New Mothman Sightings in Mertztown, PA and New Miami, OH

I received the following anecdotes as a result of my previous posts New Sighting of the Conewago Phantom and Mothman Sighting - Middletown, Ohio:

Mertztown is in Longswamp Township in eastern Berks County, Pennsylvania

Good morning,

As I sit reading this article, it amazes me that no one caught one of these things yet. I understand that if something with a 25-30 ft wingspan flies past you, you're not going to grab your camera as a first instinct.

My son and I saw this monster thing last summer in Mertztown, PA. We were parked on the side of the road in a heavily wooded area when this thing casually glided up the road. It looked big enough to carry a full grown man away with no effort. When the wing flew over the hood of my car, we instantly ducked down. This thing had a round human sized head with no beak (hence the term man-bird), and huge bat-like wings. Now I would never tell this story if it wasn't for my 16-yr-old son sitting in the backseat who also witnessed it on that summer day. I'm a pretty capable guy, not too many things can shake me, but this thing scared the hell out of me. Here is what I saw:

The body was 5-6 ft in length easy, wing span was 25-30 ft easy, no feathers, bat like skin, jet black, and a 4-5 ft skinny (rat or dragon) like tail that stuck straight out. This thing didn't fly like a bird, it glided about 10 ft off the ground at a VERY slow speed. After 50-75 ft of gliding, it took one huge flap of the wings, never changing elevation, and glided up the road till it disappeared into the woods. I'm convinced this thing lives underground, probably near some sort of hot spring cause it has no feathers.

Well that's my story. Feel free to reply with any questions, that 45 second event will forever be etched into memory. I say we find it and catch it, I would love to see it again up close.

New Miami is in central Butler County in the southwestern part of Ohio

The intersection where this creature was seen

On Monday May 9th, 2011 around 5:45am, I was on my way to work headed north bound in to the village of New Miami on Seven Mile Avenue. I left the traffic light at the southern most edge of town in to a dark stretch of road when a large flying creature swooped in over my car and snatched up a small animal in the road ahead of me at the edge of my head lights. As a construction worker, I feel I can judge the size of objects fairly well. This creature had a wing span of at least 12 feet and was jet black. It completely blocked the view out of my windshield and then some and moved at a very high rate of speed. I was traveling between 35-40MPH. It had to have been traveling at around 70-80MPH. Like I stated before is swooped down grabbed the animal and was gone over the trees very quickly. I've researched large predator birds and raptors indigenous to Ohio and there are none that fit the description of what I saw. If you have any other questions about my experience please feel free to email me back. Tex

Fortean / Alternative News: Russians Report Alien Attack In Texas / 500 Deaths

Russian Report: ‘Alien Attack’ Leaves 500 Dead In Texas As UFO ‘Fleet' Nears Earth

Sorcha Faal - A shocking report prepared by the Federal Space Agency (FKA/RKA) for Prime Minister Putin states that one of the United States most important space facilities, located in Fort Worth, Texas, was attacked this past week by ‘alien forces’ intent on destroying “Vimāna” technology transported their after its discovery by US Troops in Afghanistan, and as we had previously reported on in our December 21, 2010 report “World Leaders Flock To Afghanistan After Mysterious ‘Time Well’ Discovered”.

According to this report, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Aviation Systems Division, located on a remote section of the giant Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and responsible for engineering the software needed to control the airspace over North America, suffered a nearly half-hour long “sustained” attack resulting in the deaths of over 500 US Military and space contractors working on “Vimāna” technology.

Most incredible to note about this ‘alien attack’ upon the US was its being videotaped, but quickly explained away by America’s propaganda media as being nothing more than ‘transformer explosions’ caused by lightning, even though no such thing appears in the video and no explosive sounds can be heard at all.

Important to note about “Vimāna” technology is that this mysterious aircraft is the long-known mythological flying machine described in the ancient Sanskrit epics that existed prior to the last overturning of our Earth and were purported to have weapons eerily similar to today’s atomic bombs.

The reason for the Americans transporting the captured “Vimāna” technology to their NASA facility in Fort Worth, this report continues, was to attempt its use in one of the United States most secret flying machines described as “The Black Triangle” said to have been “reverse-engineered” from alien technology and stationed there since the late 1980’s.

'Fireballs' reported in east Fort Worth

star-telegram - Fire and police dispatchers were busy Tuesday night answering calls about "fireballs" in the sky and on the ground in east Fort Worth.

Several transformers were struck by lightning in east Fort Worth Tuesday night, Oncor spokeswoman Jeamy Molina said.

Repair crews worked through overnight Wednesday through the afternoon after the lightning strikes "destroyed" some of the transformers, Molina said.

About 550 power outages were being reported in the Metroplex as of noon Wednesday, with most of them in the Fort Worth area, Molina said.

The number of outages have been reduced from the 4,000 outages reported late Tuesday, Molina said.

About 210 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes were reported in Tarrant County between 8 and 9 p.m., said National Weather Service meteorologist Matt Mosier, who said he couldn't pinpoint the exact locations.

Some 120 more incidents of lightning striking the ground were reported from 9 to 10 p.m., Mosier said.

Mosier said he didn't know if it had to strike the transformer directly or the ground close to it but if the lightning carries a large enough electrical charge, it can "blow" a transformer.

At 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, police officers were blocking East First Street from about Beach Street to Oakland Boulevard.

The calls began coming in about 9 p.m. in the White Lake Hills area along Interstate 30 east of Oakland and west of East Loop 820.

Star-Telegram columnist Bob Ray Sanders said that whatever it was, it was dramatic.

"I've seen lightning strike, and this was no lightning," he said. "It may have been precipitated by lightning strikes."

Sanders said he was at his home, which backs up to Randol Mill Road, when he saw "blazes up in the air."

"I saw fire in the sky and on the ground," he said. "I saw 10 or 12 explosions. It was like someone was dropping bombs."

After his power went out, he got in his car to investigate and found that street and signal lights were not working.

There were two fires west of the Riverbend Estates, north of I-30 and west of Loop 820, he said.

Anselma Knabe, who lives near Randol Mill and Oakland, said she heard some kind of explosion about 9 p.m.

When she looked outside, "sparks were showering everywhere," she said. "I thought the house was going to catch fire. Luckily, we have a metal roof."

The police scanner was noisy with chatter as officers called for assistance.

"I need someone from Oncor out here for a transformer on fire," one officer said.

A dispatcher said they were swamped with similar calls and said, "I'll add you to the list."

Fort Worth firefighters responded to several calls involving transformers and electrical problems Tuesday night, Fort Worth Fire Department spokesman Tim Hardeman said.

There were several calls about a possible lightning strike at a transformer substation at 4800 Randol Mill Road just after 9 p.m. after repeated sightings of flashes and explosions, Hardeman said.

There was also a report of a transformer on fire at the Five Star Custom Foods storage facility at 3709 East 1st Street at about 10:04 p.m., Hardeman said.

It's not known at this time if the transformer belonged to the food storage facility as it did not suffer a power outage, Hardeman said.

City health inspectors were called to the scene as a precaution, Hardeman said.

Red Tide Fears Cleared Up

Residents of Lyme Regis in Dorset were startled recently when the sea took on a distinctly red colour, as shown in the photograph above. Some locals feared the end of the world or a biblical plague, while other theories ranged from a butchered whale to a bloom of algae.

