'Fact or Fiction: The M6 & Paris Crashes'

I was notified today by author Colin Hall that his book Fact or Fiction: The M6 & Paris Crashes will be released in December. Colin writes:

I am finally nearing the completion of my book and Markosia shall be publishing it in December.

To be honest, it’s more of an investigative journal and in many respects seems to open as many doors as it closes; I think I said this before!

Inside you will find the book is full of images depicting what I think may have happened at the alleged crash scenes, backgrounds into certain locations such as the Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital in Paris and also the nuclear bunker in Cheshire that may have been used as an interview room along with plenty of photographs I have taken on my travels to the various locations.

Also I have put forward some hypotheses into the 1of26 blog and Twitter feed and what connections may exist between Mark Collins and the other people he mentions in his reports.

There are some expert opinions from people such as Nick Pope, the renowned investigator into UFO reports who has worked for the Ministry of Defence and comment from those who published the initial Mark Collins reports.

In truth I am still working on the final pages as I write this and relaying details to the illustrator who is helping me put together some finishing touches to the alleged crash scenes I’ve tried to piece together from the reports.

I am still trying to crack the code, and as this will be available digitally as well as in physical form I know there will be some final additions in the coming weeks.

I will post here, on Twitter and Facebook the date the book is to be published and also any more information I gather from people once it is available.

Thanks

Colin

Just the Facts?: Soviets Found Lunar Life? -- Origins of Vampires and Monsters - Three Day Encounter With Shapeshifter

Did the Soviets find life on the Moon?

On 24 September 1970, for the first time, an unmanned spacecraft delivered a lunar "soil" sample to Earth. The Soviet Union's Luna 16 spacecraft returned from the moon's Sea of Fertility with 101 grams of lunar regolith in a hermetically sealed container. In February 1972, only 120 kilometers from the Luna 16 site, Luna 20 used a drill with a ten-inch, hollow-core bit to collect another regolith sample that was also hermetically sealed on the moon. Back in the USSR, the sealed containers from the Luna missions would be promptly delivered to the laboratory for the contents to be examined and photographed. But even after hundreds of the pictures were published in an atlas in 1979, the biological nature of some of the particles was not noticed.

Further study of the photographs was later undertaken by two biologists at the Russian Academy of Sciences, Stanislav I. Zhmur, Institute of the Lithosphere of Marginal Seas, and Lyudmila M. Gerasimenko, Institute of Biology. They noticed that a few of the particles in the photographs were virtually identical to fossils of known biological species. Specifically, some spherical particles from the Luna 20 regolith plainly resemble fossils of modern coccoidal bacteria like Siderococcus or Sulfolobus in their scale, distribution, form, and the distortion of the spheres that occurs during fossilization. The Origins of Vampires and Monsters

The suave and sensitive Edward Cullen of "Twilight" may be the norm for vampires these days, but fictional monsters such as Dracula originally sprang from the fear of inexplicable diseases and the mysteries of death in the natural world.

So argues science journalist Matt Kaplan in Medusa's Gaze and Vampire's Bite: The Science of Monsters an examination of monsters around the world and throughout history - the science behind their origins, and why they matter to us even now.

"When our kids ask for monster stories around the campfire, they are behaving in a way that is not dissimilar to lion cubs," Kaplan said in an email.

"Lion cubs play fight so they can test out their skills in a safe place where nobody is going to get maimed or killed. Monster stories serve a similar purpose, they allow us to face our worst fears without the risks that are normally associated with them."

Some are simple. The Kraken tales of mammoth monster squid, along with the Leviathan of the Bible, are most likely based upon the existence of real creatures such as whales.

The terrifying Medusa of Greek myths, with her hair made of snakes and a gaze that could turn things to stone, may have been distantly connected to the idea of fossils for ancient people, with the snakes in her hair an example of pure fear.

Though mentions of vampire-like creatures exist as early as ancient Greece, it took hundreds of years for tales of the creatures to gradually evolve into the haunting undead of more recent history.

Accounts of people found in their graves with blood on their lips and their stomachs seemingly full, as if they had just eaten, may be explained by simple decay, with gas buildup throughout the body sometimes pushing blood up from the lungs. Elongated canine teeth and fingernails was due to skin shrinking after death and pulling away, making both more prominent.

Later, greater awareness of contagious diseases such as influenza and tuberculosis - which could cause people who came in contact with the ill person to also sicken and die - further contributed to the myth. This was especially true due to incubation periods that weren't understood at the time, making it unclear how the diseases were being spread.

"One death would follow another in a dominolike progression," writes Kaplan. "In a morbid sense, these patients were literally killing their friends and relatives, but from their deathbeds rather than the hereafter."

But vampires have now undergone a radical transformation, a process that began with the publication of Bram Stoker's "Dracula" but has speeded up in recent years.

"If tuberculosis, influenza, rabies and bloated bodies are the human experiences from which Dracula came, how have we now ended up with the kind, honorable and handsome Edward Cullen?" Kaplan said.

