I received the following email on Friday from JKH of Goodland, Kansas:
I have emailed you before about things I've seen, but I'd like to see if you know anything about something I read years ago.
It was about the Dogon tribe in Africa, and their "history sticks". I saved the link on an old computer, but it is not functioning at the moment. I started out on some site about conspiracy theorists, but ran across the article about the Dogons. One of those "you can't stop reading" type things. Was about 10am when I started...in May...and next thing I knew the sun was going down.
Anyway, long story short, they were told by "the alien fish people" about 2 stars near Sirius (that have been confirmed by science about 5000 years after the history sticks that have the info), which the fish people were from a planet near them, and they were returning. Anyway, this isn't something to really post, but it was an amazing read, and if you've never heard of it, you might try and find it.
Well, I enjoy a challenge...so I went digging.
They are believed to be of Egyptian descent. After living in Libya for a time, they settled in Mali, West Africa, bringing with them astronomy legends dating from before 3200 BCE.
At the center of their religious teachings is knowledge about a star that is invisible to the eye and so difficult to observe (even through a telescope) that no photographs were taken of it until 1970. The Dogon say they received their knowledge by visitors to the earth from another star system.
The star they describe is Sirius B. Its existence was first suspected by Western astronomers in 1844, when irregularities were detected in the movement of Sirius. It was supposed that Sirius must be affected by a second star, and in 1862 a faint companion star was finally detected. Sirius B is a white dwarf that, although small and faint, is extremely dense and heavy enough to exert an influence on Sirius A.
The Dogon name for Sirius B (Po Tolo) consists of the word for star (tolo) and "po," the name of the smallest seed known to them. By this name they describe the star's smallness...it is, they say, "the smallest thing there is." They also claim that it is "the heaviest star," and white. The Dogon thus attribute to Sirius B its three principle properties as a white dwarf: small, heavy, white.
They go on to say that it has an is elliptical orbit, with Sirius A at one foci of the ellipse (as it is), that the orbital period is 50 years (the actual figure is 50.04 +/- 0.09 years), and that the star rotates on its own axis (it does). The Dogon also describe a third star in the Sirius system, called "Emme Ya" ("Sorghum Female"). In orbit around this star, they say, is a single satellite. To date, Emme Ya has not been identified by astronomers.
In addition to their knowledge of Sirius B, the Dogon mythology includes Saturn's rings, and Jupiter's four major moons. They have four calendars, for the Sun, Moon, Sirius, and Venus, and have long known that planets orbit the sun.
The Dogon say their astronomical knowledge was given to them by the Nommos, amphibious beings sent to earth from Sirius for the benefit of mankind. The name comes from a Dogon word meaning "to make one drink," and the Nommos are also called Masters of the Water, the Monitors, and the Teachers.
The Nommos were more fishlike than human, and had to live in water. They were saviors and spiritual guardians: "The Nommo divided his body among men to feed them; that is why it is also said that as the universe "had drunk of his body," the Nommo also made men drink. He gave all his life principles to human beings."
The Nommo was crucified and resurrected and in the future will again visit the earth, this time in human form. Later he will assume his amphibious form and will rule the world from the waters.
Dogon mythology is known only by a number of their priests, and is a complex system of knowledge. Such carefully guarded secrets would not be divulged to friendly strangers very easily. If the star Emme Ya is eventually discovered in the Sirius system, this would give considerably weight to the Dogon's story.
The first Western scientists to visit and study the Dogon people were French anthropologists Drs Marcel Griaule and Germaine Dieterlen, who initially made contact with them in 1931, and continued to research them for the next three decades, culminating in a detailed study conducted between 1946-1950. During their work, these anthropologists documented the traditional mythology and sacred beliefs of the Dogon.
"Several specialists now claim they have found the long-sought "final evidence" of visits made to earth by ancient astronauts. The myths of the Dogon tribesmen of Mall, West Africa, contain astronomical knowledge which the native people could have neither learned by themselves nor guessed. Obviously, the researchers say, some more advanced civilization told them. These fascinating Dogon legends speak of Jupiter's four moons and Saturn's rings, which were not seen by human beings until the invention of the telescope. They speak of the star Sirius and of a pair of invisible companions. One of them circles Sirius every fifty years, the legends declare, and is made of a metal that is the heaviest thing in the universe. Astronomers have discovered that such an object (called "Sirius-B") does exist but only the most sophisticated and sensitive instruments...unavailable, of course, to the Dogons -- can detect it." from "The Sirius Mystery", by James Oberg
The Dogon tells the legend of the Nommos, awful-looking beings who arrived in a vessel along with fire and thunder.
After they arrived here, they put out a reservoir of water onto the Earth then dove into the water.
There are references in the oral traditions, drawings and cuneiform tablets of the Dogons, to human looking beings who have feet but who are portrayed as having a large fish skin running down their bodies.
The Nommos, who could live on land but dwelled mostly in the sea, were part fish, like merfolk (mermaids and mermen).
It was from the Nommos that the Dogon claimed their knowledge of the heavens.
Carl Sagan concluded that the Dogon could not have acquired their knowledge without contact with an advanced technological civilization. He suggests, however, that that civilization was terrestrial rather than extraterrestrial. Western Africa has had many visitors from technological societies located on planet Earth. The Dogon have a traditional interest in the sky and astronomical phenomena. As Sagan noted, if a European had visited the Dogon in the 1920s and 1930s, conversation would likely have turned to astronomical matters, including Sirius, the brightest star in the sky and the centre of Dogon mythology.
In 1966, Robert Temple, a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and the author of several books, happened to read some of the Griaule material on Dogon Cosmology, and in 1968 he obtained an English translation of Le Renard Pale. He became interested in the question of how the isolated Dogon could have known for hundreds of years that Sirius, one of the brightest stars in the sky, has an invisible companion, Sirius B. Sirius B, a type of star called a white dwarf, is so small that it cannot be seen without a telescope. It was completely unknown to astronomers until 1862, when the American astronomer Alvan Clark managed to see it for the first time. Sirius B, like all white dwarf stars, is composed of densely packed matter that, if it is not the heaviest matter in the universe, is very close to it. It was not discovered until around 1926 that white dwarves are so heavy that a cubic meter of one may weigh as much as 20,000 tons. It was also discovered that Sirius B orbits Sirius A in an elliptical orbit that takes 50 years to complete. Sirius B was finally photographed in 1970.
How did the Dogon know about Sirius B, when they had no telescopes? How, for that matter, did they know that Saturn has rings, that the moon is dry and barren, and that Jupiter has four large moons? These four moons of Jupiter are called Galilean, because Galileo was the first to see them when he pointed his telescope at Jupiter. The moons of Jupiter and Saturn's rings are only visible through a telescope.
