Esoterica: Ozark Ghost Photo, Djinn Attack Saudi Man and Near-Death Survivors

Paranormal Team Claims It Caught Photo of Ghost

The Ozark Mountain Paranormal Investigation Team has explored some of the areas most haunted homes.

Their skeptical team members always take hundreds of pictures in the dark.

But their most recent trip brought back a shocking image that is making believers out of the biggest of skeptics.

"The first thing I want to do is disprove it." says Robert McCall, skeptic and co-founder of the Ozark Mountain Paranormal Investigation Team.*

Robert spends a lot of time disproving apparent haunting in the region. "A lot of times people think there is a presence in the room and it turns out the room is where the breaker box is. Or your meters on the outside of the wall and there is a lot of energy there. Sometimes people think they are hearing things and it turns out they are just hearing things."

But something that happened during his latest ghost hunt left Robert with no explanation. A family in north Springfield contacted the group because of some odd things that were happening.

"All the lights were shut off and the doors were locked," says Robert. " I came around to lock up the front door and as soon as I turned the corner I heard a growling disturbance on my EVP and seen something darker then dark move around in the hallway so I just started taking pictures of a completely dark hallway with nobody there."

There was no one in the hallway but something else showed up on camera.
"When I first seen the picture, I saw a reaper," says McCall. "Typical of what you would think." Now it almost looks like a mother and child."

"First I thought that maybe he took a picture of himself in the mirror," says Courtney Cunningham, co-founder of the Ozark Mountain Paranormal Investigation Team. "But when we switched it to black and white and filtered out some of the contrast I was terrified. And I was a huge disbeliever at first that picture changed my mind."
And now this team of skeptical ghost hunters has a few less skeptics.

"Ghosts are real - ghosts are very real," says Courtney. "You just got to believe in something bigger then yourself."

Robert says the photo has been sent off to a paranormal investigative organization in the St. Louis area for authentication. - ozarksfirst

Djinn claim man in spooky valley

A Saudi man is believed to have been gripped by jinn (ghosts) during a picnic with his friends in a valley which is reputed to be haunted. But he was later treated in an exorcist-style session by the Gulf Kingdom’s religious police.

The unnamed man and seven friends from the western town of Makkah were vacationing in the nearby Taif city when they decided to descend into Wadi Al-Amak (the deep abyss) despite warnings by local people.

After a short evening trip in the valley, the colour of the man’s began to change and his behavior became aggressive before he lost balance and fell down.

When his friends tried to talk to him, he shouted and pushed them away while his eyes were fixed at an area deep in the valley.

“Friends then overpowered him and washed his face with cold water…it was clear the man was haunted by a jinn,” Sabq Arabic language daily said.

“They then decided to carry him back to town…they were told that the valley is haunted and that there were two similar cases in the past.”

The paper said the man was taken to the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the most influential Islamic law-enforcement authority in the conservative Moslem Gulf nation.

“The Commission brought experts in such cases and subjected the man to a session of Koran recitation and incense burning until the jinn was forced to get out of the man through his hand…once the session was over, the man began to restore his strength…after a while he fully recovered and started to ask his friends why he was brought to that place.” - emirates247

Near-death survivors describe life on other side

It's one of life's biggest questions: What happens when you die?

An increasing number of near death experiences, or NDEs, are being reported thanks to advances in medical science and increased resuscitations of the dead.

And several survivors have come forward to share their glimpses of what they believe is a realm beyond this life.

Houston therapist Mary Jo Rapini is among the group interviewed for ABC News programme Beyond Belief: Near Death Experiences, which follows several survivors who were clinically pronounced dead or were near dead when their encounters occurred.

Ms Rapini, who says she heard God tell her to go back after she suffered a brain aneurysm in 2003, remembers being engulfed in a pinkish glow, which prompted her to write Is God Pink? Dying to Heal.

'All of a sudden it just came over me and I was in it. I was in that light, and I came to this beautiful area.

'It's not human so it's difficult to express it humanly but the room was beautiful,' she said.