For one thing, modern science has uncovered the mechanism of various diseases, which remain a fear but now appear as their true selves, as in stories such as "The Andromeda Strain."

Vampires have also become increasingly charming, transforming their original monster nature into something else.

"In a world where the seemingly most virtuous individuals all too often fall prey to vice, public interest in good souls battling their own bestial natures is higher than ever, and vampires provide exploration of this," Kaplan added.

In the future, fears are likely to focus on things like genetic manipulation - think Jurassic Park - and also from technology, with worries about what computers might do with true artificial intelligence looming large.

"What I find most interesting here is that these monsters really require human participation in their creation," he said, noting the popularity of films like "Avatar" and "Planet of the Apes," where monsters are the heroes and the humans, monsters.

Why are we so comfortable with feeling elated as inhuman beasts rip apart people? I think a long, hard look in the mirror can provide a lot of answers," he said. - Reuters

Herd of Drunk Elephants Goes on Rampage

When human beings get tipsy, they either speak gibberish or land up in a brawl. But when elephants get high on liquor, they end up wreaking havoc.

Such was the sight at Dumurkota village where a herd of 50-odd inebriated jumbos ransacked three houses and damaged paddy crops on Sunday. The strong smell of Mahua drink drew the elephants out of the forest and they raided the shop selling the drink. The herd wasn't happy even after guzzling down 18 containers of Mahua and ransacked the adjoining huts in search of more.

But the villagers had gathered by then and they managed to drive away the jumbos. "We are trying to push the herd back and get it to cross the Kangsabati river," said Midnapore DFO Asish Samanat. TNN

High on country liquor, an elephant herd created havoc in Dumurkota village under Kotwali police station in the wee hours of Sunday. The strong smell of the Mahua drink drew about 50 elephants from the nearby jungle. They first raided a shop that sells the drink. After finishing the stock of about 18 containers of the liquor, they wanted more.

The herd then raided three houses near the shop hoping to find more drink. By this time villagers had gathered and they managed to drive away the elephants to the jungle. Till late evening forest officials were trying to get the elephants cross the Kangsabati river.

"The herd also destroyed paddy fields. We are trying to push them back and get them cross the Knagsbati river," said Asish Samanat, divisional forest officer (DFO) (Midnapore)

According to forest officials, the 50 elephants were part of a 120 strong herd that has come from Damla on Friday night.

"We are asking the villagers to co-operate with us in sending the elephants back to Dalma," said assistant DFO (Rupnarayan) Bikash Chakraborty. - Times of India

The 'Guardian' UFO Case

A week or so ago, I posted about the large number of UFOs, USOs and unexplained beings reported on or near the Ottawa River north of the city. In the Summer of 1991 a very controversial encounter took place in the Ottawa suburb of West Carleton. Below is a quick overview of the case. I have provided a link to an excellent source of documents on the case:

On August 18, 1991, West Carleton, Ontario housewife Diane Labenek was home when she heard her dogs barking. When she looked out the window to investigate, she saw a UFO-type object in a field nearby with red flames and lots of smoke. The ship then lifted up and disappeared into the trees. Diane claimed that about ten minutes after the ship left, a helicopter flew over the area where she saw the lights, and then flew over her house and vanished. Diane went to the site the next day, but found nothing and only told her husband and mother about the incident. Six months later in February of 1992, Bob Oechsler, a UFO researcher, received a package from Canada. Inside the package included secret military documents, pictures, a map, and a videotape, labeled "Guardian" with a fingerprint on it, showed the UFO that Diane had seen.

The map directed Oechsler to West Carleton, where he and another UFO researcher Graham Lightfoot, interviewed Diane and found that her sighting matched the UFO on the video. A navy physicist believes that the video is not a hoax and believes that "Guardian" stumbled onto the site accidentally. The physicist found that the UFO had to be 20 to 30 feet in length, which, according to Oechsler, is too large to be a hoax. The audio analysis of the tape only had the sound of dogs barking, probably Diane's dogs, and the craft appeared to be silent. A NASA specialist reviewed the tape and could not determine what the craft actually was. After the incident, helicopters of black, green, or maroon color were seen throughout the West Carleton area, although the military denies that the helicopters were theirs. Oechsler believes that the key to finding out what the craft really was is the mysterious individual named "Guardian". However, the documents found along with the videotape seem to cause Guardian to lose credibility, as they appeared to be about UFOs, Red China, and nuclear weapons, and that the papers appeared to be forged. Also, Oechsler found that on the video there were images of what Guardian claimed was an alien being, although it appeared to be someone in a mask. However, many still believe that the video of UFO is real, despite the questionable items that were with it. Many are certain that if "Guardian" could be found, the mystery could be explained. - unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com

NOTE: I have attempted to decipher this case over the years...I honestly cannot tell if this was an actual sighting or a hoax. I gather from the opinions expressed in the available material that the consensus is that this was most likely a fraud...but I'm not sure I completely agree with that assessment. May I suggest you use the link above and read through the evidence...it is very interesting. Lon

Just the Facts?: NASA May Unveil Manned Moon Missions -- Knock at the Back Door -- 2 Dead Candidates Win

NASA may unveil manned Moon missions

NASA is serious about sending astronauts back to the moon's neighborhood and will likely unveil its ambitious plans soon now that President Barack Obama has been re-elected, experts say.