The mystery was cleared up when it was discovered the authorities were using coloured dye to test the drainage system! This became particularly apparent when they switched from red dye to a rather fetching shade of green.

Sturgeon strike: Woman hurt after big fish jumps through boat's windshield

orlandosentinel - A 27-year-old Pinellas County woman last month became Florida's first victim of the year of a sturgeon strike, officials reported this week.

Erica Stevens of Safety Harbor suffered cuts on her arms and legs when a 5-foot-sturgeon crashed through a windshield while the woman and her husband were boating on the Suwannee River in Gilchrist County, nearly three hours north of Tampa.

The sturgeon strike was reported to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission on April 28. The agency investigated and released findings Thursday.

Investigators are not sure whether the fish ever made contact with Stevens, who was sitting behind the passenger windshield at the time.

Her husband, Scott, was operating the boat as it traveled about 15 mph on the river, which has had a problem with sturgeon strikes in the past.

"The sturgeon also struck the bimini-top support and the motor cowling before coming to rest inside the vessel. The Stevens' 1973, 15-foot Lightning boat sustained approximately $2,300 in damages," the agency said in a report. "Scott Stevens told investigators he threw the sturgeon back into the river but thought it was dead."

Scott Stevens rushed his wife to Shands Hospital in Gainesville for treatment.

Officials launched a public-awareness campaign in 2006 to inform boaters about the potential dangers from jumping sturgeon in the Suwannee River.

"We certainly don't want to scare anyone off the river," Maj. Lee Beach, a law enforcement commander of the agency's North Central Region, said in a statement. "The Suwannee is beautiful, and we want folks to come out and enjoy their trip. We just want to remind boaters that the sturgeon are back in the Suwannee, and they are jumping during this time of year."

Officials say the best way boaters can avoid colliding with a jumping sturgeon is to reduce speed. That reduces the risk of impact and gives boaters more time to react.

"Biologists are unsure why sturgeon jump,'' the report said. "Gulf sturgeon can get quite big, exceeding 8 feet and 200 pounds."

State and federal laws protect sturgeon. "The Gulf sturgeon is listed as threatened, and their harvest is prohibited,'' the report added.

This Week On 'Beyond the Edge' Radio - Parapsychologist Dr. Barry Taff

This week on the program our good friend Dr. Barry Taff returns for another visit to BTE Radio.

Dr. Barry Taff, who holds a doctorate in psychophysiology with a minor in biomedical engineering, is a world-renowned parapsychologist who worked out of UCLA’s former parapsychology laboratory from 1969 through 1978 as a research associate. During his 43-year career, Dr. Taff has investigated more than 4,500 cases of ghosts, hauntings, poltergeists and conducted extensive studies in telepathy and precognition, which led to the development of the initial protocols and methodologies for what was later termed “remote viewing.” He was also himself investigated as a psychic subject in 1969, the results of which were published in Behavioral Neuropsychiatry, “A Laboratory Investigation of Telepathy: The Study of A Psychic,” Vol. 6, Nos. 1-12, April-December 1974-January-March, 1975.

One of the cases Dr. Taff investigated in 1974 gained international fame as the book and motion picture, The Entity, starring Barbara Hershey, released by Fox in 1983. Dr. Taff served as technical advisor on The Entity as well as being represented in the film by the character of “Gene Kraft”. What’s unknown by the media is the fact that, in real life, The Entity followed its female victim for quite some time after our initial investigation, continuing its vociferous nature. The victim’s current whereabouts or condition is unknown.

He has consulted for government, business, and law enforcement, including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), National Security Agency (NSA), Defense Language Institute (DLI), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the FBI, Interpol, LAPD, California Highway Patrol, Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department, and the Westminster Police Department.

In the spring of 2010, Dr. Taff’s new book; Aliens Above, Ghosts Below: Explorations of the Unknown was published by Cosmic Pantheon Press (, whose title is self-explanatory. To learn more about Dr. Taff or his book, visit his website at

Fortean / Alternative News: Virginia Meteor, ET Detection Primitive and Weird Bird Found in Iran

Virginia Fireball Now Said to Be Meteor, Not Rocket

A loud boom rattled Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore but the source is a mystery.

Media outlets report that the mystery boom occurred Tuesday night. It was reported in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake and Suffolk.

Some residents reported that the disturbance shook their homes.

The U.S. Geological Survey’s reports show no seismic activity at the time.

A spokeswoman at Oceana Naval Air Station says a sonic boom from the base wouldn’t be heard as far away as Suffolk.

A NASA spokesman says there wasn’t any rocket activity at the Wallops Island facility that could cause such a noise.

National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Rusnak says there wasn’t any severe weather at the time. Continue reading at WashPost

A brilliant fireball in the Virginia sky on Sunday was likely a natural meteor event and not the remnants of a Russian rocket, scientists now say, a reversal from yesterday’s initial analysis.

On Monday, Geoff Chester of the U.S. Naval Observatory told that the loud boom and flash of light seen in the skies over Norfolk and Virginia Beach was likely the second stage of the Soyuz rocket that launched Expedition 19 to the International Space Station last Thursday.

However, U.S. Strategic Command has since reported that the rocket re-entered Earth’s atmosphere near Taiwan, on the other side of the world, several hours after the reports of the fireball. So both its timing and entry location rule out the rocket as the explanation for the fireball.

“Well, we’re all entitled to a ‘mulligan’ now and then, right,” Chester wrote in an email, adding that he deferred Strategic Command. (A mulligan is a do-over in golf.)

“However, it is still a remarkable coincidence that a random rock would fall out of the sky along a path that is very similar to the ground-track of a decaying rocket body,” Chester added. “But this is what makes science fun!”

The evidence now suggests, he said, that the loud boom and streak of light was created by a natural meteor, or bolide, burning up as it plummeted through Earth’s atmosphere.

“I’m confident that this was a meteoric event,” Bill Cooke of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama said this morning. Continue reading at space

Earth's Technology May be Too Primitive to Detect Advanced ET Life (Uh...I've been saying that for years)

dailygalaxy - Some of the world's leading astronomers -- including Great Britain's astronomer royal, Sir Martin Rees -- believe aliens, rather than using different radio waves or visible light to signal, may be using an entirely different communication medium such as ghostly neutrinos or with gravitational waves (ripples in the fabric of space-time) or using communication mechanisms we cannot begin to fathom.

“The fact that we have not yet found the slightest evidence for life -- much less intelligence -- beyond this Earth," said Arthur C. Clarke, "does not surprise or disappoint me in the least. Our technology must still be laughably primitive, we may be like jungle savages listening for the throbbing of tom-toms while the ether around them carries more words per second than they could utter in a lifetime."

Lord Rees, a leading cosmologist and astrophysicist who is the president of Britain’s Royal Society and astronomer to the Queen of England believes the existence of extraterrestrial life may be beyond human understanding.

“They could be staring us in the face and we just don’t recognize them. The problem is that we’re looking for something very much like us, assuming that they at least have something like the same mathematics and technology."

“I suspect there could be life and intelligence out there in forms we can’t conceive. Just as a chimpanzee can’t understand quantum theory, it could be there as aspects of reality that are beyond the capacity of our brains.”