Ms Rapini rejects scientific reasoning as an explanation for her NDE.
Message to share: Reverend Don Piper of Pasadena, California believes he was sent back to spread the message that 'heaven is a real place'

Message to share: Reverend Don Piper of Pasadena, California believes he was sent back to spread the message that 'heaven is a real place'

'I had such a sense of knowingness there everything made sense... Unlike a dream that was never clear, this was so clear,' she continued. 'Scientists who say it's a dream, or - I beg to differ. It's not that.'

But her story is not uncommon.

News anchor Bob Woodruff recalls a similar experience that occurred after he was severely injured in Iraq in 2006. After his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device, Mr Woodruff remembers seeing his body floating below and seeing a bright white light during the minute he was unconscious.

Reverend Don Piper, of Pasadena, California, was travelling in a car when it was crushed by an 18-wheeler in a head-on crash in 1989. Paramedics declared him dead.

He was without a pulse, he says, for 90 minutes before he came back to life after a passer-by began to pray and sing hymns over his body.

'(The) steering wheel impaled me in the chest and then the car's roof collapsed on my head so there's just no way you could survive this accident,' he said.

But the experience he had before rejoining the living he says could not be explained as anything other than life after death.

He says he remembers music that was 'beyond spectacular' and aromas he'd never smelled before. His grandfather was there to greet him alongside several others who had died before him.

They all stood in front of a magnificent gate, with lights that were 'pulsating with life,' he said.

Mr Piper, who endured dozens of surgeries to fix his bones, had to learn to walk again. He wrote about the trauma in New York Times best-seller 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death and Life.

'You know, if I was having a dream about it, this wouldn't be in it,' he said. 'Some of these people who met me at the gates, I haven't thought of in decades.'

Near death experiences (NDEs) are defined as as feelings that sometimes occur when a person is nearly dead or has been clinically declared dead.

Many survivors report out-of-body experiences, seeing flashes of light, having awareness of being dead and meeting deceased relatives, and describe an overall feeling of calmness and lack of pain.

Scientists offer different theories as to why they occur, the most popular being the 'dying brain hypothesis' - the idea that when the brain is under stress, it releases a flood of neuro-chemicals that create flashes of light, peace and calm.

In April 2010, researchers in Slovenia reported cardiac arrest patients who had NDEs also had much higher carbon dioxide levels than those patients who did not.

Another study conducted in 2009 by University of Kentucky researchers credited their occurrence with 'blurring of sleeping and waking states.'

But often, survivors say their experiences cannot be explained by scientific logic.

He believes he was sent back to spread the message that 'heaven is a real place'.

That was also the case with twelve-year-old Colton Burpo, the Nebraska boy whose near-death experience at age four is recounted in the current best-seller Heaven Is for Real; gunshot victim Erin Smith of Montgomery also talks about her experience at age 17.

Jane Seymour famously described her near-death experience during an interview with Larry King in 2005.

An allergic reaction caused Seymour to go into anaphylactic shock. Ms Seymour said she saw light and believes 'there is some spiritual entity that's greater than us,' although she said she does not follow a specific religion.

Perhaps surprisingly, NDEs have a relatively frequent rate of occurrence - in one study reported by the Huffington Post, one in ten cardiac arrest survivors reported having them. Medical advances have led to an increased number of resuscitations, scientists say, contributing to a rise over recent years.

But debate continues over whether NDEs are spiritual or scientific in nature.

While many say their journeys through dark tunnels, flashes of light, awareness of being dead and meetings with deceased relatives cannot be explained by science, many researchers credit simple biological responses for the bizarre experiences.

The most common explanation is the 'dying brain hypothesis,' the idea that when the brain is under stress, it releases a flood of neuro-chemicals that create flashes of light, peace and calm.

Still, very little is known about the mysterious phenomenon.

Dr Sam Parnia, an expert on consciousness and death, launched the world's largest study on near death experiences in 2008 by deciding to interview nearly 1,000 survivors of cardiac arrest.

The results are expected to be released next year. -

Can Physics Explain Mysteries of Crop Circles?

Science and UFOs, as a rule, generally don't go together.

UFOs and crop circles, however, go together like the Illuminati and the dark side of the moon. Crop circles and science? Again, not so much. But that doesn't mean the ever-increasing sophistication of corn circlework isn't beyond impressing top physicists.

In this month's edition of Physics World, Richard Taylor, director of the Materials Science Institute at the University of Oregon, claims every summer brings with it more mystery as to how the produce-punishing pranksters ply their trade.