The space agency has apparently been thinking about setting up a manned outpost beyond the moon's far side, both to establish a human presence in deep space and to build momentum toward a planned visit to an asteroid in 2025.

The new plans have probably already been cleared with the Obama Administration but have been kept under wraps in case Republican candidate Mitt Romney won Tuesday night's (Nov. 6) presidential election, said space policy expert John Logsdon, a professor emeritus at George Washington University.

"They've been holding off announcing that until after the election," Logsdon added, noting that Romney had pledged to reassess and possibly revise NASA's missions and direction.

A new vision of human space exploration

In 2010, President Obama directed NASA to work toward sending astronauts to a near-Earth asteroid by 2025, then on to the vicinity of Mars by the mid-2030s. To reach such deep-space destinations, the agency is developing a huge rocket called the Space Launch System (SLS) and a crew capsule named Orion.

But astronauts likely won't head straight to a space rock when SLS and Orion are ready to fly together in 2021. In the last year, word has begun leaking out that NASA wants to explore Earth-moon L2, a point in space that lies beyond the moon's far side, as a precursor.

Rumors currently point toward parking a spacecraft at the Earth-moon L2 gateway, so NASA (and perhaps international partners) can learn more about supporting humans in deep space. Astronauts stationed there could also aid in lunar exploration — by teleoperating rovers on the moon's surface, for example.

NASA officials think they can pull off such manned missions without busting their budget, which stands at $17.7 billion in the proposed 2013 federal budget.

"They're not talking about plans that imply significant budget increases," Logsdon said. "It gives a more focused use for SLS and Orion before an asteroid mission."

Moon missions coming soon?

Exploration of Earth-moon L2 could get started as early as 2021 with the first manned flight of SLS and Orion, which NASA calls Exploration Mission 2. (Exploration Mission 1 is the initial, unmanned test launch of SLS, slated for late 2017.)

"I'm not privy to the specifics of this, but one could conceive of the second SLS mission being the start of activity in cislunar space, rather than just being a lunar orbit mission," Logsdon said.

We may know soon enough. NASA higher-ups have dropped hints recently that a big announcement may indeed be in the offing before too much longer.

"We just recently delivered a comprehensive report to Congress outlining our destinations which makes clear that SLS will go way beyond low-Earth orbit to explore the expansive space around the Earth-moon system, near-Earth asteroids, the moon, and ultimately, Mars," NASA deputy chief Lori Garver said at a conference in September.

"Let me say that again: We're going back to the moon, attempting a first-ever mission to send humans to an asteroid and actively developing a plan to take Americans to Mars," Garver added. - Fox News

NASA may unveil manned Moon missions

Toledo, Ohio - 8/14/1972: I was 14 years old in 1972. It was August in a more innocent time and we had no air conditioner. My parents usually locked the screen door and sometimesI tried to sleep on the couch w/ the door open. At those times, there was very little crime in the area to worry about.I am not exactly sure of the exact date, but it was August and Hot! was dozing on the couch that night w/ my little dog, Kilo. Between 1-2am I was awakened by a knock on our BACK door. The little dogs ears went up. I went to the back door but didn't see anyone. I unlocked the door and stepped out. For some reason I looked up and hovering over our house was an elliptical object (a UFO) that appeared to have a white surface and had one very large light in the from underneath illuminating nearly the entire underside, with some left in darkness. I couldn't make out any lights, and I don't remember being the least bit surprised to see this object there. It hovered there silently for an unknown amount of time. I remember thinking," Oh! They came to say hi to me." There might have been an abduction because I lost time and don't remember seeing the object disappear. I also remember feeling that this had happened to me before - although I don't have any other recollections.

As far as what I thought the object was when I first noticed it, I knew what it was. It I know it was not a dream, and I felt like I had been visited before. The only other thing about the visitation that sticks in my mind is that the next morning I told my mother that they had come to visit me in a UFO. Instead of calling me crazy, she told me I should have come to wake her up. For some reason the visit seemed entirely natural. To this day I never told anyone else, although I did see a report on line that was written in 1997 where the person states he saw a UFO in Toledo in 1972 or 1973 near a hospital. We lived about 5-10 miles from the nearest hospital. I had the feeling that they came specifically for me. - MUFON CMS

2 dead candidates win seats

A Republican nominee who died almost month before Election Day beat the Democratic incumbent for a seat on the Bibb County Commission on Tuesday.

Probate Judge Jerry Pow says Republican nominee Charles Beasley defeated Democrat Walter Sansing despite having died on Oct. 12. Beasley carried about 52 percent of the votes.

Beasley wasn't the only dearly departed to win his election this year. In Florida, Democrat Earl K. Wood died on October 15 from natural causes at age 96, during his campaign for a 12th term as Orange County Tax Collector in Orlando, Reuters reports.