NOTE: (Benest, Daniel and Duvent, J.L. "Is Sirius a Triple Star?" ASTRONOMY AND ASTROPHYSICS. (Volume 299, 1995) pp. 621-628) - In 1995, these two French astronomers published the results of years of study, stating that a small, red-dwarf star seems to exist in the Sirius star system. They have detected a peturbation in the orbit that cannot be explained by any other means.

dallsaobserver - A man from Lancaster spent Monday night in a nature preserve 75 miles east of Dallas trying to lure Bigfoot to his black Toyota sedan, police say.
Mineola Police Capt. Jack Newman tells Unfair Park he responded to a trespassing call Tuesday morning to find the man camped out in his car along the Sabine River, with bait on the roof of the car he said was meant to draw the reclusive forest giant out of hiding.
"He had some pieces of orange and a piece of steak and some nuts right on the top of his car," Newman says. Next to a tree about 20 yards away, he says, the man had scattered a few more orange pieces. "I don't know if he'd been trying to coax him over to the car or what."
"He'd heard something about Bigfoot down around the Sabine River," Newman says, though as far as he knows, the biggest wildlife draws around the preserve are deer and wild hogs. Fanning the flames of mystery, Newman says he can't release the name of the man, who he says left the scene when asked. "He didn't know he wasn't supposed to be in there," Newman says.
A report from KMOO radio in Mineola, though, says there have been fresh rumors of a Bigfoot sighting on private property near the preserve. One possible explanation: the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy held its annual conference in nearby Tyler in late October, though as Noah Bailey pointed out after hearing me on the phone this afternoon, Mineola has been a hotbed of Sasquatch activity for years.
Buster Green, a Mineola Nature Preserve caretaker who works for the city, says he spotted the man Tuesday morning and spoke to the would-be hunter briefly before calling police. "He was rolled up there sleeping in his vehicle when I come by," he says. Green says the man had a camera in his car; KMOO reports he was otherwise unarmed. "He said he'd come down here on kind of a whim," Green says.
"He was a big boy. He's over six-foot, 230-ish," Green says. "He didn't need nothing to be hunting Bigfoot. He could've gone down there with just a switch."
Swiss Bank to Choose Employee Underwear
dw-world - Those Swiss bankers, always showing up for work in faded t-shirts and stone-washed jeans.
Well, no more. The sartorially challenged, or simply clueless, finance professional now has a new dress code bible that gives definitive answers to all those pesky grooming and dressing issues.
Swiss banking giant UBS this week release its new guidelines that leave little to chance, covering employees' appearance pretty much from head to toe, from hair dyes (a no-no for men) to socks (leave the Mickey Mouse-themed ones at home).
The rules are exhaustive, ranging from fairly obvious prohibitions against tattoos, piercings and ankle chains (who wears those anymore?), to more esoteric guidelines, such as the one stating that ties that do not match the "morphology of the face" should not be worn.
It's all about "irreproachable behavior," the dress code says, which "implies having an impeccable presentation." UBS has been trying to rebuild its reputation since enduring record losses during the financial crisis and getting a multi-billion euro bailout.
If its employees are exquisitely groomed automatons, the thinking appears to be, the profit graph will once again start trending upward.
The bank said the suggestions are only meant for a small number of employees in five pilot branches in Switzerland, but could be expanded. A UBS spokesman said staff had reacted positively to the rules.
She's got the look?
"Well, appearance is of course important for every professional sector," Andreas Koehler, founder of the Germany-based company The Image Consultants, told Deutsche Welle. "It has been since the Middle Ages and before."
He says he can understand a company wanting to keep up its image, since perception is often king. And he points to the US Civil War, where if you didn't have the right kind of beard, you could be suspected of being with the enemy, and shot.
"But of course, that a company makes such detailed suggestions for its dress code is a little embarrassing," he added.
Women need to take it easy on the perfume, and ideally apply it after a hot shower, and then only after applying body lotion while the skin's pores are open.
They should also avoid wearing "flashy" jewelry or skirts that are "too tight behind." Underwear must not be "visible against clothing or spilling out of clothing." Rather, they should be "skin-colored under white shirts."
Men need to trim their fingernails to 1.5 millimeters, and only wear a pair of lace-up shoes on alternate days, so as to allow the leather to breathe and recuperate.
And for God's sake, "do not wash, nor ever iron your shirts yourself."
Black Magic Protests After Girl's Death in India / Witchcraft Burnings in South Africa
ndtv - Mangalore: The mysterious death of a three-year-old girl here, today led to protests by locals claiming that she died due to a suspected act of witchcraft, police said.
According to police, Priyanka the victim was yesterday taken by her neighbour Kamalaksha (72), a suspected black magic practitioner and his foster daughter to their house on the pretext of a religious ceremony.
When she did not return, her parents enquired about her but Kamalaksha told them that he sent the girl back in the evening itself, police said.
Suspecting Kamalaksha of practising black magic a crowd of locals ransacked his house, they said.
Police detained Kamalaksha and his foster daughter and are carrying out further investigations into the incident.
Meanwhile, a crowd pelted stones at the Kadri Police station here protesting the death of the girl, reacting to which the police lathicharged them.
The crowd had gathered in front of the police station shouting slogans against the two arrested, police said.
sowetanlive - Two family members including a woman have been arrested in connection with the burning to death of eight people at Mpola village, outside Marrianhill, on Monday.
Police have also linked the gruesome incident to witchcraft beliefs.
The two, a 21-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested on Wednesday night by members of the Cato Manor organised crime unit, which had been assigned to probe the deaths of eight Mabhida family members.
Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Phindile Radebe confirmed the arrests, saying the two would appear in the Pinetown magistrate's court on Monday on eight counts of murder and one of arson.
"After working night and day, police managed to link one of the suspects to the crime, which led to the arrest of the other," Radebe said.
Sowetan established that the family of the suspects has been living in the Mpola area for almost 20 years, while the Mabhidas only arrived in the area two years ago.
Once settled, they Mabhidas asked the father of the suspects for a small piece of land for farming which he granted them.
After some time, the suspects' father fell ill and subsequently died. His family suspected that he had been bewitched by the Mabhidas.
In March, the suspects' family had a cleansing ceremony where they slaughtered a sheep.
But the sheep's skin mysteriously disappeared during the night and this fuelled further tensions.
Police said the elder suspect allegedly told the young suspect to buy petrol and afterwards set the house of the Mabhidas on fire while they were fast asleep at night.
