Madeleine McCann: Police Re-Examine Psychic Evidence

A holidaymaker has revealed how she saw a blonde girl who looked identical to Madeleine at a campsite there three days after the three-year-old went missing from Praia da Luz, a few hours' drive away in Portugal, in 2007.

Karen Sisson, 49, told The Sun that the girl was wearing a pink T-shirt, shorts and a beige hat and seemed "out of it" and out of place with the German couple she was staying with and their two curly-haired toddlers.

She said: "She seemed alienated and completely different to her family. It really was most peculiar."

The mother-of-two said her suspicions grew the next day when she saw the girl wearing the same clothes as the day before.

Ms Sisson, from Gibraltar, who saw the child at the Cabopino campsite, near Fuengirola, said she received no response from police when she raised the alarm at the time.

She left the next day but the couple stayed for another two weeks. Police have now been told that the family paid extra for bringing one more child than expected when they arrived at the site on May 6, it was reported.

Their car had a "BE" German number plate, which went out of official use 38 years ago, but Ms Sisson believes the vehicle was a blue Mercedes Vito people carrier, a model first produced in 1996.

A source close to Kate and Gerry McCann, Madeleine's parents, told The Sun that the sighting had been passed on to Operation Grange, set up by the Metropolitan Police to review the case.

The couple's spokesman said: "This lady has done exactly the right thing in reporting what she saw to the police."

The McCanns have spoken recently of their renewed hope that their daughter will be found, five years after her disappearance.

Mrs McCann said the Scotland Yard review and the release of a new picture showing how Madeleine might look now had left them feeling "probably as positive" as they had been for a long time. - telegraph

Police Re-Examine Psychic Evidence

The calls, initially dismissed due to their unusual content, will be passed to Scotland Yard as part of ongoing investigations.

It is understood around 100 phone calls were made to the phone hotline soon after Madeleine was reported missing from those claiming supernatural knowledge of her whereabouts.

At the time, police had so many calls they requested Crimestoppers filtered out some of the more diverse to allow them to focus on the facts.

Now, five years after her disappearance, Scotland Yard will be given access to them.

They are believed to be intending to catalogue them, to ensure absolutely no detail was missed. The information will then be recorded on computer databases.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “”We can confirm we are in close dialogue with Crimestoppers to ensure that all material in their possession - from any source - is shared with us.”

A spokesman for Crimestoppers said: "“Any information passed on by Crimestoppers will be in possession of the force dealing with the enquiry at the time.

"We understand that this case has now been handed over to Scotland Yard and we continue to co-operate with them.”

The news comes on the fifth anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance.

Police have already issued a photograph believed to bear a “strong resemblance” to what the now nine-year-old may look like.

The McCann family have issued a statement saying their lives have become more bearable knowing "stones are finally being turned" thanks to Operation Grange, a review by Scotland Yard investigators which had revealed "lots of new leads and new information".

In a message on the on the FindMadeleine.com website, Kate and Gerry McCann said: "It's hard to define succinctly how it feels to have reached five years without Madeleine.

“Impossible, heart-breaking, frightening, exasperating, incomprehensible. Sometimes it feels like forever and at other times, just like yesterday.

"What is certain though is that since the Metropolitan Police review was commenced last May, the chances of finding Madeleine and discovering what happened are now significantly greater.

"Additionally, albeit less importantly, our lives and those of our family have been much more bearable over the past year, simply by knowing those stones are finally being turned.

"We hope that the investigation will be reopened in Portugal soon, as this will give us the best possible chance of finding Madeleine and the person who committed this crime - of solving the case.

“The term 'mystery' (commonly used by the media) is not applicable until all possible avenues have been explored. They haven't been, and can't be until the case is reopened.

"Abducted children have been found many years following their disappearance. We cannot give up. We won't give up. Please keep looking for Madeleine.”

Prime Minister David Cameron asked Scotland Yard to review the disappearance of Madeleine because of the "exceptional" nature of the case.

A taxi driver has already come forward claiming he picked up Madeleine McCann up the night after she went missing.

Antonio Castela, 72, said he is sure the little girl wearing pink pyjamas he gave a lift to along with four adults on May 4, 2007, was Madeleine but that was not taken seriously when he reported the incident to Portuguese police.

British expat Rose Johnson, 70, also reported seeing the little girl playing on a beach in Nerja, Spain, last summer. - telegraph

NOTE: Approximately 2 years ago Irene Allen-Block and I conducted a remote view session on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. We uncovered evidence that we thought was helpful including how and where she was taken through Portugal and where she eventually ended up in a location in southern Spain. I contacted Scotland Yard and the FBI but no one was interested. We'd be willing to conduct a followup if there is interest by the authorities. I'm just afraid the trail has gone too cold since our last attempt, but the offer is still there...Lon

Holy smokes. What a sad story. I had forgotten about it. I can't even imagine the nightmare those parents have had to live the past 5 years wondering where their daughter is. Interesting detail about all the psychics that called in. (Well, maybe not all of them were, and maybe only some of them thought they had info, or wanted to for whatever reason, but interesting there were so many of those.)