Criticized for rarely coming into the office while collecting a $150,000 salary and $90,000 pension, Wood initially announced he would step down, only to change his mind when a longtime political foe made plans to seek the seat.

Wood's wide name recognition after almost half a century in office scared off several serious contenders, Reuters reports, adding he took 56 percent of the votes to 44 percent for a Republican who promised to eliminate the office altogether if elected.

In Alabama, officials say some voters probably didn't know Beasley died before the election, but others did.

The 77-year-old Beasley previously served one term, but the Democratic Sansing won four years ago.

The ballots were printed before Beasley's death and couldn't be changed before the vote.

Probate Judge Pow says the Bibb County GOP will recommend a successor to Gov. Robert Bentley, who will appoint a new commissioner. - WTSP

Beings From The Rock

I'm kind of busy today, so I decided to post a story I received in late 2009. At the time, I asked the author if she was willing to point out the location but she deferred...only that it was very near Cooperstown, NY. I'd be interested in reading your responses...Lon

Hello, Sir. My name is Dee and I would like to confide in you an experience I had in 1990 when I lived near Cooperstown, NY. It was mid Spring and a girlfriend and I decided to take a walk in the surrounding countryside. While we were taking a rest near a large outcropping of rocks, there was a 'humming' sound coming from one of the nooks. My girlfriend stood and started walking toward the noise. Though it was late afternoon and we were in heavy tree cover, there was enough light to see into the rocks. As she got closer, she said that the sound was coming from inside one of the large boulders. I began to walk toward her and the boulder to listen for myself.

We stood there for about 5 minutes when we noticed the boulder seemed to 'shimmer' like water. We quickly stepped back as the shimmer grew and change to a greenish hue. Then suddenly, two small beings emerged from the shimmering portal. The beings walked towards us as we tried to move away but were paralyzed and unable to talk. These beings were about 3 foot in height and had green colored clothes that looked like work overalls. The faces and body features were human-like though I'd have to say more like human children but with some adult features. They also had long blonde hair and very dark, large round eyes. Their hands had four distinct fingers and were very rough textured. (This incident occurred much earlier than the film, but these beings remind me of the Hobbits in 'The Lord of the Rings' - sounds nuts, right?)

They took each of us by the hand and started pulling us toward the rock. We both quickly regained our ability to move and broke away from their grasp. As we ran down the hill, we could hear them running behind us. A minute or so into the chase, I felt something hit me on the back and realized one of the beings had thrown a stone at me. I stopped and looked back, but they were gone though I could hear voices from a distance that sounded like there were more of these beings and the sounds were getting louder.

We continued to run until we reached the car, got in and sped off. We had driven about a half mile when a piece of tree branch came flying out of the woods and hit the side of the car. I looked up into the woods but neither of us could see any sign of the beings.

We were both shaking when we arrived home. We agreed not to tell anyone about the incident though I think she may have mentioned it to a friend (years after we went separate ways) because there was talk about little people in the surrounding woods. I never had another encounter with these beings but I feel that they knew where I lived. One morning, I found a small pile of stones on my patio picnic table with a small four-fingered muddy hand print beside it.

I recently moved out of the area, but I still have a feeling they know where I am. Last week, I was leaving for work and walking to my car. When I got into the car, I noticed a reddish colored four-fingered hand print on the windshield. I took a closer look and realized that the hand print was made in blood. That evening, while sitting in my office at home, I heard voices outside. I looked out the office window and caught a quick glance of something darting into the bushes next door. I continued to watch, but didn't notice anything further.

I have no idea what is happening though I do know that I am not imagining any of this. Is there a possibility of little beings (ex. Hobbits, elves) living among us? I've never seen or read about any of this. It just seems so crazy. Any ideas?

Just the Facts?: 'Elixir of Life' Found? -- Kentucky's 'Bearilla' -- Possible Alien Intrusion

'Elixir of Life' Found?

The scientists have taken two years to develop the yogurt based drink called "nar" which means nourishment in Kazakh.

It has been developed at Nazarbayev University in the capital, Astana where it is currently undergoing clinical tests.

The Kazakhstani leader, Nursultan Nazarbayev, gave orders to the university's scientists to come up with an 'elixir of life', soon after the institution was established in 2009.

Aged 72, he has been president of the Central Asian state since 1990 and interested in immortality for some time.

When, in 2010, an ethnic Korean delegate at Kazakhstan's People's Assembly suggested that the President should remain in power for another decade, Mr Nazarbayev replied:

“Maybe, then, you'll offer me an elixir of youth and energy – maybe you have such potions in Korea … I'm willing to go on until 2020, just find me an elixir.”

Roger Highfield, director of external affairs at London's Science Museum told Radio 4's Today Programme: "Definitely, the Kazaks are on to something. There is a lot of interest in trying to tweak your microbial culture. He added:

"I think what they have tried to get at is the fact that the digestive system of your body has a hundred trillion microbes, that is ten times the number of cells in your major organs."