Frank Drake, the founder of SETI and Drake's Equation, believes that satellite TV and the “digital revolution” is making humanity invisible to aliens by cutting the transmission of TV and radio signals into space. The earth is currently surrounded by a 50 light year-wide “shell” of radiation from analogue TV, radio and radar transmissions. According to Drake, digital TV signals would look like white noise to a race of observing aliens.

Although the signals have spread far enough to reach many nearby star systems, they are rapidly vanishing in the wake of digital technology, said Drake. In the 1960s, Drake spearheaded the conversion of the Arecibo Observatory to a radio astronomy center. As a researcher, Drake was involved in the early work on pulsars. Drake also designed the Pioneer plaque with Carl Sagan in 1972, the first physical message sent into space. The plaque was designed to be understandable by extraterrestrials should they encounter it.

Milan Cirkovic of the Astronomical Observatory in Belgrade, points out that the median age of terrestrial planets in the Milky Way is about 1.8 gigayears (one billion years) greater than the age of the Earth and the Solar System, which means that the median age of technological civilizations should be greater than the age of human civilization by the same amount. The vastness of this interval indicates that one or more processes must suppress observability of extraterrestrial communities.

Since at this point, there is no direct and/or widely apparent evidence that extraterrestrial life exists, it likely means one of the following:

We are (A) the first intelligent beings ever to become capable of making our presence known, and leaving our planet. At this point, there are no other life forms out there as advanced as us. Or perhaps extraterrestrial life does exists, but for some reason extraterrestrial life is so very rare and so very far away we’ll never make contact anyway -- making extraterrestrial life nonexistent in a practical sense at least.

Or is it (B) that many advanced civilizations have existed before us, but without exception, they have for some unknown reason, existed and/or expanded in such a way that they are completely undetectable by our instruments.

Or is it (C) There have been others, but they have all run into some sort of “cosmic roadblock” that eventually destroys them, or at least prevents their expansion beyond a small area.

Since Earth’s placement in space and time appears to be unremarkably random, proposition “A” seems fairly unlikely. Assuming humans evolved like other forms of life into our present state due to natural selection, then there's really nothing all that mystical, special or remarkable about our development as a species either. Due to the sheer numbers, there are almost certainly other planets capable of supporting at least some form of life. If that is so, then for Earthlings to be the very first species ever to make a noticeable mark on the Universe, from a statistical perspective, is incredibly unlikely.

For proposition “B” to be correct would defy all logic. If potentially thousands, or even millions of advanced extraterrestrial civilizations exist in the known Universe, then why would all of them, without exception, choose to expand or exist in such a way that they are completely undetectable? It’s conceivable that some might, or perhaps even the majority, but for all of them to be completely undetectable civilizations does not seem likely either.

Proposition C in some ways, appears to be more likely than A or B. If “survival of the fittest” follows similar pathways on other worlds, then our own “civilized” nature could be somewhat typical of extraterrestrial civilizations that have, or do, exist. Somehow, we all get to the point where we end up killing ourselves in a natural course of technological development and thereby self-inflict our own “cosmic roadblock”.

Weird bird carcass found in Iran

The dead body of a strange dinosaur-like bird has been reportedly found near the city of Meshginshahr in the northwestern Iranian province of Ardebil.

The locals found the feathered bipedal creature, which seemed to have died a few days ago, near a remote village of Meshginshahr, IRNA reported on Sunday.

A team of officials of Iran's Environment Protection Organization (EPO) were dispatched to the region to investigate whether the reports were true.

One of the villagers has reportedly hidden the carcass and the EPO team is trying to find it. The team has managed to obtain a photo of the creature taken by one of the locals.

The team has also found evidence that confirmed the locals' claims the bird lived in a cave near the village.

The creature has a reptilian skull with long canine teeth and large molars. It has small wing bones like those of flightless birds.

The avifauna of Iran includes a total of 527 species, none of which are similar to the found creature; however, the discovery needs ornithologists to verify the claims.

Scientists believe that fossil evidence demonstrates birds and dinosaurs shared many features such as hollow bones, gastrolith in the digestive system, nest-building and brooding behaviors.

The discovery of fossilized Tyrannosaurus rex soft tissue also suggests that the 68-million-year-old dinosaur and birds are closely related to each other. - presstv

Mountain Lion Sighting Confirmed in Oregon County, Missouri

The Missouri Department of Conservation has confirmed a mountain lion sighting earlier this month.

MDC says a tuft of hair was left on a barbwire fence along Highway M on March 9. It was collected and tested following a report from a neighbor who saw the animal run across the road and stumble while trying to jump the fence.

Those DNA tests on the cotton ball-sized tuft of hair confirm the sighting of a full-grown mountain lion, "Puma concolor."

The department says the University's laboratory does not have adequate reference material to evaluate the cat's possible relationship to mountain lions from different geographic areas.

"We want to find out as much as possible about where the animal might have come from," says MDC Resource Scientist Jeff Beringer, in a statement, "so we will send the remaining hair sample to a genetics lab in Montana to determine the cat's likely origin."

Beringer says testing could take several weeks to months.

This is the sixth verified mountain lion sighting in Missouri since late November and the 16th in modern time.

MDC says in cases where carcasses have been available for examination, most have been young males. Young male mountain lions go in search of new territories when they mature.

Beringer said MDC has no evidence to suggest that a breeding population of mountain lions exists in Missouri.

Mountain lions, also called cougars, panthers and pumas, were present in Missouri before pioneer settlement. The last documented Missouri mountain lion was killed in the Bootheel in 1927. The closest populations of mountain lions to Missouri are in South Dakota and a small population in northwest Nebraska.

Beringer said that MDC has never stocked or released mountain lions in Missouri and has no plans to do so. - ozarksfirst

Witness: Cylinder Shaped UFOs Rendezvous / Transfer Occupants

A rendering of one of the objects

I received the following email last evening that refers to a remarkable encounter experienced by a very reliable witness:

I want to share something strange and unusual that happened on this Easter Sunday night April 24th.

I had been to a Church's Easter Service night Cantata in Texas. I was driving to get back home on a desolate Farm to Market Road as their was not much traffic on it day or night.

The night was very clear and stars were bright and beautiful. I saw in the east as I was driving east a very bright star or at least, that is what I first perceived, but then I noticed that this star or object was moving, so I in turn, pulled my vehicle off on the side of the road to get a better view. It kept approaching and getting larger as it came forward and finally to a complete stop. I got out of my vehicle to get a better look.

I realized, that this was not a star and it was rather a huge object, sort of like a silver cylinder and it had red, orange, green and white lights on top of it. I thought this was strange, by this object coming to a complete standstill and I could not hear any noise.

I just for a second glanced to my left, which was North and I saw this other bright star, again that is what I again perceived coming from the North and as it came closer, it had the same color lights on it.

Well it approached the other standstill object it came to a standstill also. I was amazed and I happened to look at my watch and it was 10:15 PM.

The two objects remained stationary and the only thing that was active were the rotating lights on both objects. After about 10 minutes, the object that came from the north extended a wide red laser or something similar to the other object and that went on for about 15 minutes...they seemed to be a distance between the objects when this wide red laser went to the other object and it reminded me of someone or something rolling out a red carpet. At times, I saw what looked like little black dots within this red whatever.