Astronomers Find First Evidence Of Other Universes
technologyreview - There's something exciting afoot in the world of cosmology. Last month, Roger Penrose at the University of Oxford and Vahe Gurzadyan at Yerevan State University in Armenia announced that they had found patterns of concentric circles in the cosmic microwave background, the echo of the Big Bang.
This, they say, is exactly what you'd expect if the universe were eternally cyclical. By that, they mean that each cycle ends with a big bang that starts the next cycle. In this model, the universe is a kind of cosmic Russian Doll, with all previous universes contained within the current one.
That's an extraordinary discovery: evidence of something that occurred before the (conventional) Big Bang.
Today, another group says they've found something else in the echo of the Big Bang. These guys start with a different model of the universe called eternal inflation. In this way of thinking, the universe we see is merely a bubble in a much larger cosmos. This cosmos is filled with other bubbles, all of which are other universes where the laws of physics may be dramatically different to ours.
These bubbles probably had a violent past, jostling together and leaving "cosmic bruises" where they touched. If so, these bruises ought to be visible today in the cosmic microwave background.
Now Stephen Feeney at University College London and a few pals say they've found tentative evidence of this bruising in the form of circular patterns in cosmic microwave background. In fact, they've found four bruises, implying that our universe must have smashed into other bubbles at least four times in the past.
Again, this is an extraordinary result: the first evidence of universes beyond our own.
So, what to make of these discoveries. First, these effects could easily be a trick of the eye. As Feeney and co acknowledge: "it is rather easy to fifind all sorts of statistically unlikely properties in a large dataset like the CMB." That's for sure!
There are precautions statisticians can take to guard against this, which both Feeney and Penrose bring to bear in various ways.
But these are unlikely to settle the argument. In the last few weeks, several groups have confirmed Pernose's finding while others have found no evidence for it. Expect a similar pattern for Feeney's result.
The only way to settle this will be to confirm or refute the findings with better data. As luck would have it, new data is forthcoming thanks to the Planck spacecraft that is currently peering into the cosmic microwave background with more resolution and greater sensitivity than ever.
Cosmologists should have a decent data set to play with in a couple of years or so. When they get it, these circles should either spring into clear view or disappear into noise (rather like the mysterious Mars face that appeared in pictures of the red planet taken by Viking 1 and then disappeared in the higher resolution shots from the Mars Global Surveyor).
Planck should settle the matter; or, with any luck, introduce an even better mystery. In the meantime, there's going to be some fascinating discussion about this data and what it implies about the nature of the Universe. We'll be watching.

Wolski drove on while the strangers exchanged some words in an unknown language. Shortly, as the cart approached a clearing in the forest, a strange, almost "transparent white" object could be seen, hanging in the air about 70 meters away, emitting a faint humming sound. Wolski described the object similar to a short bus, but with a roof like a barn, it was about 5 meters in length, three meters in width, and about 2.5 meters in height. It shone, as if nickel-plated. No windows were seen. At its four corners, and half-way up it had on the outside, barrels with black vertical rods running through them and carrying what looked like spirals rather reminiscent of corkscrews. These black rods were rotating very fast. The "corkscrews" emitted a range of colors, and the barrels seemed to have been the source of the humming. When closer to the object, Wolski said the sound was like that of bumblebees in flight. The craft's surface was smooth, stainless, and seamless. At a height of some 50 cm from the ground was suspended a lift held by four thin cables attached above the entrance to the craft, which had descended as the trio approached. Stepping on to the platform one of the entities invited Wolski aboard, gesturing to him that he should grasp the cables. After rising rapidly the lift stopped in front of an opening and Wolski was motioned inside. Inside, Wolski stepped into a chamber with walls that were almost black and saw two more beings identical with the first two.
Their heads were relatively large, with faces of an olive green or greenish brown hue, having high cheekbones that gave them an Asiatic appearance. The eyes, almond shaped, very long, were dark, and appeared to lack any whites. In the place of the nose, there was only a slight protuberance with two small vertical openings. The mouth was straight and thin. Their teeth were white. No hair was visible on the face.
TRANSCRIPT OF AN INTERVIEW WITH MR. JAN WOLSKI
by Henryk Pomorski & Krystyna Adamczyk
HP: ... Opole Lubelskie Commune. We talk to Mr. Jan Wolski, age...
JW: 71 [seventy one]
HP: Who has for us lots of interesting things to say… You met some extraterrestrial people. Can you say us how did it happen?
JW: I cannot directly state for sure that they were extraterrestrials because they were similar to us thought tiny, delicate, of small height - about 150 cm. [5 f.]
HP: How did it happened that you met them?
JW: Well… I was driving from Komaszyce, from that side. In fact I was returning from Dabrowa village but the encounter with them occurred on this side of Komaszyce, on a field belonging to me.
HP: When did you see them for the first time?
JW: I noticed them as two people heading toward my cart... Those people [the beings] hadn't noticed me before. When they saw me they began looking at me and then they gradually began slowing down their walk more and more. When I drove closer to them, they divided on both sides (one went in one direction and the second one on the opposite one) and I drove in between them while they in the meantime jumped onto the moving cart.
HP: They sat next to you, didn’t they?
JW: Yes… However, not directly next to me but behind me (the second one also) while I was sitting in the center. Their legs were hanging down.
[Mr. Wolski neither didn’t scorn them nor escaped since similar mode of traveling was some kind of tradition and it would be a discourtesy to drive them off and. Moreover, he didn’t know then who they were in fact.]
HP: Can you describe their outer appearance?
JW: They looked in this way: black outfits covering their foreheads and from here to here and o chin, and here they were green.
HP: What about their faces?
JW: They had green faces and palms as well, from here. It was in this way.
HP: In which language they spoke? Did they say anything to you?
JW: They spoke in some language (huh) but I’m amazed that they could understand each other since they spoke like that “…a petete petete te…”. Their words were short and fast and I don’t know how they can understand one another.
[The beings were communicating with Mr. Wolski by gestures, both while they were with him on the ground and onboard their aerial craft. It is contrary to many reports about UFO passengers reports where witnesses said about some type of mental communication.]
HP: What about the further journey? What happened next?
JW: They were driving ahead for some time and then ordered me to stop – they didn’t spoke in words but expressed it with hands to stop. So I understood it and began urging the horse to stop but he [one of the beings] caught the reins and pulled back urging the horse to stop (It was afraid of the craft.). And when it stopped they got off the cart – in the same way as they previously got on and they gave me a sign with hands to go with them. I tied my horse, then got off and went after them toward that machine. There was a tiny elevator of some kind for two people to hold – maybe it couldn’t carry two large people but surely could delicate ones… And then he went forth and set his foot onto this craft, I followed him and it soon lifted up rapidly – in front of that craft door. And the whole craft could be about 4 m. above the ground, maybe 4.5 m. [ca: 13 – 15 f.]