"And we are finding that the complicated mixture of microbes has big influences on obesity on diabetes, maybe even on heart attacks so we are trying to tweak that with probiotics now."

The yogurt mixture has yet to be drunk, and it can't be purchased in shops but Nazarbayev is not the first ruler to test out an elixir of life.

Dr Jennifer Rampling, an expert on elixirs based in Cambridge said: "He is the latest in a long line of rulers and important people who have hired or been approached by scientists and physicians who claim to have found some kind of elixir capable of prolonging life."

"In fact Queen Elizabeth I was approached by several alchemy practitioners who promised that they could give her an elixir that would preserve her health."

The discovery of the elixir was announced at an international scientific conference held at Nazarbayev University earlier this month. - Telegraph

Kentucky's 'Bearilla'

People who've seen the Bearilla say it's a beast with wolf-like features. sounds like something found only in fairy tales. But some researchers say people have seen the creature and even been attacked by it for decades right here in Kentucky. In LEX 18's Mystery Monday, Courtney Fischer goes in search of evidence of its existence.

Kentucky's back woods keeps quite a few secrets, secrets that if you're lucky will reveal themselves. But some, no matter how patient you are, stay hidden.

Bearilla lurks in the woods, so the experts say, with the last known sighting occurring in 1989.

The broad-shouldered beast has the body of a bear, and a long, pointed muzzle like a wolf, hands with dagger-like claws and canine teeth. It's allegedly been seen through parts of Kentucky, Wisconsin, Michigan, Canada and Pennsylvania, with dozens of sightings reported.

"Course, the first case in the 1940s," said researcher Ron Coffey. "A young boy claimed to be attacked on a creek bank by the creature. I do not discount that many eyewitnesses. Everybody's just not imagining things and making it up."

Coffy's not found any bones or remains, but says he can prove Bearilla exists a plaster cast of a footprint Coffey says he found the tracks last winter in Bath County and matches the description of a Bearilla's foot. "Every single legend is based on some kind of fact," he said. Stories don't just materialize."

Coffey may have been researching Bearilla for more than two decades, but there's another person who's had his eyes on the woods for just as long. and he lives right across the street. "I think somebody's trying to start a good hoax," said skeptic John Pugh with a laugh. "That's my opinion."

Pugh says he has his own proof there's no Bearilla - his roosters and his chickens that roam his yard. and have never been attacked by a monster beast. "At night time it's always peaceful and quiet," he said, "You don't hear anything going on."

And that's enough for Pugh to know that no seven foot wolf-life creature is lurking in the woods across the way. "I'll believe it when I see it," he said.

But Coffey says it's only a matter of time until another clue surfaces or another eyewitness comes forward proving Bearillas exist.

LEX 18 wanted to talk to someone who claims to have actually seen Bearilla, but Coffey says the last surviving witness recently died. - LEX18

Missouri 'Coyote' actually a Wolf

The hunter whose bow and arrow ended the life of the 80-pound animal near Boonville, MO, Tuesday told investigators he thought it was a coyote. Wildlife Regional Supervisor John George believes it was an honest mistake. "Most people in Missouri are going to have some frequency of occurrence with coyotes, they're quite common. With wolves, the majority of the time it's probably somebody's large dog that they're seeing," said John George with the Missouri Department of Conservation. The hunter reported his kill to the department of conservation officials who then turned it over to the science division for testing. DNA samples were collected and the animal's corpse was stored in a freezer.

The largest coyote on record anywhere weighed 74 pounds, so this is either one mother of a coyote, or it's something else. Question is, what? Remember, this isn't the first time something weird's been shot in Missouri. It happened last year, too, when a 104-pound coyote was determined to be a wolf.

UPDATE:

First it was mountain lions now comes word that a 104-pound "coyote" shot in Missouri back in November is actually a wild wolf, according to DNA analysis.

From this story in the Wichita (Kan) Eagle:
"... after about 4 1/2 months the Missouri Department of Conservation has officially identified a 104-pound wild canine as a wolf after the second round of DNA testing. After the first round they announced the big animal shot opening weekend of the Missouri deer season was a coyote. The announcement drew howls of laughter from even those with only a little background in the outdoors. Coyotes very rarely exceed 40 pounds in the midwest.

"...Apparently the first round of testing compared the animal’s DNA to that of Rocky Mountain wolves. It appears to be of the type that have thrived in the Great Lakes for years."

So what's up with Missouri? Is it the new Montana? Are grizzlies next? - Filed and Stream

NOTE: This animal was far too large to be a coyote (which I support culling). The death of this rare creature is a sad event IMO, so I'm not going to post a photo. Lon

UFO encounter leads to possible alien intrusion

Lynwood, CA - 8/15/1972 - unedited: I was nine years old living in the projects of Lynwood CA. in 1972. One late afternoon several neighbors began to crowd in front of our building, which was two stories. They were excitedly talking and pointing above our home. We, my parents, brother, uncle and aunt, went outside and saw a glowing, oval object hovering over our roof. My father put me on his shoulders so that I could see better, but it began to float off towards some trees. My father along with other neighbor fathers chased it as long as they could before it disappeared.