"Crop-circle artists are not going to give up their secrets easily," Taylor wrote.

"This summer, unknown artists will venture into the countryside close to your homes and carry out their craft, safe in the knowledge that they are continuing the legacy of the most science-oriented art movement in history."

While that might be a bit of a blow for those think there's a better place out there, Taylor says the technology behind the global crop-circle phenomenon is still well-deserving of admiration.

Today's designs are more complex than ever, he says, with some featuring up to 2,000 different shapes.

Mathematical analysis has revealed the use of construction lines, invisible to the eye, that are used to create the patterns.

The difference today is that where crop-circlers once used ropes, planks of wood and bar stools, high tech has taken over: GPS helps a lot, he says. Lasers also have their place.

But the most innovative modern technique involves using microwaves to force corn stalks to fall over and cool horizontally. One research team claims to have reproduced damage inflicted on crops by using a handheld magnetron ripped from a microwave ovens and a 12V battery.

The microwave technique could explain the speed and efficiency of the artists and the incredible detail that some crop circles exhibit, Taylor says.

Hang on -- bar stools?

And another question -- why does an academic feel the need to get caught up in the world of alien landing conspiracies?

Matin Durrani, editor of Physics World, said Taylor was "merely trying to act like any good scientist -- examining the evidence for the design and construction of crop circles without getting carried away by the side-show of UFOs, hoaxes and aliens." - foxnews

Bloodless Carnage: Livestock Attacks Continue in the Four Corners

WARNING - GRAPHIC MATERIAL!

JC Johnson of Crypto Four Corners has posted a new video that references a recent raid and killing of 7 sheep, including a large ram, on a farm in the Navajo lands in New Mexico. The culprit is unknown though evidence suggests a bi-pedal or upright creature. The most astonishing aspect of this particular raid is that there was very little blood found at the scene. Many of the sheep had puncture wounds but scant blood traces were left after the carnage. It didn't seem like there was any feeding on the carcasses...though the 300-400 lb. ram was dragged a fair distance.

There have been earlier reports of hominid attacks on livestock - Bigfoot Raids Farm as well as other raids / maulings by unknown entities - Sheep Mutilation Mystery - Dine' Navajo Reservation, Near Hogback, NM.

Mai-cob

There have been reports of canine-like hominids in the area...not unlike those described as shape shifters. In fact, there has been trace evidence collected at earlier events which is currently being tested for DNA.

Could this be an attack of a lycanthrope or possibly a skinwalker / Mai-cob? The activity suggests that, whatever it is roaming and hunting in the area, it will continue to do so...at least in the near future. Stay tuned for updates...

Click for video - Bloodless Carnage at Sheep Pen

This is the location where the sheep with the neck puncture wound was found...no blood splatter or pooling
Above - Example of the many fresh scratches found around the pen
Above - A series of fresh tracks were also found including a few hoof-like prints
Some examples of the carnage inflicted

-----

Coincidentally, I received a correspondence on Friday from an individual with the moniker 'Coy Criptid'. He is a resident of the Dine Navajo reservation and this is a reply to an inquiry I made in a previous post. I have not changed anything in the email....completely original:

Well, where to start......? We are not skin walkers, we are "eaters of all" (closest translation I can do to our real name, sorry) We are old, so old that some of us remember this world when it had many moons and the land flowed like water. We are not evil, nor good. We just are. In the way of modern thinking, we are like animals; not fallen from grace, and speak and hear God directly. I don't know if we have souls, because we don't die, just .... this is really hard to explain ..... we don't go dormant, just change the way we live. Right now I am Human. I look, feel, think, and act just like one of you. I will apparently die just like one of you, only to spread out from where my " mortal remains " fall or are eaten, adsorbed... or interred, mingling with the strings of life (another hard one to put into words) that come into contact with me. Until I decide to become one of them (I have sort of decided on one of the squids, we'll see how that works out). In the time between dedicated forms, we walk in our true forms, remembering all the things that we have been. Its hard to describe being many things at once, but we do go back to places we've been because the "memories of love"(?) draw us back. We watch over you as we are directed to do, letting you live your lives according to Law both good and bad as is the will of the Creator. You are right to fear us in our true forms because we do not think as humans do, but a collage of thoughts from many forms at once.

