its summit, guarding a hoard of buried treasure.

The castle is now gone, replaced by a small chapel to Patron Saint of England Saint George. The chapel, however, was destroyed by treasure hunters in the trying to unearth the hidden gold.

The mountain is also famed for its 'Rtanj tea', made from the savory herb and lauded as a powerful aphrodisiac and cure for chronic flatulence.

Ancient Mayans believed that a 5,125-year cycle known as the Long Count would come to a close on December 21 2012.

Experts estimate the system, which is made up of 394-year periods called baktuns, started counting at 3114 BC, and will have run through 13 baktuns, or 5,125 years, around December 21.

They say 13 was a significant number for the Maya, and the end of that cycle would be a milestone — but they have been keen to stress that it does not mark an end.

Conspiracy theorists nonetheless believe the Maya may have been privy to impending astronomical disasters that would coincide with 2012, ranging from explosive storms on the surface of the sun that could knock out power grids to a galactic alignment that could trigger a reversal in Earth's magnetic field.

The end-of-days prophesy is based on an interpretation of the ancient Mayan calendar which claims an intergalactic planet is on a crash course with Earth and will impact on December 21 2012.

As 'zero hour' approaches, various theories have been posed as to how Planet Earth will meet its doom.

One claims that Nibiru, a rogue planet discovered by the ancient Sumerians, will crash into Earth on December 21, killing everyone.

The origins of those rumors have been linked to the works of the late Azerbaijani-born author Zecharia Sitchin, who wrote in 1976 that he had found and translated Sumerian documents identifying the rogue planet. Sitchin died in 2010 at the age of 90.

Scientists, however, say there is no such planet.

Another theory claims that the earth's magnetic field will reverse producing dire consequences such as violent hurricanes and the loss of all electronic communication systems.

Some believe the earth is unwittingly hurtling headlong towards a black hole at the centre of the Milky Way that will suck humanity into oblivion.

As a result, panic-buying of candles and other essentials has been reported in China and Russia, while in the United States the sale of survival shelters is booming.

News of Mount Rtanj's mystic powers follows claims that aliens will emerge from their 'spaceship garage' hidden deep within Pic de Bugarach mountain, in France's Pyrenees, and pluck anyone in the vicinity to safety.

Armageddon tourists and UFO spotters hoping for salvation have swarmed to the two-street hamlet where 'authentic Bugarach stones' are on sale for €1.50 (£1.20) a gram, a bottle of water from the local spring costs €15 (£12).

One landowner is even offering up his four-bedroom home with close up views of the mysterious peak for £1,200 a night, while tourists can also pop to the local Italian restaurant for an 'Apocalypse pizza', washed down with a local vintner's 'End Of The World' vintage.

But not everyone is taking the forecast so seriously.

Tourists have already flocked to archaeological sites in Mexico and Central America where 'Apocalypse parties' are being held to mark a new Mayan era on December 21.

Mexico is one of five countries preparing to observe the date, which marks the end of a more than 5,000-year era, according to the Mayan 'Long Count' calendar, which began in 3114 BC.

The start of the new Mayan calendar also is big business in this region, with tourism offices in no fewer than five countries aggressively promoting the date.
Millions of tourists are expected to flood into the region for celebrations that will include fireworks, concerts and other spectacles held at more than three dozen archaeological sites.

In addition to Mexico, celebrations will be held in Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador or Honduras, and at least two heads of state - President Otto Perez of Guatemala and President Porfirio Lobo of Honduras - have confirmed that they will take part in festivities in their respective countries. - Daily Mail

Indiana Jones Crystal Skull Lawsuit Raises Questions of Hoax

An archaeologist in Belize has filed a lawsuit against the makers of the film "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," alleging that the movie profits off references to an artifact illegally stolen from the country.

But the item in question, a real-life crystal skull, may not be a Belizean artifact carved by the ancient Maya people at all, but rather a hoax perpetrated by a self-styled 20th-century adventurer.

The story starts in the 1930s, when explorer Frederick A. Mitchell-Hedges claims to have found the skull somewhere in Central America. Or maybe it starts in the 1920s: That's when Mitchell-Hedges' daughter, Anna, now deceased, recalled finding the skull in the ancient Maya city of Lubaantún in Belize, though the exact date varied with the telling of the story.