That evening I awoke suddenly in my dark room I shared with my brother and began to see a glowing coming from the hallway. It got brighter until this stick thin glowing figure with a large, oval head walked by. Then, others began to go the other way and I was terrified they would hurt my mother (who was nine months pregnant and who I feared would die in childbirth)...until one came into my room and began to look around, picking up objects, opening drawers beginning near the door and finally reaching my bed. The whole time I was sitting in shock, not breathing, with the sheets pulled over my nose. It saw me, sat on the side of my bed and looked at me in the eyes. It glowed a greenish hue with large, dark eyes. That was the last thing I remember before I awoke the following morning. - MUFON CMS

Take it for what it's worth....

OK...I'm going to do something that I have rarely done. PROPHESIZE.

I am NOT attempting to scare anyone...I just want to put it 'out there' so some people are aware of what I'm extracting. This particular 'prophecy' has a lot of background to it...in fact, it is something that was intently examined by several somber people. To a lesser degree, we may eventually have some age-old questions answered. In particular...that we are not alone in this universe.

I've maintained for a long time that we are not the only human-types on this planet and that we live among similar-looking beings that are not human. The levels of physical existence, in my opinion, are not singular. I have also maintained that when we are given proof of other beings that it will not be in a neutral manner. There have been bits and pieces of anecdotal evidence that indicate this scenario may come to light in the near future.

Now...I'm NOT referring to Mayan prophecies, Nostradamus quatrains, Weekly World News babble or Rapture conjecture. There are certain legitimate people who are contacted on a regular basis by these ultraterrestrials. If I went into specific detail it would sound absolutely ridiculous...in fact, I probably wouldn't believe it if I read it for the first time. But over the years, I have sincerely accepted that we have been given warnings and directions. You may want to use the 'Phantoms and Monsters' search tool...there is a lot of information related to ultraterrestrial contact.

So, what's going to happen...and when? I'm not going to be specific...because I'm not sure on the action, location or date(s). I will say that over the past 4 years, most information pointed to late in the month of November. We have been closely monitoring for any signs of activity in the month for November since 2010. I have been told by one source to expect actively this November...but I feel that this has been postponed because of certain world events.

Overall, we conceive that most world governments have been aware of the situation for an extended period of time. Beyond what I have stated, the information is sparse and incomplete.

Again...I am not attempting to frighten anyone. But I do sense an obligation to publish some of what we have been told. Lon

Reader Submission: 'I was attacked by a Reptilian'

The following is an unedited report from Great Britain a few years ago:

I awoke one night in a state of which I can only explain as a spasm, my body was in a rigid state. I could not move a muscle and felt like something was on top of me.

I fought to get movement back in my body. I could not turn my head or move at all. It was like I was having a fight to get control of my body.

After a few panic stricken moments, I could just barely move my fingers, only a little bit. I then felt that there was more than just a spasm. I felt dirty and touched. It was a horrible feeling from deep inside me.

I could barely move my toes, again very slightly. My throat felt like it was being held. I could feel something was on top of me. My hands where by my side, but it felt like they were around my own throat, holding tightly. I was using all my might to break free from this spasmodic state.

Then could feel something breathing into my left ear, a sound of a growl-like noise right next to my ear. I struggled to move my head to the left, like breaking free from a strangle hold.

I could barely see the outline of a head, a big long head next to my own face. As the spasm-like feeling started to wear off, a tiny bit at a time, I could work out that this thing on top of me looked like a lizard/newt thing. It was like a blending together of all that was around it, or maybe invisible. I'm not very sure which, but I could see it clearly as the seconds passed on.

It was reptilian. I growled at it, or I think I did. My mind and my body gave all it could to do so. I bared my teeth at it and I could feel it could read my mind. I was swearing at it and shouting all sorts of obscenities at it. I felt violated and used.

The next thing, it was quickly off of me and was standing to one side of the bottom of my bunk bed. A light came through the thin gap in the curtains. There were different shades of a golden light which also had very small particles inside it, like dust or small stars which moved around like little bright lights.

This reptilian creature was about 6 feet tall. I could sense it was either proud or happy with itself, maybe both. I tried to sit up as best I could and through my mind I swore at it again.

The creature walked forward and stepped into the light beam. As it did, the feet and legs vanished into the light. The more the creature moved forward towards the window, the more of it vanished.

After it was gone I felt relaxed, but I could still feel where I was held around my throat. I felt I was raped by this horrendous monster.

I awoke to a bright sunny day. I could hear my mother downstairs, washing up and doing housework. I laid in my bed and didn't move a muscle. I ran the incident through my mind again and, yes, I could still feel where I was held around my throat.

I know this happened. My mind, heart and soul knows that this happened. For the life of me, I could not run downstairs to explain to my mother about this. Who would have believed it? How would my parents have handled such a thing? I did not know what to do?