After about 15 minutes, this red carpet started retracting back in to the north object. When that happened, this object from the east after close to 5 minutes, started moving sideways to the south, then moved upward and then shot to the south at a high rate of speed and finally disappeared.

The other northern object, after the other object had disappeared going south, it started to lift high and then it shot off at a high rate of speed back to the north, whence it came from and disappeared.

I don't know what I saw that night, but I will never forget it, I have not spoke to anyone about what I saw.

So I figured they were making a transfer of something or maybe not, but I have thought about this red carpet scenario several times since as well as what these two objects were, that came together side by side and became stationary and after the red carpet whatever, both objects left at a very high rate of speed and disappeared. Very strange indeed. But anyway, this is what I saw on Easter Sunday night. I eventually made it home, but my thoughts of these two objects, were on my mind and for days to come, I still think about them from time to time.

Thank you for taking the time to read whatever encounter, I had with two unknown objects.

P.S. I do not do drugs or drink!.

Tommy D.

NOTE: Though I was not told of the location, I believe this incident took place in northeast near the Oklahoma-Texas border. The witness is fairly well-known so I'm going to hold off posting the identity for now. If I get a confirmation of the location and any other information, I will update here...Lon

UPDATE: After an inquiry, I received the following from the witness:

I apologize for not getting back with you before now.The incident occurred in Northeast Texas between Paris, Texas and Hugo, Oklahoma on FM Road 195 where the Church was located.

I stated in my earlier email to you, that the objects, looked cylindrical, because of the multi-colored lights that were flashing were on top and the length of them on the objects showed that they were on a cylindrical object, not a circular one. Again, there was no sound and when they left, it was at a high rate of speed and just vanished. The rolling out of the "Red Carpet" scenario, was really strange as it was a bright red in color and what looked like black dots of some kind and those were not visible at first, but I suppose 2 minutes into what I call a "transfer" then they appeared on the "red carpet" and they looked like they were moving on the "red carpet".

That's about all I can say about whatever I saw that night, but I do think altogether, it was very strange indeed.

Pacific, Missouri: UFO / Military Air Battle and Flying Humanoids

MUFON CMS - Pacific, Missouri - May 7, 2011 - unedited: My girlfriend and I saw at least 20 UFO's over Pacific MO at 11pm May 7th. We saw them fly in straight lines and would turn unlike any aircraft I have ever seen.

They would be moving slow and them stop and then just dart.

We also saw one fly right over our house and when it got above us it glowed a bright white. We also saw some kind of aircraft chasing a few of them and even what looked like the aircraft was shooting at it. I saw flashes from the plane in the direction of the UFO.

This lasted maybe 30 seconds then the plane flew off. You could see the difference between the UFO's and the planes. We saw many of aircraft fly around the area for quite some time during and after the event.

We had at least 5 other people that saw this as well. This took place right around the big dipper at 11pm. I watched the sky till 1am and I would see a UFO every now and again. Please contact for more info. Thanks.

Human Adult-Sized Flying Cryptid Near Pacific, Missouri

This email was forwarded to me on October 26, 2009:

We were in Pacific, MO, tonight around 11:30 PM and noticed a massive flying creature, not once but three times. My son even noticed it on his own the third time. We were near a large cliff/mountain with some type of cave openings. We don't live in the area, I can say for sure we turned onto a road called Viaduct Road, went past a fire station and continued on for about 1 mile before we first noticed it. It was brownish/grey and the body portion was at least the size of a large adult human. This creature was tracking us - in a circle pattern. We were driving an Escalade with the blue color headlights and this may have cause interest in us. The third time around we viewed it in front of the vehicle, around the driver side and around towards the rear of the vehicle. The factory tinted windows did help it vanish into the sky from out point of view.

Please understand when we could see it the range must have been about 150 feet in the air, not more than 250 feet. The distance was never less than 100 yards, often much greater. We were going about 35- 45 MPH. I have never thought of anything like this in my life! It is 3:33 AM and my son and myself are wide awake in a hotel, 17 miles away from the place we first noticed the creature. Please notify me if you become aware of similar sightings. Thanks.

NOTE: Honestly, I think both of these accounts were written by the same person...similar style of writing in both accounts. If anyone has any knowledge on the witnesses or information on these sightings, please feel free to contact me. BTW, this location is very close to the infamous Zombie Road near Glencoe, Missouri...Lon

Fortean / Alternative News: North Dallas Triangle UFO, The Rapture 5-21-2011 and Thai Hotel Deaths

Triangle UFO Over North Dallas, Texas

MUFON CMS - North Dallas, Texas, 5/9/2011 - unedited: So as usual I was star-gazing (and watching for any "strange lights") from my front patio. As I moved my eyes over towards the Santa Cruz mountains I noticed a very bright orb which was pretty much stationary except it kinda moved left and right a little. During this time, there were a few planes flying by it, but maybe a mile distance away. Now the way these planes were moving by it was from North to South. I'd like to also add that this is not a normal flight path, and the only time planes or choppers fly in this area is during any strange light activity. When the planes did fly nearby (it was a total of three), the "orb" would get even brighter then dim down just a bit after they passed.

I remembered to get my camera out to try to get some photos this time. I zoomed in as much as possible and took about 15 photos. When I reviewed them, most came out looking like a galaxy of rainbow colors from the movement it was making, but in two, you can make out the shape of a triangle. After I took the photos, I went to the computer to upload them which took about 5-7 minutes. Meanwhile I kept checking back every few minutes to see if it was still present. At 2320 hours, I went back out to check again, and it was completely gone.

Next week I should get my telescope back from the shop, and will be able to see things better, and will be able to take pics through my tele. I have noticed a pattern though. These "lights/orbs" seem to hover in one area for a 2-3 day span at the same time every night, then move onto another area and do the same. Maybe they are scoping out areas for something. This event last night was not too far from the Cupertino quarry. Maybe 3 miles away. There is so much activity in this area, and I wonder if there is some mineral or something they are after.

Why the world might end next Saturday - May 21, 2011

Spring is finally here -- but apparently, the apocalypse will be fast on its trail. That's the word from a slight but outspoken group of spiritual devotees who believe that the world as we know it is coming to an end.

Maybe you've already encountered the literature: pamphlets, subway ads, billboards on the side of the highway. "Judgment Day is coming" reads one billboard, which features a man praying in silhouette against a sunset backdrop. These are the works of a peculiar breed of Christian activists who've taken to the road to preach their belief in the fast-approaching End of Days. The self-appointed harbingers are not tied to any particular church -- they claim organized religion has been corrupted by the devil -- but rather to Internet- and radio-based ministries. And their lone mission is to tell anyone and everyone that the end of days is May 21. That's when, they insist, God's true believers will be lifted into heaven and saved, during a biblical event widely referred to as the Rapture. Mystery deaths plague Thai hotel...bed bug pesticide may be to blame

Did a three-star Thai hotel inadvertently kill six of its guests while trying to poison bed bugs?

Between January and March, six people suffering from virtually the same medical symptoms died after staying at the Downtown Inn in Chiang Mai or using its facilities.

Authorities maintain the deaths are just a coincidence.