HP: The craft was hovering in the air, wasn’t it? Please, describe the way it moved and how looked like?
JW: It was a purely white craft – from outside.
HP: And what about it’s size and shape?
JW: It could be 4.5 maybe to 5 m. [14 – 15 f.] in height and it was as long as a bus, so it looked in that way. I haven’t seen any… [unclear but the craft was void of any outer features as lights, joints etc.]
[Jan Wolski on other occasion mentioned that there were 4 “barrels” on the craft corners with “drills” (as Wolski said). Those black drill-like objects seemed to be made of black material and were rotating around its axis with great speed although without creating any disturbances in the air. They generate the hum Wolski mentioned.]
HP: And it was hovering in the air, wasn’t it? When you stand on the platform along with him the tiny elevator brought you swiftly to the interior of the craft…?
JW: No, no, no… (It carried us to place) by the craft entrance… [Not inside.] The elevator was on the same height as the entrance to the craft… Not from the bottom but by side.
HP: You found himself inside… What could you see there?
JW: Inside I could see only several crows – those our black birds…
HP: Black ones, as our ravens or rooks…
JW: So they were lying under the wall, not that one with the entrance but on the opposite side. To my opinion they seemed to be paralyzed – they were moving with their wings, legs and heads but weren’t moving around.
HP: Ok... You have encountered two beings [on the ground]. Were there any other inside?
JW: Inside of the craft there were also two ones. When we got onboard, there were another two inside.
HP: Were there any other appliances onboard? Maybe some gauges or some other things for sleeping or sitting…
JW: There were only some benches onboard… From 8 to 10 - I couldn’t remember. Benches of some kind for one man to sit.
HP: What then happened with you?
JW: They ordered me to dress down…
HP: By gesticulation?
JW: Yes, they showed me to dress down. When I was half-naked, to my waist – and maybe not fully because when I was undressing I removed my jacket, then a blouse with 4 buttons… And when I began to undo two upper ones, the being that was on the elevator with me undid the two ones from the bottom. When I was undressing the fourth being appeared – that one who remained on the ground. […] Well, when I was partially undressed (to my waist) and stood in place I received an order to undress completely. So I took off my shoes. One of the present beings then appeared in front of me with an appliance in a form of two dishes combined in its hand. He neared “the saucers” to my front, then revolved me holding my arm slightly. Then he raised my arm up and began to doing something at my side with those plates… then from behind and on the other side. Then he showed me to dress up. After this order I began to dress up and look around but there were neither windows nor lights visible.
HP: Maybe they had some food products with them?
JW: I couldn’t see anything. [Break]. (They have something that might be food) in form of icicles. They were crumbling it into small chips and insert them into their mouth. He pointed with his finger on the thing in an icicle shape and ask me – not by words but gesticulating – could I eat it.
HP: They wanted to treat you with it…
JW: Yes, they wanted to treat me with it. But it was somewhat strange for me and I showed with my head move that I wouldn’t eat that thing.
HP: They ordered you to dress up after scanning you… What was the color inside of the craft: white, green, black… ?
JW: It seemed black inside. It was in the same color as their outfits – black although with some grayish tint.
HP: Can you describe the outer appearance of the craft?
JW: It was transparently white, as polished aluminum.
HP: You have said that the beings wore black outfits and had greenish faces. What with their eyes and other face features?
JW: They had slightly slanted eyes… They cheekbones were protruding. Once I saw Chinese men and they [the beings] slightly reminded them. But Chinese seemed to more massive and taller… Then he showed me to dress up so I did it and I was about to went off the craft as the being said. When I was about to do it, I turned back and took my cap off saying to them: “Goodbye”. All of them took a bow. Then I took a step ahead and found myself on the ground. And that’s all.
[Jan Wolski also used to term the beings as “monsters”.]
HP: What about the altitude the craft was hovering?
JW: Approximately 5 m. [16 f.], maybe 4 or 4.5 m. I’m not sure. It was hard to establish it then…
HP: You then rushed to home and told your family members and neighbors to go there to inspect it…
JW: Yes, it’s true. When I arrived home I quickly entered inside but my son’s weren’t there, only my wife… I asked her: “Where are the boys?”. She replied that they are somewhere outside. I quickly ran off the house. My wife asked: “What happened?” I replied: “Nothing”. “Maybe something is wrong with the mare?” – she asked. Then I ran outside and saw my sons coming from the barn side. I called them saying: “Go quickly on the field and you will see some craft in the air”. I even described it as a “car” in the air, something out of ordinary. So they ran to alarm one and another neighbor and then together rushed toward the field. My third son appeared afterwards and I said to him: “You also should go and see it”. After a while I joined to them because of curiosity. But when I arrived at the spot along with my sons there were nothing in the air – only grass trodden down covered with dew and paths coming in all directions… When I saw that it disappeared I turned back and returned home. The rest remained at the site checking the footprints etc. Soon two other men joined them. They were inspecting the prints, saw some foot…
[As it turned out, the area was full of strange footprints. There were also clues indicating that soil samples might be taken. The footprints were nearly rectangular in shape although soon they were trodden down by local inhabitants and law enforcement officers.]
HP: Were those prints left by people of the craft visible?
JW: Yes, they were. Boys checked them out and one of them compared the footprint of the being to his feet… I don’t know whether it was smaller or bigger (than his feet).
HP: Because of this very interesting event you surely have many visitors that want to get to know about the case. I’ve heard that you had been visited by our scientist, Mr. Blania from Lodz, an ufologist. What is his opinion in this matter?
JW: He thinks, after all of my descriptions and all of the incident, after answers to questions about the craft whirring, hum…
HP: But the craft wasn’t whirring as a car engine for example?
JW: No, but it was a rumble of some kind. Something like: “…zzzzz…”. I answered him [Mr. Blania] and I don’t know who said them that some kid from the village also could hear some noise, a loud hum. So they went to Popiolek family, since he was a son of Popiolek. He [boy Adam Popiolek] said to Mr. Blania that he saw some craft in the air, some balloon (he explained) or car – according to his descriptions. He ran into the house and yelled to his mother: “Mummy, come here because it could destroy our house because there is a craft in the air”. The woman went outside but returned after a while to his cooking duties and she hasn’t seen the craft.
HP: What is the boy’s name?
[Adam was about 5-year-old in time of incident. After some time it turned out that many other inhabitants of Emilcin witnessed the sighting of UFO object but they didn’t want to talk about it. Many also remembered hearing loud bagns.]
HP: He’s is from here? He lives in Emilcin?
HP: The craft inside was dark or enlightened? There were no windows in its hull?