Since that night, my stepfather passed away. I asked my mother if she believed in aliens or ufo's. She replied that my stepfather said once that he saw a ufo near Brighton while at sea in the 1960's and he swore that it was a ufo, but only told my mother this.

I never told my mother about my experience, as I thought it would be to harrowing for her to hear.

What do I do about my experience? I would love to do something about it. It may help somebody, as I am being very honest. Things like this should be disclosed. An answer has to be found on why this is happening. - Name Withheld

Just the Facts?: World's Rarest Whale -- Medieval Britain 'Vampire' Unearthed -- Brown Mountain Lights Mystery

World's rarest whale seen for the first time

A whale that is almost unknown to science has been seen for the first time after two individuals—a mother and her male calf—were stranded and died on a New Zealand beach. A report in the November 6th issue of Current Biology, a Cell Press publication, offers the first complete description of the spade-toothed beaked whale (Mesoplodon traversii), a species previously known only from a few bones.

The discovery is the first evidence that this whale is still with us and serves as a reminder of just how little we still know about life in the ocean, the researchers say. The findings also highlight the importance of DNA typing and reference collections for the identification of rare species. "This is the first time this species—a whale over five meters in length—has ever been seen as a complete specimen, and we were lucky enough to find two of them," says Rochelle Constantine of the University of Auckland. "Up until now, all we have known about the spade-toothed beaked whale was from three partial skulls collected from New Zealand and Chile over a 140-year period. It is remarkable that we know almost nothing about such a large mammal." - Phys.Org

Medieval Britain 'Vampire' Unearthed

The discovery of a skeleton found with metal spikes through its shoulders, heart and ankles, dating from 550-700AD and buried in the ancient minster town of Southwell, Notts, is detailed in a new report.

It is believed to be a 'deviant burial', where people considered the 'dangerous dead', such as vampires, were interred to prevent them rising from their graves to plague the living.

In reality, victims of this treatment were social outcasts who scared others because of their unusual behaviour. Only a handful of such burials have been unearthed in the UK.

The discovery is detailed in a new report by Matthew Beresford, of Southwell Archaeology.

The skeleton was found by archaeologist Charles Daniels during the original investigation of the site in Church Street in the town 1959, which revealed Roman remains.

Mr Beresford said when Mr Daniels found the skeleton one of the first things he did was to check for fangs in a light-hearted way.

"In the 1950s the Hammer Horror films were popular and so people had seen Christopher Lee's Dracula so it would have been quite relevant," said Mr Beresford.

In his report, Mr Beresford says: "The classic portrayal of the dangerous dead (more commonly known today as a vampire) is an undead corpse arising from the grave and all the accounts from this period reflect this.

"Throughout the Anglo-Saxon period the punishment of being buried in water-logged ground, face down, decapitated, staked or otherwise was reserved for thieves, murderers or traitors or later for those deviants who did not conform to societies rules: adulterers, disrupters of the peace, the unpious or oath breaker.

"Which of these the Southwell deviant was we will never know."

Mr Beresford believes the remains may still be buried on the site where they originally lay because Mr Daniels was unable to remove the body from the ground.

He said: "If you look at it in a spooky way you still have the potential for it to rise at some point."

Mr Beresford added: "Obviously this skeleton comes from a time in Southwell's history that we don't know much about."

John Lock, chairman of Southwell Archaeology, said the body was one of a handful of such burials to be found in the UK.

He said: "A lot of people are interested in it but quite where it takes us I don't know because this was found in the 1950s and now we don't know where the remains are.

Mr Lock said no one could be sure why the body was staked in the way it was.

He said: "People would have a very strong view that this was somebody who, for whatever reason, they had a reason to fear and needed to ensure that this person did not come back." - Telegraph

Letterkenny glue attacks: more houses are targeted

House and car doors have been glued shut in a County Donegal town for the third time in five weeks.

On Wednesday morning, up to 60 cars and houses in the Glencar Park area of Letterkenny had their locks glued by a disguised man who was captured on CCTV.

Local locksmith, Conal Kelly, said the glue renders the doors useless and they cost more than €50 (£40) to replace.

In the first incident on September 28, over 25 homes in Letterkenny were targeted.

Resident John Stevenson had his house and car doors glued shut.

"A neighbour came along and told me I had glue on my front door and the door of my car, all the houses in the row were done.

"He had a little screwdriver with him and he managed to get the glue out of both the house and the car doors so it wasn't a major problem.

"But if I had left the house and pulled the door behind me it would have been a problem there

"It was only then that I had heard that Ballymacool had been targeted before.

"It looked like it was done in a hurry because the glue wasn't right it so it was easy to get out.

"I think it is all a bit silly, the person who did this should grow up."

Gardai (police) Superintendent Vincent O'Brien has appealed to anybody who was in the vicinity of Glencar Park and Circular Road, to contact them.

"Milk delivery agents or people making their way early to work or to early morning gyms may have seen something that could help our investigation.