But an investigation by New Zealand's "60 Minutes" news program discovered high levels of the pesticide chlorpyrifos, a chemical used to kill bed bugs, in the hotel room where New Zealand backpacker Sarah Carter, 23, died in February. Reporters pretending to be guests took samples from the room.

The UK Daily Mail reported that Thai police recently raided the company in charge of eradicating insects at the hotel.

"I think (Carter) has been killed by an overzealous sprayer who has been acting on the instructions of the hotel owner to deal with the bed bugs," United Nations chemical expert Dr. Ron McDowall told the Daily Mail.

McDowall said the symptoms experienced by Carter were consistent with chlorpyrifos poisoning, which causes headache, nausea, dizziness, muscle twitching, weakness, increased sweating and salivation, unconsciousness and convulsions.

He explained that it's difficult to confirm poisoning from blood samples because chlorpyrifos is quickly absorbed by the body - "it only has a half-life of a day or so."

The symptoms shown by all six victims - severe chest pain, vomiting and fainting - are often associated with food or water poisoning. Indeed, police initially dismissed the deaths as food poisoning from eating toxic seaweed.

Shortly after Carter's death, a retired British couple, George Everitt, 78, and his wife, Eileen, 73, were found dead in their room. They had eaten seaweed at a street food booth, but another guest had a different meal there and also got sick. She recovered.

The death of Bill Mah of Edmonton - found in his hotel room in January - was attributed to "suspected natural causes."

A young Frenchwoman and a Thai visitor also died at the hotel between January and March.

A report that a Berkeley woman died after staying at the hotel was incorrect. Mariam Soraya Vorster, 33, did suffer the same symptoms before she died while visiting Chiang Mai in January, but she was staying at a guesthouse in the city. Her husband blames the food she ate - sushi and seaweed.

The Downtown Inn remains open, with rooms starting at $41 a night. - sfgate

Bad Ass Housecat Send Man to Emergency Room by Air Ambulance

A Cleveland (TX) man was attacked by a housecat Friday afternoon and the man’s injuries are so severe that he had to be taken by air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

The altercation between the man and the animal occurred at a home on CR 3182 a few miles south of Cleveland in Liberty County.

At some point during the attack, the man and the cat reportedly were injured by a knife the man was holding. The man was taken to Cleveland Regional Medical Center before being transported to Houston. - yourhoustonnews

New Sighting of the Conewago Phantom

I just received an email today in reference to another winged humanoid sighting in northeast Adams County, PA (edited for spelling):

Sir - on Sunday, May 8th at dusk I was traveling east on Hunterstown Rd. Rt. 394 towards Hampton, PA. Just before I started to cross Conewago Creek I plainly saw a large creature with wings fly over the bridge in front of me. It was about 100 ft. in front of the car. The creature was dark in color and was as big as a full grown adult human. I looked in the direction in which it flew but I lost sight of it. I asked a neighbor (I live in Hampton) if she had ever heard of anything like this. She said there was a rumor of a sighting near the Boy Scout camp a few years ago. I searched the internet and found your story including the second sighting near Dick's Dam. Have you determined what this thing is? Is there a chance that it could hurt anyone? I appreciate your time. Eileen

There was another sighting reported at Camp Conewago in 2008 but a specific location was not determined. There have been 4 reported sightings in an approximate 8 square mile area to date.

The first inquiry I received after I described my encounter near Camp Conewago was in 2008. I received an email from a man who lived a mile or so downstream from this incident (near Dick's Dam). He stated that he caught sight of 'something big' and had heard similar screams for many years and that the frightful sounds continued to this day.

A Boy Scout leader also emailed me approximately the same time and wanted to tell me that while camping at Camp Conewago, a few of the boys in his troop had witnessed what they described as a 'dragon' that was 6 foot tall with wings and a tail....but looked like it had fur or feathers. He said that the boys seemed serious but thought they were 'showing off' and dismissed their claims until later when he read the account of my experience. He never stated where the sighting took place in the camp area.

Since that time, I have continued to check up on the area to see if anything strange develops. The Native American folklore and stories from settlers who inhabited the area offer several possibilities as to the identity of this cryptid but to date, I have not been able to make a plausible theory as to what is being heard or seen.

Crop circle may have predicted a comet or new solar system planet on the New Moon of June 1, 2011

Over slightly more than a week in June of 2009, a large new crop picture appeared at Milk Hill in southern England in three separate phases (see milkhill2009c or or lucypringle). Almost two years later now in April of 2011, still no one seems to understand what they were trying to tell us there!

While we were studying several crop pictures which may predict an enigmatic “planet X” for December of 2012, we came across some distinctive astronomical symbols in Milk Hill of June 2009. Those distinctive symbols suggest that it may refer to an upcoming date in June of 2011. To be more precise, the Milk Hill crop picture of 2009 seems to show a rare planetary alignment which will only occur once in the near future on June 1, 2011. It also shows an extra anomalous symbol to represent a “new astronomical object” in our solar system, currently of unknown origin, which will supposedly be seen on the same date.

The new object could be a “comet in outburst”, as we saw predicted in crops between 2005 and 2007 for Comet 17P Holmes (see time2007g or time2007h). Alternatively, it could be our first glimpse of the enigmatic “planet X”. Interestingly enough, those crop artists counted it in their Milk Hill field diagram as an “extra planet” between Mars and Jupiter. The unknown object is not Comet Elenin, nor is it Comet Holmes in a second outburst.

The first part of Milk Hill on June 21, 2009 showed an “astronomical sextant” with five different planetary orbits attached, as may be seen when looking up into Earth’s sky. Continue reading at Milk Hill of June 2009 seems to predict a new, bright astronomical object in our solar system, possibly a comet or even an “extra planet”, on the new Moon of June 1, 2011

Owls attacking dogs in Phoenix neighborhood

Residents in an Ahwatukee Foothills neighborhood enjoy watching great horned owls fly around their homes but found out through a close call that those birds can be dangerous to small dogs.

"We just couldn't believe it," Carol Smith said. "We always thought (the family dog) was safe as long as we were in the yard. We used to let him just lay out there, before it gets too hot. Then the owl came down once. It was pretty shocking."

The couple has been watching two owls in their neighbor's tree for at least six weeks. The two adult great horned owls built a nest in the palm tree and have been staying nearby to take care of the babies. Around sun set each night they begin to fly around and hunt for food.

"We were sitting out and the big owl was in the pine tree behind our house," said Dan Smith, Carol's husband. "I was watching him fly back and forth. It wasn't unusual at first because a lot of times they'll sort of swoop down and go back up. By the time I realized that he wasn't going back up he was across the neighbor's yard and his talons were so close to my dog. I stood up and clapped my hands."

The owl was scared away by Dan's reaction and didn't end up getting the dog. Since then they've learned they may need to be more diligent about keeping an eye on their dog.

The Smiths have seen the owls snatch birds out of the air and they've found pieces of rabbits and birds left behind but they never imagined the owls would come after their dog. Since their close call they've heard stories of friends in Sun City who had owls try to get dogs that were on a leash.

Darren Julian, urban wildlife specialist for Arizona Game and Fish, says the owls may be searching for food when they come after dogs or they may just be protecting their young.

"If they are nesting and they have young then they're going to need more food to feed the young," Julian said. "A domestic pet may be something they could use as a food source. The other thing is they may look at the pet as a potential threat to their young, especially as the young are getting ready to leave the nest."