The skull is smaller than the life-size ones seen in the Indiana Jones film (which are also, spoiler alert, alien in origin). It stands about 5 inches (12.7 centimeters) high, 7 inches tall (17.8 cm) and 5 inches (12.7 cm) wide. The skull is made of beautifully clear polished quartz, with a lower jaw that detaches.

Since it surfaced, the skull has been the subject of many legends. It's said to get its glassy sheen from the efforts of five generations of ancient polishers. It's also been attributed magical powers, from the ability to repel witchcraft to the ability to kill on command. [Full Coverage: The Myth of the Mayan Apocalypse]

Some have contested the truth of the Mitchell-Hedges tale, however: Smithsonian anthropologist Jane MacLaren Walsh has examined the Mitchell-Hedges skull and finds that it was carved with high-speed, diamond-coated tools from the 20th century.

"The Mitchell-Hedges crystal skull is not ancient; not even very old. It was probably made in Europe in the 20th century, and was not polished for five generations. It is not powerful, not scary and not at all what it purports to be," Walsh wrote in 2010 in Archaeology, the magazine of the Archaeological Institute of America.

Walsh's investigations of Frederick and Anna Mitchell-Hedges' claims about the skull's discovery also turned up many inconsistencies, she reported. It was likely purchased from an antiquities dealer in London in 1943, Walsh wrote.

The Maya did leave other amazing artistry behind, including a carved limestone monkey skull and elaborate painted murals.

The lawsuit of the crystal skull

The new lawsuit, however, takes the Mitchell-Hedges' claims as truth and argues that by removing this alleged artifact from Belize, Frederick and Anna broke the country's laws. Archaeologist Jaime Awe, the director of the Institute of Archaeology of Belize, filed the lawsuit on behalf of his country.

"The primary goal of the litigation is to: (a) preserve and return the artifact to the people of Belize; (b) to enforce the nation's rights to the artifact and the profits derived therefrom; and (c) to make known to the global community that while a relatively small, yet vibrant and growing nation, Belize will take whatever action necessary to preserve, and prevent the exploitation of its culture and cultural artifacts/landmarks," Awe's lawyer Adam Tracy wrote in an email to LiveScience.

"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" name-checks the skull, with Indy talking about how he and fellow archaeologist Harold Oxley were obsessed with the find. [10 Modern Tools for Indiana Jones]

"As the epicenter of Mayan culture, combined with the fact that the known crystal skulls were pilfered from the country, Belize is of the position that the physical artifacts, together with the nomenclature tied thereto, are properties of the people of the Belize," Tracy said.

As such, Awe is suing Paramount Pictures, Lucasfilms and Lucasfilms' new owner Disney for illegally profiting from the skull's likeness. He is also suing the Mitchell-Hedges family for the return of the skull, which is now in possession of Anna's widower, William Homann, in Indiana.

Many mystical skulls

The Mitchell-Hedges' skull is not the only mystical skull out there. There's a Mitchell-Hedges lookalike in the British Museum in London. (Walsh suspects that the Mitchell-Hedges' skull was a copy of the British Museum version). The Musee du Quai Branly in Paris holds another large skull, and a third is in the catalog at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. That Smithsonian skull is approximately life-size at 15 inches (38 cm) tall.

Unfortunately for believers in the Central American occult, not a single one of these skulls has been found to be authentic. The British Museum skull was likely made in the 1800s, according to the museum, based on tool marks left behind from the carving. Likewise, tests carried out on the Paris skull in 2007 and 2008 found it to be a late-1800s forgery. The Smithsonian skull, which happens to be the artifact that got anthropologist Jane MacLaren Walsh interested in investigating crystal skulls, was also carved with modern jewel-cutting equipment.

To test the authenticity of the Mitchell-Hedges' skull, Walsh used high-powered microscopy, ultraviolet light, computerized tomography (CT) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A real artifact from Central America, created before the arrival of Christopher Columbus would have been carved by stone implements and abrasive sand, Walsh wrote. These tools leave marks that look rough under the microscope. But the Mitchell-Hedges' skull revealed microscopic cut marks that were unmistakably smooth and straight, the telltale signature of a metal tool augmented by diamond.

It remains to be seen whether the skull's veracity will play a role in the Indiana Jones lawsuit.

"The government of Belize does not believe the skull is fake," Tracy told LiveScience. "As such, I do not foresee any further testing of the artifact." - Live Science