The Creator bid us to stay our feeding on you many many eons ago, but left us with the right to protect ourselves if threatened in any of our forms (careful with that fly swatter or bar of soap). We have the ability to grasp your, or any other creatures mind if we choose, and hold them while we eat. In this form it is a very unpleasant thought and leaves me nauseous just thinking about it. All of us by now (except the ones that left this world early on for "walk about" or from the great shame) have spent many lifetimes in human form and almost all of them love people deeply. Every creature on this world fears us because you are all from survivors that have sensed us in true form. We have to calm you to walk among you even in dedicated forms.

We have traits that can be used to identify us in any of our forms. The closest thing that I can call them is "tells" mine is that I don't eat feet (yuck how nasty, .....this includes fins, hooves, tips of tentacles, pads, wing feathers or anything used as contact points for locomotion blahhhhuch). One of my co cross mates (don't ask, we have 17 separate sexes, talk about a bitch on Friday nights) will not eat anything "purple" as she sees it. Another friend of mine dislikes certain forms of nerve tissue, says it makes him itch. Short of these little peccadilloes we can consume almost anything and derive energy for life from it, from sunshine to radionuclide and every thing in between, yummy (I know, I know, "feet" have all that and more too but eeuuuuwwww!!) ! I personally have always wanted to taste anti-matter but have never gotten around to going above the cloud tops to taste any. Well, I am rambling on a bit too much, and I have to go to sleep because I have to go to work in the morning, I thought you should know some more about what we are.

With best regards,
Coy Criptid

NOTE: well...what do you make of that? Is it simply legend or are these beings really among us? Lon

Just the Facts? - NJ Bigfoot Sightings Increase, Buttock Slasher Warning and Another Ripper Suspect

Urban Bigfoot Sighting Increase in New Jersey

Bigfoot spotters in New Jersey are reporting their own version of Sasquatch in ever-increasing numbers. Called "Big Red Eye" by locals, the sightings started in the 1970s and have been getting a little more attention lately, possibly due to the popularity of television shows heating up the subject.

But New Jersey is no stranger to mysterious creatures stalking the extensive, and still somewhat remote, forests of the state. Their NHL team gets their name from the most pervasive legend, the New Jersey Devil. So this new Bigfoot legend is a relative newcomer.

But it doesn't mean there aren't ardent believers. "Big Red Eye" is being stalked itself with trackers who now have an impressive array of surveillance equipment which opens up the nighttime option of having their wits scared out of them. And worse.

It stills leaves time for a little philosophical reflection. As Bigfoot Research Organization tracker Mike Arragona puts it, "We have all this technology. We put a man on the moon. We have satellites. We have all these different things, but here's a creature that could be living right under our noses that has mastered something we have long lost: how to survive in the woods."

So it looks like New Jersey is an up-and-comer as a new hotspot for Bigfoot sightings. But if they ever actually find one, don't be too surprised if this one sports a bouffant hairstyle, drinks until its tipsy and is addicted to spray-on tans! - gather

Police warn young women to be aware of buttocks slasher

The suspect, described as a heavy-set Hispanic man in his late 20s, distracts women before slashing them across the bottom with a box-cutter or razor.

In the most recent attack, an 18-year-old woman was slashed through a pair of denim shorts as she browsed for clothes at a Forever 21 outlet in Fair Oaks Mall on Monday evening.

She told police she noticed several clothes falling from a rack behind her, saw a man bend to pick them up, then felt a ‘sharp pain’ in her rear.

The victim believed it was just a coat hanger that hit hear behind, until she realised her denim shorts had been sliced and her bottom was cut and bleeding.

According to police, there have been at least six similar attacks in the county since February, all targeting women in their late teens or early 20s.

The last attack before Monday’s was on June 20 at the Marshall’s department store in the Greenbriar Shopping Centre.