The Arizona Game and Fish Department groups owls with other birds of prey such as falcons, eagles and hawks and gives them the name of raptors.

They say the birds can be beautiful to watch and helpful for keeping the rodent population down but they may cause problems when they try to take domestic pets.

According to AZGFD's website,, raptors are attracted to areas that have water sources and owls especially like building nests in high places for a better view for hunting.

They eat rodents, birds, snakes, rabbits and insects and can also hunt small animals like dogs, cats and chickens. They're most common during their migration period from September to April.

Raptors are protected by law so unless they are causing major problems or are in danger of hurting themselves, they should not be removed.

The Smiths say they don't want the birds removed. They enjoy watching them each night.

"You just have to be more diligent," Dan said. "I'm not wanting to get rid of them. I might be singing a different song if he had gotten my dog."

AZGFD recommends keeping small pets in an enclosed area or supervising them while outside. If a bird starts to dive at people it's a good idea to carry an umbrella for protection and avoid the area. The bird is probably trying to protect its nest. AZGFD also warns that raptors may spend a few days on the ground while learning to fly and they should not be touched unless they look sick or injured.

This is the first time the owls have come to this neighborhood. It's hard to tell how many babies they started with but at least two have fallen from the tree and died. One remains and may be there awhile until it learns to fly. Once the baby is gone the owls will probably go further away from the nest. For now they'll stay within eye sight of it, Julian said.

Until then the Smiths are enjoying watching them fly and keeping a close eye on their small dog. - msnbc

6 Wackiest Osama bin Laden Conspiracy Theories

William and Kate Tipped on bin Laden Killing

Bin Laden's death bumped the birthers out of the news—it also bumped off the royal wedding. Could there be a connection between the two huge media stories? The Daily Mail thought so, and managed to track down a professor from the University of Buckingham who said he “would not be surprised” if Prince William and Kate Middleton had been forewarned about the top secret raid on bin Laden's compound. After all, the royal couple postponed their honeymoon just before bin Laden's death was announced. The Mail even asked a palace spokesman if there was a connection. He insisted there was none.

Bin Laden Worked for the CIA

Self-styled independent journalist James Corbett called the news of bin Laden's death a “retirement party for an old CIA asset, along the lines of Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963.” Like the theory that bin Laden has long been dead, it's another story from the 9/11 Truth movement that's been updated for the news of bin Laden's killing: bin Laden was always just a scapegoat for the September 11 attacks, and now that he was no longer useful, the CIA decided to tie up the loose ends. “Whether he actually did die yesterday or he's been dead for years, or whatever the case may be, this is simply discarding a war on terror bogeyman who's no longer scaring the populace,” according to Corbett. Iranian security official Javad Jahangirzadeh took a similar view, saying that bin Laden had been part of an American plot to create a violent image of Islam, and now that his work is done, he's been killed.

One wag suggests bin Laden was part of an American plot to create a violent image of Islam, and now that his work is done, he's been killed.

The CIA faked the new videos

If there was ever a question about whether photographs of bin Laden's body would convince skeptics, look no further than the response to bin Laden's home videos. In a post titled “Hoax,” a writer at libertarian Alex Jones' site, Info Wars, says the videos, which were released “in a desperate effort to bolster its crumbling official narrative,” are a bit too similar to other videos release in 2007 by a “Pentagon front group.” The Pentagon has a history of passing off old bin Laden videos as new and creating its own, the Info Wars blogger writes. Another blogger points out differences in bin Laden’s beard between the new videos and older ones, and wonders whether the videos are “the smoking gun conspiracy theorists have been looking for.” The CIA actually has faked a bin Laden video before, as the Info Wars blogger points out, though it's not one you've ever seen played on the news. The Washington Post reported last year that the CIA made a propaganda video showing a fake bin Laden sitting around a campfire “swigging bottles of liquor and savoring their conquests with boys.”

Osama bin Laden is not dead

Surprisingly, this seems to be the less popular of two main conspiracy theories. For obvious reasons, this version is more popular among the Taliban than in the United States. But even in the U.S., some raised doubts about whether bin Laden had really been killed. Fox Business News host Andrew Napolitano asked guests “whether the government is telling us the truth or pulling a fast one to save Obama’s lousy presidency.” On Facebook, a little over 2,000 people somewhat ambiguously “liked” a page called “Osama bin Laden NOT DEAD.” The posters on the wall seem to mostly think it was a ploy to get Obama reelected.

Osama bin Laden was already dead

A more palatable theory for those who want to believe both that bin Laden is dead and that the U.S. government is perpetrating a vast fraud, this one actually has been around for years. The gist of it is that bin Laden died of kidney failure or was killed by U.S. troops in Tora Bora and that his body has been frozen for a decade, held as a trump card that two different administrations have been waiting to play. Different people give different reasons for why Obama would play the card now, 17 months before the election. Some say to bolster his flagging ratings, others to distract attention from his birth certificate issue. Urging everyone to buy gold, one blogger claims bin Laden's death was faked in order to distract the public while Obama stole everyone's pensions to pay for the national debt. Iran's intelligence minister, Heidar Moslehi, also saying bin Laden had been dead for years, claimed that the terrorist’s killing was a hoax meant to distract people from an Islamic awakening.

No Women in the Situation Room

While not exactly a conspiracy theory, this at least qualifies as a bit of unexplained intrigue: One Hasidic Jewish newspaper appears to be boldly proposing that no women were with the president and other security chiefs in the Situation Room during the raid on bin Laden’s compound. Most people are familiar with the now-ubiquitous photograph, which rocketed to the top of flikr within days of being released, showing Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and other administration honchos in the Situation Room. Well, the Brooklyn-based Hasidic newspaper Der Zeitung Photoshopped Hillary Clinton and administration official Audrey Tomason out of the photo. The paper had no comment on its photo, but many conjectured that the picture was doctored either because of editors’ concerns about immodesty or desire not to show women in positions of power. - Yahoo

Real paranormal sleuth on fakery in film, TV

Like the morons who ignore a zoo’s warning sign not to tease the animals — then end up regretting it when a tiger jumps the moat and mauls them good and plenty — those who wake the dead for fun and profit should see their own destruction coming a mile away.

So when a fiction film like “Grave Encounters” (which recently screened at the Tribeca Film Festival) shows you raw footage of an exploitation-minded group of paranormal investigators locking themselves inside an insane asylum during the “peak hours of dead time,” there’s genuine pleasure to be had from watching them slowly lose it as they’re stalked by spooks.

Flip channels on any given night, and you’ll come across at least one “Reality TV” program that follows paranormal investigators (of wildly inconsistent skill and sincerity). They bait and bully the dead, run around with night vision cameras like a group of laser tag nerds on a company-sponsored outing, and generally get all jumpy when the slightest thing goes bump in the night. So we thought it would be fun to invite a sober and responsible real-life paranormal investigator to see “Grave Encounters” — and we were right!

Readers may remember Dan Sturges from this scaredy cat reporter’s October 2010 visit to a Sturges Paranormal ( investigation of Manhattan’s genuinely haunted Merchant’s House Museum.

Chelsea Now: How often do occult rituals unleash paranormal activity upon a shape-shifting insane asylum, resulting in the gruesome deaths of all inside?