JW: No, there were no windows. The light was coming inside only by the door of the craft since it was in the daylight.
HP: What about the door?
JW: The door weren’t closing as ours but were rolling as some piece of cloth, in that way.
Krystyna Adamczyk: Is any other face features of the being were visible, as brows, teeth?
JW: There were no brows visible… I don’t know what they had in fact – some make up or masks. They only got slanted eyes. I could see some white in their eye corners. And their teeth were also white in color… That’s all about them.
KA: Have you witnessed the craft disappearance while your retreat from that place?
JW: I haven’t seen anything. I could only observe the craft only in a distance of 15 m. because it then hid behind some bushes. I was in hurry to reach home and inform my sons about the incident… That’s all about it…
KA: Can you describe the process when you was treated with the icicle-form food? Were there any sounds when they began to crush it into smaller pieces?
JW: There were no crushing sounds. This food was crushing as hardened dough, without any sounds.
KA: Was it a terrifying experience or something of utmost importance for you?
JW: Just a bit [terrifying], but I’m not very timorous man at all… so I wasn’t very scared.
KA: Who they were according to your opinion? Who those people are? Are they of terrestrial or of extraterrestrial origin?
JW: I can’t say anything about it and I’m not orientated in similar matters since I’m not a scientist of some kind but a simple farmer. Therefore, I don’t know. I noticed that they were small, of the same height and all of them rather snappy in nature. But I don’t know anything about their origin.
KA: You have mentioned that they were in some costumes and have greenish faces. Were there any other specific details making they different from us?
JW: I noticed then one thing, i.e. around the each one finger there was a thin and tiny fin [he means webbed hands ]. But I don’t know the number of their fingers since I didn’t count, just saw them. And on their upper necks, in place where hair began, they have something resembling lumps. It was round and protruding but I don’t know about it’s nature – whether it was a anatomical part of them or they had something hidden them.
KA: Did you notice any brews or hair covering their bodies?
JW: I didn’t notice any hair since their whole body was covered with the suit that also obscured part of their foreheads. But they had no brows I think… They were completely dressed in it – the same one-pieced suit covered their legs and heads. They had no shoes.
KA: Can you say us finally when the incident took place?
JW: It was on 10th day of May, before 8 a.m., because when I returned and my wife looked at the clock it was about 7:50 a.m.
KA: The day it occurred was…
JW: 10th May [wondering]… It was in Wednesday…
HP: We recorded this conversation with Mr. Jan Wolski from Emilcin on July the 6th 1978. With Mr. Wolski talked: Henryk Pomorski and Krystyna Adamczyk. Thank you Mr. Wolski and see you soon!
JW: You welcome!
For Wolski himself, his growing popularity became a serious problem:
“Do you know what people then talked about me? They called me an alcoholic or said that it was a mere dream! The worst although were the trips that began coming here. Sometimes there were up to 14 coaches with tourist at once. They harassed me and didn’t let to work. And trampled my meadow…”
Wolski gave an interview to Henryk Pomorski & Krystyna Adamczyk in 1978, two months after his experience. Scientists and sociologists from University of Lodz made careful consideration and study of Jan's story, and determined that he truly experienced what he said he did. Wolski died in 1990, fully asserting the veracity of his bizarre experience to the end.
Another witness seems to have seen the same (or identical) craft, although the place and time were different. Henryk Marciniak saw an object in a small town called Golina (mid-western Poland) on 27th September 1978.
In the afternoon of that day he went to collect mushrooms on a clearing. Suddenly he saw an unusual craft. With some delay, he eventually took his motorcycle and rode towards the strange object. In a matter of instants he saw an open doorway (which was not there before) and two beings stood on both sides of Marciniak, and he extended his hand in a welcome gesture. The aliens got interested in Marciniak’s motorcycle and by using gestures asked him to take a ride. Meanwhile a buzzing sound came from inside the craft, and the beings slowly come back to the object which then goes up and disappears.
It’s not the end of the Emilcin events.
- Wolski was not the only person in Emilcin to see the strange craft and beings; two boys, Adam and Agnieszka Popiowek also saw them.
- The owner of a farm in Emilcin, some 200 metres away from the clearing heard an unusual noise!
- Two men, driving from Warsaw to Opole Lubelskie, saw a strange object in the sky
- Tadeusz Baranowski, an artist who made sketches during research in Emilcin, has found feathers of black birds – strangely cut!
|Comic strip version of the events|
The depth of the investigation undertaken by sociologist Dr. Blania Bolnar and Dr. Ryszard Kitlinsky, a psychologist from the University of Lodz, is truly admirable. Some of the tests administered to Wolski included a theme apperception test, an IQ test in the Wechsler’s scale for adults, a psychogalvanometric measurement of psychic tension (polygraph), as well as opthalmological and clinical tests. A full physical check-up was also included, revealing that Wolski was in excellent health despite his age and that he had “an exceptional good quality of the sight, rarely encountered in that corresponding age group.”
Bolnar’s report in Prof. Zigel’s book, “Psychological and sociological evaluation of Jan Wolski”, includes sections on “Motifs from a viewpoint of a lie hypothesis” (none according to the report), his Emotions, Memory, Mental development, Susceptibility to suggestion, Fantasy ability, Inclination to lie, the Witness as a member of a social group, the Witness and the mass-media, Leisure, Interests, Vices, Religion, and finally an “Evaluation of the witness from the point of view of results of his experience.” The scientists found that Wolski was a remarkably credible witness. For instance, wrote Bolnar, “results of the thematic perception test fully indicates that the witness has no ability whatsoever to invent stories of any kind. His mental creativity is not apparent. He is unable to tell a fictitious tale, even a simple one.” Likewise, extensive questioning and background checks revealed that “the witness is an honest, truthful, decent person, and this was confirmed in cross-examinations.” He was highly regarded within his community and was not known to drink alcohol, smoke or exhibit any other social vice.
Above all, it is Wolski’s own practical, down-to-earth personality that is most convincing. The witness showed a general “low inclination to fear” and “has not recognized the situation in which he found himself as threatening.” As to the behavior of the beings, “the subject has emphasized at several occasions that they were polite and treated him with courtesy and consideration.” Drs. Kitlinsky and Bolnar finally examined and rated several hypothesis including a hoax, a hallucination or dream, a religious apparition, a suggestion or coercion by a third party, the landing of a helicopter or experimental craft, etc. All these hypotheses were rated extremely low by the scientists (usually within 1 or 2%). The exception was what they called the “Summary hypothesis: the event with the witness was an objective reality. At the crucial moment, he noticed and stated his experience in accordance with reality, has described a behavior of beings, the arrangement and behavior of the craft, development of events, etc.” This hypothesis was rated 90% by Kitlinsky and 98% by Bolnar. Their final “Concluding hypothesis” was that “this case indicates the existence of a phenomenon unknown to science.”