The bottom slasher also struck on June 18 at H&M at Tyson’s Corner Mall; May 15 at the Ann Taylor outlet at Fair Oaks Mall; and February 14 at the Champs, also at Fair Oaks Mall. …

The attacker could be suffering from a sexual disorder known as piquerism, which means he gets sexual gratification from stabbing or cutting his victims with sharp objects, former FBI profiler Gregg McCrary told Virginia’s News & Messenger. - dailymail

The Mystery Monster at Chiang Rai

Often paranormal stories will follow a central theme or be related to a well known phenomenon. Entities are said to be like other existing creatures or entities or else they often are connected to a long string of stories that become lore and eventually out-strange their predecessors. But the story of the creature in Chiang Rai in Thailand started extremely odd and only got stranger. What’s more, the entity seemingly came out of nowhere and was witnessed by several people right from the start.

There’s a definite difference between stories about creatures like The Mothman of Point Pleasant and the more widely accepted Bigfoot (and Yeti) seen throughout the world. One of them seems to be an actual physical being interacting with the world around it like other physical beings while others seem to be only limited in their interaction with our world - sometimes appearing more ghostlike than physical and carrying with them a sense of impermanence perpetuated by forces unknown to us as if they had somehow leaked into our world from a higher dimension. Such is the case with the mysterious creature of Chiang Rai that appeared in a field one morning in 2005.

The first witness, a Sawaeng Bunratchasak found himself in a field near his residence at approximately 8:30 in the morning. It was the last day of August, and Bunratchasak was striding through the field before the mid-day heat set in when he caught glimpse of something strange hovering in the sky. Thinking it might be a roughly anthropomorphic contraption of some sort, Bunratchasak watched closely as a strange entity danced and hovered in the space directly above the field in large circles, bounding rapidly around as if attempting to observe the area around it.

Sawaeng Bunratchasak’s description of the creature suggest it was shorter than a person, had no arms, and had incredibly large red eyes, which it used to take in and gaze at the field around it. The creature then suddenly stopped in mid-air and turned to Bunratchasak giving him a nod that looked quite communicative to the frightened witness as though it wanted him to do something to help it out of an increasingly strange situation. Fleeing the scene, Bunratchasak related the story to villagers who then returned to the field without him and later reported that they had seen the creature as well.

When the creature left, however, it was reported that it suddenly turned black and shot up into the air where a strange rift of light was glowing. After the creature disappeared, so did the light. After analyzing the eyewitness accounts several people have suggested that this creature was somehow an alien that was visiting Earth and was spotted before it was “beamed back” onto its ship.

Of course there is another theory. Many of the qualities described with this mystery creature suggest it was not behaving according to physics as we understand them. The creature had mass and likely weight, but was not seemingly bound to the Earth. And the light it was later pulled into seemed almost like a gateway between worlds had been opened and pulled the creature through. Is it possible the creature could have been a lost dimensional traveler that eventually “snapped back” to its own plane of existence? The strange mystery remains unsolved. - unexplainable

Is this Jack the Ripper?

Suspects have ranged from a member of Royal Family to a local butcher – but it is now claimed that Jack the Ripper was the very detective who led the hunt for the killer.

Chief Inspector Frederick Abberline of Scotland Yard was the man who murdered and mutilated at least five women in Victorian East London – at least according to Spanish writer Jose Luis Abad, 84.

He makes the claim in his book Jack the Ripper: The Most Intelligent Murderer in History, published in Spain this week.

Mr Abad is a handwriting expert and has compared Abberline’s writing with that in the Ripper’s diary – which surfaced in Liverpool in 1992.

Mr Abad, says: ‘I have no doubt Abberline was the Ripper. Handwriting does not lie.’

The diary was attributed to a Liverpool cotton dealer called James Maybrick – whom others have identified as the Ripper.

But many experts say the diary is a hoax. Mr Abad believes it is real, but that the author was Abberline, not Maybrick.

Other theories link the Ripper murders to Queen Victoria’s grandson, Prince Albert Victor.

The detective was placed in charge of the Ripper investigations following the murder of Mary Ann Nichols in August 1888. He died in 1929 aged 86 at his home in Bournemouth.

Michael Caine played Chief Inspector Abberline in the 1988 TV movie Jack the Ripper, and Johnny Depp played the policeman in 2001's From Hell.

Jack the Ripper brought terror to the capital by butchering at least five prostitutes in Whitechapel, east London, between August and November 1888. On one infamous night, he murdered two women within minutes of each other.

An analysis of his methods revealed that several of the Ripper's victims had their throats cut, while those killed also had organs removed such as the uterus or the heart.