Sturges: Never.

CN: Really…not even occasionally?

Sturges: Never.

CN: As horror movies go, what did you think of “Grave Encounters”?

Sturges: It was pretty good. I loved the concept of spoofing the current crop of paranormal shows and then picking off the cast members one by one. The Vicious Brothers did a great job — but being young filmmakers, they’ll learn that they don’t have to throw the kitchen sink at you. The movie could have done with a little editing. Instead of ten pretty scary bits, why not have five really scary bits?

CN: How are those ghost hunting TV shows regarded by paranormal researchers?

Sturges: I get a kick out of them. Some are good, and some are just plain ridiculous. They give just a small look into what happens on an actual investigation, minus the creepy music. I have met most of the people on these shows, and all are really great, nice people who know how to conduct a proper investigation. These are entertainment shows, not science documentaries. The people who take this field serious, the real parapsychologists and field investigators, for the most part, find these shows amusing — and probably a little helpful. I know I have stolen an EVP question or two!

CN: Electronic Voice Phenomena; supposed ghostly voices picked up on digital or analog recording devices.

Sturges: I liked that they showed an analog recorder to use for capturing EVP. They gave the TV explanations of the equipment, which is cool I guess, because that’s who they were spoofing. The other stuff, residual and intelligent hauntings, they were correct about. They showed the night vision camera shots because it’s what the TV shows use. They use night vision because it’s a lot scarier than just having the lights on. Any true investigator will tell you that you don’t need to turn out the lights. How else are you going to see what’s going on if you’re in the dark? I’d rather not be tripping over or bumping into things all night long.

CN: The “Grave Encounters” crew was seen paying witnesses to give false testimony and faking stuff. Is that standard practice in the world of Reality TV?

Sturges: I do think there is a lot of re-creating going on. Anyone with a good eye can easily spot something fishy. These shows have to deliver, otherwise they get canceled. Could you really imagine people tuning into a show that has its cast sitting in a room for hours at a time and nothing happens? Welcome to the world of paranormal investigations. - ChelseaNow

The 1945 New Mexico UFO Crash Encounter

Illustration by James Neff - based on the description by Reme & Jose

Preamble: On August 16, 1945, 20 mile southeast of San Antonio, New Mexico, Reme Baca and Jose Padilla literally stumbled across the remains of what they believe to have been an alien spacecraft. Their personal account of the case displays many of the key ingredients of crashed UFO lore.

Incident: In August of 1945 Jose Padilla and Reme Baca said they were sent out on horseback from the Padilla Ranch in San Antonio New Mexico tasked to check on Jose’s father’s herd of new cows.

What they were sent to do and what they claimed to have experienced was nothing short of what actually occurred to them that frightening afternoon.

With their horses tethered as they hid behind a rock in the distant reaches of the New Mexico desert – Jose 9 and Reme 7 years of age at the time – were awe-struck by the sound of thunder and the grinding thud of something strange that came to earth on the Padilla Ranch in San Antonio New Mexico.

With trepidation tendered by child-like watchfulness they approached the crash site to within 200 yards to witness a craft stuck in rock and sand; its charred 30 foot hull shrouded in dust and burned ash had skidded to rest at the end of a wide plough-like furrow the length of a football field.

Using binoculars they saw strewn wreckage, strange creatures and military activity that would haunt them for days to come and – for the rest of their lives.

Another artist's rendition

All of this occurring two full years before the archetype of all UFO crashes on the Foster Ranch outside the small town of Corona New Mexico a mere 67 miles from Roswell.

These astonishing claims, made by Jose Padilla and Reme Baca, have been researched and recorded by Denver author/researcher Paola Harris who – in conversation with ZlandCommunications – detailed how these two young Hispanic children: saw at least three creatures in the unusual oval shaped craft, had, some days later, climbed into the craft itself to retrieve pieces of the wreckage after guards had vacated the area and, how they were told by State Police to be quiet about what they had seen. -

Debris claimed to be from the crash site

Born on the edge of Ground Zero, living in the shadow of Area 51, two little Hispanic children experienced an extraordinary event occurred in August of 1945.

Jose Padilla, age 9 and Reme Baca, age 7 witnessed a saucer crash on Padilla land in the town San Antonio, New Mexico. They were witness to one of the most spectacular events in UFO history.

This new book entitled the same “Born the Edge of Ground Zero, Living in the Shadow of Area 51, was released February 2011 and is Jose Padilla’s and Reme Baca’s detailed account of what happened in their childhood. They explain what they saw the actual crash, the creature’s appearances, the pieces they took, the military clean up and an in-depth analysis of the significance of this case.

First printed in The Mountain Mail, Soccorro, New Mexico on November 2, 2003 by journalist Ben Moffet, the case was passed to me, journalist/researcher, Paola Harris in May 4, 2009. The desire to finally disclose the details and the kind invitation of Reme Baca, led me to fly to Gig Harbor in Washington State in the Northern part of the United States to interview witness Reme Baca and his wife, Virginia in July 2010. Consequently because he now lives in California, I interviewed Jose Padilla by telephone from the Baca house. During my two day stay, I was able to see and photograph the piece that Jose extracted from the craft and study the detailed analysis of its composition done in Europe.

It is one of the most astounding cases I have ever covered in my career and it helps complete the puzzle of why there has been so many crash retrievals in New Mexico. As journalist Ben Moffet who so beautifully describes the cover-up, we can begin to see where it fits in UfO history.

“It was in this crucible of suspicion and disinterest bred by familiarity that a small contingent of the U.S. Army passed almost unnoticed through San Antonio in mid-to-late August, 1945 on a secret assignment.

Little or nothing has been printed about the mission, shrouded in the "hush-hush" atmosphere of the time. But the military detail apparently came from White Sands Proving Grounds to the east where the bomb was exploded. It was a recovery operation destined for the mesquite and greasewood desert west of Old US-85, at what is now Milepost 139, the San Antonio exit of Interstate 25.

Over the course of several days, soldiers in Army fatigues loaded the shattered remains of a flying apparatus onto a huge flatbed truck and hauled it away. That such an operation took place between about Aug. 20 and Aug. 25, 1945, there is no doubt, insist two former San Antonioans, Remigio Baca and Jose Padilla, eyewitnesses to the event.

Padilla, then age 9, and Baca, 7, secretly watched much of the soldiers' recovery work from a nearby ridge.” -

The entire interview can be found at Interview With Reme Baca, Washington State and Jose Padilla in California

NOTE: other than their interviews with Ben Moffett and Paola Harris, the witnesses have been fairly tight-lipped over this incident. Because of the amount of time it took for the witnesses to finally come forward with the information, their claims need to be examined much further...Lon

Red Light Anomaly Seen Near Moon

MUFON CMS - Arizona - 5/5/2001 - unedited: I enjoy taking photos of the different phases of the moon. I do so on a regular basis, opportunity permitting. I was off on Thursday (05-05-11) and out in the yard w/dog around 20:?? I saw a nice photo op of the Moon sliver 2nd day after new. I went and grabbed my camera (Fuji Finepix S1000fd)and tripod. I shoot in manual mode and as I'm a rookie amateur, I start low with shutter speed and quick check the display and adjust accordingly.