"We're also appealing to anyone in the Glencar Park area who has CCTV footage, even if they weren't targeted, to come forward and help us."

Gardai are known to be deeply concerned about 'copycats' and the random selection of targets.

Investigations are continuing into the incidents at St Eunan's Terrace. Locally, there has also been reports of similar attacks in the Ard O'Donnell, Convent Road and New Line Road areas. - BBC

'Brown Mountain Lights' still enchanting

No one knows the answer to the mountain’s mystery, including C.W. Smith, who has probably spent as much time around fabled Brown Mountain as anyone alive.

Smith, 67, spent 33 years with the U.S. Forest Service, patrolling the Pisgah National Forest as a federal law enforcement agent beginning in 1966.

He knows every fold of the ridge and is familiar with its marquee mystery, the so-called Brown Mountain Lights.

He grew up in nearby McDowell County in western North Carolina and never much believed the stories about nocturnal flickerings. Then while working one night, he caught sight of what looked like a bonfire on the mountain, but in a place where there were no trails.

“It started going up the mountain, too fast for someone to be using mountain-climbing equipment. It went up to the ridge line and disappeared.”

With that, Smith became a believer, he told a symposium on the phenomenon held Saturday at Morganton Municipal Auditorium.

“If you ever see them, you’ll never forget it because you’ve never seen anything like it before.”

Lights long-lived

Brown Mountain, a rugged lump in the wrinkles of the Blue Ridge, has attracted attention since antiquity because of the lights.

Folklore holds that Cherokee Indians thought they were torches held by ghosts of grieving maidens. An early European explorer, a German surveyor named G.W. de Brahm, studied the mountain in 1771 and concluded it vented “nitrous vapors which are borne by the wind.”

Other theories have been floated through the years.

In February 1913, the Observer ran through a few, including dust vented from a mica mine, then added: “Quite a few suspect that some moonshiner, who likes not the limelight, is sending up the light on a kite to frighten his neighbors and others out of that immediate vicinity.”

A U.S. Geologic Survey later that year concluded people were observing refracted lamps from locomotives on the Southern Railway. Then came the Great Flood of 1916, which washed away tracks and the theory. Trains didn’t run for a spell, but the lights stayed on the job.

A 1916 study concluded the glow was the result of “sulfurated hydrogen vapors” – better known as swamp gas.

In 1922, another geologist spent a week in the mountains and declared the lights were nothing more than auto headlights, train lamps and optical illusions. Fred May, editor of the Lenoir News-Topic, called it shoddy science.

“Weather conditions were such that he had only two cloudless and fogless nights during the week he was here making observations,” May reported.

Ball lightning theory

Dan Caton, a physics and astronomy professor at Appalachian State University in Boone, is one of the foremost academic researchers of the lights.

He believes most sightings are bogus – people are seeing campfires, headlights, aircraft, even the lights of distant Lenoir. Caton, who spoke at another symposium on the lights in February, estimates that maybe 5 percent of reports are legitimate.

He favors a theory that the lights are ball lighting, a little-understood but long-observed phenomenon. He has interviewed people who describe misty or fireworks-like miasma about as big as a beach ball floating up the mountainside, a good account of ball lightning. Why it occurs with regularity in the Linville Gorge, he said, needs to be further explored.

Caton and a team from the university are setting up a camera pointed toward Brown Mountain that will feed to the website brownmountainlights.org and should be in operation by month’s end.

Photographic evidence

One of the best pictures taken of the lights was displayed at the symposium by Charles Braswell Jr., a Taylorsville professional photographer whose work is familiar to readers of the Our State magazine.

In 2001, he shot a video of lights rising above the north ridge mountain, then opened the shutter of his camera for a 90-second time-lapse exposure. On the video, the light flared and ebbed, then crept to left, paused and drifted to the right.

On his film, it left a streak painting its path, which Braswell estimated was 3 miles long.

He said Brown Mountain is full of deception. People think they’re spying the mystery, but really only looking at campfires, mountain bikes or off-road vehicles.

“They’re unmistakable if you know what you’re looking for,” Braswell said. “There’s only one way to see the lights, and that is to spend a lot of time looking.”

A close encounter

On one still autumn night, Les Burril had a close encounter.

“Something just illuminated a few feet away,” said Burril, a career Forest Service officer who worked six years in the Pisgah.

“It looked like a candle. ... It continued to brighten for a few seconds and just sat there. Another one lit up a little farther away. I probably stood there eight or 10 minutes and watched. It moved down, smaller and smaller, then blinked out.”

Burril, assigned to hunt poachers and vandals, said he never thought much about the silent apparitions on his beat.

“We weren’t paid to look for the Brown Mountain Lights. I always looked at it as some kind of physical phenomenon. I wasn’t worried about them. Now, a guy who might rise up out of a bush under the light, yes.”

Burril, 56, retired and living in Georgia, said he has no idea what they are.

“There are guys a lot brighter than me who have tried to figure it out, and I didn’t even try.”

He’s not alone. No one knows the answer to the mountain’s mystery. - Charlotte Observer