It has been claimed that before every slaying the Ripper would spend time drinking spirits in the pub before taking a stroll throughout the Whitechapel neighbourhood with lowered inhibitions.

After each killing he would return to a safe area where he could wash the blood from his hands and get rid of soiled clothing.

The case remains one of the world's greatest unsolved murder mysteries and over the years many suspects have been brought into the frame including Prince Albert Victor, Queen Victoria's grandson; Sir William Gull, the Queen's physician; and Sir Walter Sickert, a renowned painter of the time.

Identity parade: New Scotland Yard's four suspects in the Ripper case (from left to right) include Montague John Druitt, Michael Ostrog, Aaron Kosminski and Dr Francis J.Tumblety

At the time of the incidents New Scotland Yard boiled it down to four suspects but similarly they were unable to nail the murderer.

The pseudonym Jack the Ripper came from a letter posted to a London news agency at the time of the murders, supposedly from the killer himself but it was later dismissed as a hoax.

Last month it emerged Scotland Yard is fighting a legal battle to withhold secret Ripper files compiled by Special Branch officers in the 1880s. - dailymail

Roadkill Creature Still Mystery After DNR Examination

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources officials have been unable to identify a mystery carcass found in Douglas County with certainty, prompting further investigation.

The dead white mammal was spotted this week on a Douglas County road with five claws, dark tufts of hair on its back and head and long toenails.

Roadkill is nothing new for Minnesotans, but this curious creature got people talking.

Lacey Ilse said she was driving near her home on County Road 86, south of Alexandria, when she spotted the mysterious mammal.

"We saw something in the middle of the road, and we knew it wasn't a dog or a cat, because it didn't have hair. It had a clump of hair and all the rest was just white skin," Ilse said."it's ear was all mis-shaped. To me, it looked like half-human."

Ilse said she soon posted pictures of the animal on Facebook, and rumors and speculation took off.

"It just shot out like wildfire. everybody was putting it on their Facebook pages. And then, their friends were putting it on their pages," she said.

Noelle Jones sent the pictures to KSAX Monday, and after posting them on the KSAX Facebook page that night, more than 175 comments have been posted about the unusual animal, with guesses ranging from a skunk, badger, wolverine, wolf, or even proof of the mythical chupacabra.

Folks in Alexandria Wednesday had their own ideas.

"First guess was a badger with like, a case of mange. But then, some other people were saying, like a chupacabra. and after looking at some pictures, I was like, 'you know, it's possible," Jones said.

"It kinda looks like a 10-year-old wolf," Austin Becker of Alexandria said.

"Almost looks like a pig, with paws? I don't know, or a wolf," Kaitlin Van Horn of Morris said.

Glenwood DNR Area Wildlife Supervisor Kevin Kotts used the process of elimination to give his answer.

"It's got five long front claws on each of its front feet, which would be characteristic of a badger," Kotts said. "I ran the pictures past a few other DNR folks that have a lot of trapping and/or fur-bare experience, and they all said, it's hard to be 100 percent sure what it is ... but if it's a Minnesota animal, it's probably a badger."

But Ilse, and just about everyone else who has seen it, can't be so sure.

"If you're looking at the top half, it definitely looks like a dog that's kind of been torn apart. But, I'm not sure what to make of the back part," Igor Simanovich of the Twin Cities said.

"It's a strange animal and i hope we don't have anymore around here," Jane Murphy of Alexandria said.

"You know how they do their government secret testing on animals? and I know it sounds crazy, but I've never seen an animal like this," Ilse said

Jason Abraham, with the Department of Natural Resources, said he thinks it may be a domestic dog, but he is still left with questions.

"The head suggests a canine, very likely a domestic dog," Abraham said. "However, the right front foot appears to have five toes, which is not typical for canines. Also, the long toenails are not typical for an active canine."

Ilse said some of her guinea hens and cats are missing and suspects the animal or others in the area may be to blame. Several burrowed holes ranging from four to ten inches in size were also spotted near where the animal was found.

Ilse said Kotts was able to check the creature out Wednesday afternoon and said it's similar to a badger but has a much longer tail than usual, and took the carcass in for further testing. - ksax

NOTE: kind of reminds me of the giant rats from 'The Princess Bride'...Lon