As for the Event, I didn't really see it in full bloom until I transferred the photos to pc. I took a series of about 20 pics. Since I can only send 3 files, I will focus on the first 5 pics taken. The first 2 (#49 & 50, not incl) were overexposed (approx 6 sec. exp). The next two, #51 & 52, are the shots of interest. Both shots are at 1 sec exposure (the Moon shot value is lame as I was warming up, but...). I also include #53 as it taken within the same minute as 51 & 52 but shows nothing but the Moon.

On shot (#51), (set for a 1 sec exposure w/2 sec delay) I noticed a red spot on my screed display of my "moon shot". As I didn't see it with my naked eye, I thought it was probably some "noise" so I refocused and took another shot (same settings)approx. 30 seconds later. This time I noticed 2 red dots (on the review screen) well below the area where I saw the first (in relation to the moon).

I was kinda curious but didn't want to miss the photo op for the moon sliver so continued my shoot.

About an hour later, I uploaded the pics to my pc and took a look. After some magnification, I know what I think I see. Curious as to what you come up with.

One of the suggestions here is to describe how I feel during, after etc.;

I am an avid astronomer who sincerely believes in other intelligent life somewhere out yonder but also believe that if "they" are smart enough they can see us, We won't see them. Gotta stay open minded though.

I hope these pics have enough resolution for you decipher something of value/interest and you have as much fun looking at them as I do.

Morality replaced by insanity in China

A motorist in China allegedly hit a six-year-old girl by accident, and then returned to his car and hit her again, in the latest suspected murder of a hit-and-run victim, state press reports.

Saturday's accident in Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province, comes after a man was sentenced to death last month in China for fatally stabbing a woman after first hitting her with his car, the Global Times said.

The incidents, which often involve hit-and-run drivers, have led to hand-wringing over the moral standards in the nation, whose citizens have become increasingly brash following 30 years of booming economic growth.

The killing in Fuzhou occurred as numerous witnesses watched in shock. The unnamed driver, seeing he had hit the six-year-old girl, returned to his car and hit her again.

"He drove back, and ran the right front wheel over the girl again," the local Strait Metropolitan Daily quoted witness Chen Yi as saying.

"I was immediately so frightened that I closed my eyes. It was so horrible."

The girl was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, the report said. A police investigation is ongoing.

Last month, 21-year-old music student Yao Jiaxin was sentenced to death in the northern city of Xian after confessing to hitting a woman on a bicycle and then stabbing her to death after he got out of the car.

Yao said he killed her because that "peasant woman would be hard to deal with" in the aftermath of the accident, state press reports said.

Yao's case has sparked a national debate over China's "rich second generation," a group of youths raised during the boom whose morals have been called into question.

In January the son of a senior police official, 23-year-old Li Qiming, was sentenced to six years in prison after a hit-and-run.

In another incident, Tian Houbo, 21, was arrested for hitting a beggar on a roadside in southwest China's Chongqing city in December and then returning to the scene and running over her again with his truck, the Global Times said.

"Since I killed a beggar, I didn't think anyone would pay any attention to her," Tian was quoted as telling the Chongqing Morning Post yesterday.

"I was afraid of future trouble so I chose to kill her." -

NOTE: I know the West is crooked as well....but these quick changes in China may eventually lead to uncontrollable corruption and chaos. Kind of sounds like the former China...Lon

Earthquake prediction for Wednesday, May 11, 2011, has Rome in a panic

If tourists find Rome unusually quiet next Wednesday, the reason will probably be that thousands of locals have left town in fear of a devastating earthquake allegedly forecast for that day by a long-dead seismologist.

For months Italian internet sites, blogs and social networks have been debating the work of Raffaele Bendandi, who claimed to have forecast numerous earthquakes and, according to internet rumours, predicted a "big one" in Rome on May 11.

The national television network RAI has run programs aimed at calming rising panic among Romans. The civil protection agency has issued statements reiterating the official scientific view that earthquakes can't be predicted.

Yet many residents of the Eternal City aren't listening.

"I'm going to tell the boss I've got a medical appointment and take the day off," barman Fabio Mengarelli told Reuters. "If I have to die I want to die with my wife and kids, and masses of people will do the same as me."

Chef Tania Cotorobai also said she would be taking a day off in the country. "I don't know if I really believe it but if you look at the internet you see everything and the opposite of everything, and it end up making you nervous," she said.

Memories are still vivid of the 2009 earthquake in L'Aquila, which killed more than 300 people and was also felt in Rome.

On that occasion controversy also swirled around a scientist, Giampaolo Giuliani, who in the preceding days tried to warn the local population of an imminent quake -- though officials say he was wrong about its precise location.

Bendandi, who died in 1979 aged 86, believed earthquakes were the result of the combined movements of the planets, the moon and the sun and were perfectly predictable.

In 1923 he forecast a quake would hit the central Adriatic region of the Marches on January 2 the following year. He was wrong by two days but Italy's main newspaper Corriere della Sera still ran a front page article on "The man who forecasts earthquakes."

Bendandi's fame grew and in 1927 he was awarded a knighthood by Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. During his long career his theories were studied by several prominent foreign astronomers.

However the current panic appears to be due more to fear-mongering in the age of internet than to Bendandi himself.

Paola Lagorio, the president of an association dedicated to Bendandi and which preserves all his manuscripts, says they make no reference to any earthquake around Rome in 2011. - reuters

Samurai Sword-Wielding Bin Laden Hunter Demands Share of U.S. Reward

A samurai sword-wielding American who waged his own personal quest to capture Usama bin Laden demanded Tuesday a share of the official $27 million reward following the terror chief's death.

Gary Faulkner, a construction worker from Greeley, Colo., who came to international attention after being arrested in Pakistan last year, told ABC News he had served the Al Qaeda leader "up on a platter" for U.S. authorities.

"I had a major hand and play in this wonderful thing, getting him out of the mountains and down to the valleys ... Someone had to get him out of there. That's where I came in," he said. "I scared the squirrel out of his hole, he popped his head up and he got capped.

"I'm proud of our boys, I'm very proud of our government ... They were handed this opportunity on a platter from myself."

Bin Laden was killed by U.S. Navy SEALs during a raid on a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan on Sunday.

Faulkner, who was found with a pistol, a samurai sword, night vision goggles and a map when detained by Pakistani authorities last June, said while his quest was not about money, he deserved some compensation.

"It wasn't about me. I wanted to bring him to justice. I'm not greedy, but I sold everything I had and I put my life on the line," he said.

And Faulkner flatly rejected the suggestion that bin Laden had been living in the high-security compound in Pakistan for years.

"He hadn't been living there for no damn six years," Faulkner said. "I absolutely flushed him out."

The State Department said it would not comment on the reward. - foxnews

Lloyd Pye, Starchild Researcher, Talks on 'Beyond the Edge' Radio

Starchild Project researcher Lloyd Pye joined Eric and myself on Sunday, May 8th on BTE. Lloyd detailed the newest DNA analysis on the Starchild skull...essentially proving that it was not a hybrid being but an unknown alien entity. Further testing and confirmation are required in order to present a complete and irrefutable presentation to the scientific community. This will require funding. Lloyd is looking for investors in order to expand project. If you are interested in helping bridge science and reality, please go to or The Starchild Project.