Remarkable Triangle Shaped UFO Over Santa Clara County, CA
MUFON CMS - near Mountain View, California - 12/15/2010: I was on my patio looking at the stars having a cigarette when I started hearing the sound of what sounded like a small Cessna plane flying over. We don't get any Cessna's flying over so I thought it was strange. I kept watching, and to my total SHOCK I saw a triangle appear over the building next door (apartments). It was flying low enough to make out that it was definitely a triangle with two bright "headlights", and as I watched it fly over me my mouth was dropped wide open, and I was completely speechless. As it passed overhead, I noticed light hitting the undercarriage and it appeared to have some kind of bar across the sides of the bottom, but I could only make out one side of the belly. When it was completely overhead, I noticed a back light on the back tip of the triangle. There was only the three lights though, no light in the center of the belly. It was not using any kind of spot light or anything. It was just traveling overhead like it was on it's own agenda. I popped my head out from the overhang of the patio to really get a good look and see if I was really "seeing" this. It continued flying over my complex, and disappeared from my sight after flying over my building. At that point, I started calling my husband Ron several times, and he just didn't hear me calling for him. I guess I wasn't loud enough.
Like I said, it sounded like a Cessna, but there was no way! It was clearly a triangle. I wasn't scared of it, just shocked. I have seen pictures on TV and in books of the famous "triangle", but never saw one myself. I'd LOVE to see it again. The whole time elapsed was about two minutes. I then looked at the clock and it said 11:00pm (California time).
I tried to go to sleep after at about 12:00 midnight, and found it difficult to fall asleep. As I laid there, I heard that EXACT SAME SOUND AGAIN! I laid in bed (out of shock) and heard it for about an additional 15 minutes!
Now, nearby in Mountain View, we have an old NASA base, but they don't test military planes there. We also have a secret military base up in the Santa Cruz mountains, and God only knows what they do up there. This was smaller than the Stealth, and anyway, it made a motor noise. There's no way it was a hang glider at night either. That's just not possible in the area I live in.
I have always believed in "UFO's", and also believe I had several experiences as a child. But this is the first time in my adulthood that something like this has happened. I hope that it really was a "UFO", and hope to hear from you if your getting any other reports about last night. It wasn't that late, and people were still up.
The picture I am attaching is NOT one I took. It's just the closest I could find on the internet to show what it looked like. Just a few changes though. There was NO light in the center of the undercarriage. Just the three white lights at the tip.
Israeli Air Firce Shoots Down UFO Over Nuclear Plant
cnn - The Israeli Air Force shot down an unidentified flying object over the Dimona nuclear plant in the Negev Desert Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces said.
The object appeared in a designated no-fly zone, the air force was scrambled and the object was shot down, the IDF said.
The object could have been a party balloon, the IDF said, but forces have not yet found the debris to determine what it was.
There have been unconfirmed media reports that it was a motor-driven object. The air force reacted according to procedure when the object was spotted, the IDF said.
The Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz reported that last October "IDF warplanes intercepted an Israeli ultralight aircraft that accidentally flew into the area and forced it to land at an airstrip in southern Israel."
It also reported that "an Israeli surface-to-air missile downed a crippled Israeli fighter-bomber that strayed into the restricted zone" during the Six Day War in 1967. The craft's pilot was killed.
Predictions for 2011...from 1931
npr - Back in 1931, The New York Times asked a bunch of luminaries to predict what the world would be like in 2011. Here are a few of the highlights.
The sociologist William Ogburn was off in a few big ways: He predicted the end of poverty and said the U.S. population would be 160 million (it's nearly twice that). Nevertheless, a lot of what he wrote rings true today:
Labor displacement will proceed even to automatic factories. The magic of remote control will be commonplace. Humanity’s most versatile servant will be the electron tube.... the heterogeneity of material culture will mean specialists and languages that only specialists can understand. ...
Inevitable technological progress and abundant natural resources yield a higher standard of living. Poverty will be eliminated and hunger as a driving force of revolution will not be a danger. Inequality of income and problems of social justice will remain....
The role of government is bound to grow. Technicians and special interest groups will leave only a shell of democracy. The family cannot be destroyed but will be less stable in the early years of married life, divorce being greater than now. The lives of women will be more like those of men, spent more outside the home.
Scientist and inventor Michael Pupin predicted greater income equality:
The great inventions which laid the foundation of our modern industries and of the resulting industrial civilization were all born during the last eighty years ... This civilization is the greatest material achievement of applied science during this memorable period. Its power for creating wealth was never equaled in human history. But it lacks the wisdom of distributing equitably the wealth which it creates. One can safely prophesy that during the next eighty years this civilization will correct this deficiency by creating an industrial democracy which will guarantee to the worker an equitable share in the wealth produced by his work.
For several decades after Pupin made this call, income equality did increase. But the trend didn't hold: Since the 1970s, the gap between rich and poor has grown.
W.J. Mayo, of clinic fame, comes pretty close to the mark:
Contagious and infectious diseases have been largely overcome, and the average length of life of man has increased to fifty-eight years.... The progress that is being made would suggest that within the measure of time for this forecast the average life time of civilized man would be raised to the biblical term of three-score and ten....
Although we may desire to believe only what we can see, our emotions will predominate when crises beyond human understanding confront us, and some form of religion will continue to sustain people in time of stress.
Woman Has Bizarre 'No Fear' Condition
dailymail - A woman who knows no fear because of damage to a key emotion centre in her brain is lucky to be alive, scientists said today.
The US woman, known only as SM, lives in a poor and dangerous neighbourhood and has been the victim of numerous crimes.
She has shrugged off being held at knife and gunpoint, death threats, and assaults, and was once nearly killed by an act of domestic violence.
Yet even when her life was in peril her behaviour 'lacked any sense of desperation or urgency', said researchers. She was simply unafraid.
In tests SM also showed no hint of fear when exposed to snakes and spiders, during a trip to one of the world's scariest haunted houses, or while watching clips of spine-chilling horror films.
But other emotions such as happiness and sadness remained entirely intact.
SM suffers from a rare condition that has destroyed her amygdala, an almond-shaped region of the brain.
The study involving SM is the first to confirm that this brain region is also responsible for experiencing fear in humans.
Reporting on her case today in the journal Current Biology, US scientists said her condition left her vulnerable to walking into dangerous situations.
Neuropsychologist Justin Feinstein, one of the researchers at the University of Iowa, said: 'The nature of fear is survival and the amygdala helps us stay alive by avoiding situations, people, or objects that put our life in danger.
'Because SM is missing her amygdala, she is also missing the ability to detect and avoid danger in the world. It is quite remarkable that she is still alive.'
The biggest surprise for the scientists was SM's reaction to spiders and snakes, both of which she claimed to 'hate'.
Yet at an exotic pet shop she had to be prevented from touching a venomous tarantula, and displayed a 'compulsive desire' to handle the larger and more dangerous snakes.
The researchers also took her to Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky, reputed to be one of the most haunted sites in the world.
Once a year staff at the sanatorium add to the spooky atmosphere by dressing as monsters and ghosts that attempt to frighten visitors.
Amid screams from other members of her tour group, SM could not be scared - and even gave one of the 'monsters' a shock by poking it in the head.
SM 'showed no signs of nervousness or apprehension while walking through dark passageways, and was never visibly frightened by any of the numerous attempts to scare her', the scientists wrote.
The researchers believe the work could lead to better treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other anxiety conditions.
'This past year, I've been treating veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan who suffer from PTSD,' said Mr Feinstein.
'Their lives are marred by fear, and they are oftentimes unable to even leave their home due to the ever-present feeling of danger.
'In striking contrast, the patient in this study is immune to these states of fear and shows no symptoms of post-traumatic stress.
'The horrors of life are unable to penetrate her emotional core. In essence, traumatic events leave no emotional imprint on her brain.'

Notwithstanding these contentions, let us say that there is an axiom to the ancient astronaut theory. Then we need to ask, who were these beings? What did they represent to the inhabitants of earth? Where these beings the ancient Gods of antiquity?
I would like to periodically chronicle my speculation of how the native people interpreted these unknown entities. This edition describes the Wandjina.
In 1838, a party led by Captain George Grey stumbled across paintings in the Kimberley district of Western Australia that have been the subject of controversy ever since. Exploring among the hills near the Prince Regent River, Grey's group found a number of caves in which many extraordinary figures were painted.
Describing the main painting in one of the caves Grey investigated, he wrote in his journal that "It was the figure of a man, ten feet 6 inches [3.2 metres] in length, clothed from the chin downwards in a red garment, which reached to the wrist and ankles"
"...The face and head of the figure were enveloped in a succession of circular bandages or rollers...these were colored red, yellow and white: and the eyes were the only features represented on the face. Upon the highest bandage or roller, a series of lines were painted in red, but...it was impossible to tell whether they were intended to depict written characters, or some ornament for the head.."
Grey continued to state that the paintings: "...had the appearance of being much more defaced, and ancient, than any of the other's that the party had seen".
To the Australian Aborigines, the Wandjina (or Wondjina) were cloud and rain spirits who, during the Dreamtime, painted their images (as humans but without mouths) on cave walls. Dreamtime is a sacred era in which ancestral Totemic Spirit Beings formed The Creation. It has been said if the Wandjina had mouths, the rain would never cease. They also lacked limbs and had a skull-like face. Their ghosts still exist in small ponds. Walaganda, one of the Wandjina, became the Milky Way.
The Wandjinas have common colors of black, red and yellow on a white background. Wandjinas are believed to have made the sea, the earth and all its inhabitants. The Wandjina is thought to have special powers and if offended, can cause flooding and intense lightning. The paintings are still believed to have special powers and therefore are to be approached cautiously.
Aboriginal actor-historian Ben Blakenley tells of "The Legend of the Silver Bird", "Long long ago, far back in the Dream Time, a great red coloured egg (spaceship) came down from the skies. It tried to land safely on the ground but broke (crash landed). Out of it emerged white-skinned culture-heroes (gods) and their children."
"The children's elders soon died, either through their old age or because they could not accustom themselves to our atmosphere. The children however were young and able to adapt more easily to their new surroundings. They carved and painted the likenesses of their parents upon cave walls to perpetrate their memory. In time the great red colored egg rusted away until its remains had merged with the ground, thus creating the red soil of Central Australia. The children of the culture heroes who came from the sky grew in numbers until they eventually populated the whole land, their skins turning black due to the hot climate."
Scholars have long argues whether these are visiting astronauts and their spacecraft, or mythical culture heroes and toltemic designs. Ufologists have pointed out that many of these puzzling shapes are similar to UFO shapes which have been sighted and reported in the 20th century. The implications are that 15,000 years ago strange shapes were observed in the skies. Whether these were spacecraft containing ancient astronauts remains unknown. There is evidence both for and against the theory of ancient astronauts and that they may once have visited and had some influence upon the ancient history of Australia.
An ancient astronaut legend comes from the Blue Mountains of New South Wales. This was told by the Dharuk tribe which formerly occupied a vast area stretching from the Hawkesbury River-Sydney District across to the western slopes of the Blue Mountains. The legend concerns "Biramee the Bird Man," who laid a great egg near what is now the town of Linden, from which the ancestors of the Aborigines hatched.
Although these finds may not be proof of extraterrestrial civilizations having visited earth in antiquity, there is certainly evidence which could be said to lend considerable weight to the ancient astronaut theory in Australia. The evidence primarily consists of archaeological finds which imply the former existence on this continent of a race of non-aboriginal man who inhabited Australia before the dawn of history, and who have left behind them traces of a vast astronomical knowledge. Similar features are to be found elsewhere throughout the ancient world. However, the mystery remains as to how these ancient peoples came by their knowledge often without sophisticated equipment which is only now available too modern man.
Japanese Salmon Declared Extinct 70 Years Ago Found Swimming In Lake
telegraph - The freshwater salmon known as black kokanee once thrived in the northerly Akita region of Japan but was classified as extinct by the government in 1940.
However, a team of scientists led by professor Tetsuji Nakabo of Kyoto University has examined nine fish in Lake Saiko, Yamanashi Prefecture, and concluded they directly match the characteristics of the "extinct" salmon.
If confirmed, this would mark the first occasion that a Japanese fish species classified as extinct has been found to be alive, according to the Environment Ministry which is investigating the claims with a view to updating its classification.
The fish, also known as "kunimasu" in Japanese, once lived only in its native Lake Tazawa, Akita Prefecture, and was declared extinct in 1940 following an inflow of acidic water due to a hydroelectric project.
However, Professor Nakabo uncovered records of how 100,000 eggs of the salmon had been transported to other freshwater locations across Japan five years before it was classified as extinct.
Among the locations was Lake Saiko, around 310 miles south of its native waters, where the scientists discovered enough of the formerly believed extinct fish to sustain its future survival.
"I was really surprised," said Professor Nakabo. "This is a very interesting fish it's a treasure. We have to protect it and not let it disappear again."
Nick Redfern's New Book: The NASA Conspiracies: The Truth Behind the Moon Landings, Censored Photos, and the Face on Mars
This week, I’m pleased to announce, my new book is published: The NASA Conspiracies: The Truth Behind the Moon Landings, Censored Photos, and the Face on Mars. And while the book focuses, for the most part, on such issues as UFO sightings by astronauts, it also addresses claims that NASA may have some knowledge of incidents involving unknown animals, as I will now demonstrate.
There can be very few people who have not at least heard of the exploits of the notorious Mothman of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, a bizarre, flying creature that was made famous in the 2002 movie The Mothman Prophecies that starred Hollywood crowd-puller Richard Gere and that, in turn, was based on the book of the same name penned by the late authority on just about everything paranormal and supernatural, John Keel. But, Mothman is not the only strange, winged monster that has been seen in the skies of the United States. One particular case implicates NASA in the story. Need of a girlfriend? There's an app for that....
canada - Stressed out South Korean men without time to date can now at least pretend they have a girlfriend, albeit on their smartphone.
Launched on November 30 by Nabix, a South Korean developer, the iPhone application "Honey it's me!" is warming lonely hearts with the voice of "Mina," a 20-something virtual woman.
For $1.99, Mina will make video-calls four times a day, showering subscribers with a message of bliss from 100 available. With recorded messages such as "good night, sweet dreams," Nabix said it would help subscribers feel someone cares for them and is consistently thinking of them.
According to Nabix, the application was downloaded 80,000 times on the first day alone.
An Android operating system version is expected to be launched this week and Nabix plans to provide the service in other languages, including Japanese.
Claim: HIV Positive Man Cured With Stem Cell Transplant
HP - On the heels of World AIDS Day comes a stunning medical breakthrough: Doctors believe an HIV-positive man who underwent a stem cell transplant has been cured as a result of the procedure.
Timothy Ray Brown, also known as the "Berlin Patient," received the transplant in 2007 as part of a lengthy treatment course for leukemia. His doctors recently published a report in the journal Blood affirming that the results of extensive testing "strongly suggest that cure of HIV infection has been achieved."
Brown's case paves a path for constructing a permanent cure for HIV through genetically-engineered stem cells.
Last week, Time named another AIDS-related discovery to its list of the Top 10 Medical Breakthroughs of 2010. Recent studies show that healthy individuals who take antiretrovirals, medicine commonly prescribed for treating HIV, can reduce their risk of contracting the disease by up to 73 percent.
While these developments by no means prove a cure for the virus has been found, they can certainly provide hope for the more than 33 million people living with HIV worldwide. Alongside such findings, global efforts to combat the epidemic have accelerated as of late, with new initiatives emerging in the Philippines and South Africa this week.
‘People call me possessed’: Boy who weeps blood baffles doctors
dailymail - These are the shocking new pictures of the boy who weeps blood.
Calvino Inman, 17, has been suffering from the mysterious condition for two years and doctors remain clueless as to how to stem the flow of bleeding, which can last up to an hour at a time.
But a documentary which will be shown tomorrow night on American television explores the phenomenon, experienced by only a handful of people around the world.
Mr Inman, from Knoxville, Tennessee, is shown undergoing tests to investigate whether a medical issue such as a tumour, tear duct problems, or a genetic defect is causing the bleeding.
He said: ‘People still call me possessed. The bleeding happens all the time, at school, at home and in the night.
‘I don’t usually know when they’re going to happen but sometimes it burns as it’s coming out.
‘Sometimes I don’t even know it’s happened until people start staring at me…
The Boy With Bloody Tears, which appears on The Learning Channel (TLC), also features the bizarre case of a mum of three from Patna, India, whose tears of blood also leave her extremely weak and ill.
Rashida Begum, 27, began crying blood from her eyes three years ago, after a severe bout of vomiting and painful headaches. …
The documentary offers new hope for Miss Begum as she is referred to experts at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.
After numerous tests the doctors finally believe they have uncovered the mystery which links Miss Begum’s strange bleeding to her painful and disabling stomach problem.
‘I’m so grateful to the doctors for trying to help me,’ she said. ‘I cannot cope with the terrible bleeding any longer.’
Meanwhile, back in Tennessee Inman’s doctor is exploring links to other unexplained bleeding cases in the U.S..
Dr John Fleming, of the Hamilton Eye Institute in Memphis, said: ‘We usually find a reason for the bleeding, such as a growth or an infected tear duct.
‘We have seen individuals who suffer from bleeding for months and years and then it suddenly stops.’ …

Mummified Head is Skull of Henri IV, Say Historians
telegraph - A gash above the lip, a beauty spot and a pierced ear were among key features that helped identify the well-preserved head as that of the "Gallant Green" king, stabbed to death by a Catholic fundamentalist in 1610.
Jean-Pierre Babelon, France's leading Henri IV scholar told The Daily Telegraph he and the other experts were "99 per cent sure" of their findings.
He will be alongside the 19-man team of international experts when it details its historic discovery in Paris' Grand Palais after two years of painstaking research.
The experts, led by the renowned pathologist Philippe Charlier, used a "whole range of methods" to cross check their discovery.
These included matching the head's precise measurements with that of Henri IV's death masks, dating the skull and conducting "deep research" into the embalming techniques used at the time.
Mr Babelon said that while the king's face still sported "a few hairs from his beard", they were too damaged to provide conclusive DNA proof linking him to his descendants.
The "killer evidence", he said, came from still-visible telltale facial details, notably a knife gash above the upper lip inflicted in a well-documented assassination attempt on the king – who converted to Catholicism to end the war of religions, declaring "Paris is worth a Mass".
How the head ended up in expert hands remains a partial mystery.
After his death on May 14, 1610, Henri IV was buried alongside France's other kings in the Basilica of Saint Denis, outside Paris. French revolutionaries dug up his body in 1793, along with his fellow monarchs but a mystery admirer of "good king Henri" managed to make off with his head.
Historians lost sight of it in the 1800s, but it resurfaced in 1919, when Joseph-Emile Bourdais, an antiques dealer bought it for three francs at Drouot's auction house.
Mr Bourdais, also a photographer, kept the head in a glass case in his gallery in Montmartre, charging visitors a small fee to peek at it.
"He was convinced it belonged to Henri IV and became a man possessed, gathering a huge number of photos and engravings to prove the likeness," said Mr Babelon. When the Louvre museum declined to accept the head as a gift, it was sold to a private collector who kept it for the past 60 years.
Mr Babelon tracked down the elderly owner, who wishes to remain anonymous.
The research was led by Mr Charlier, already famous in France for proving that remains said to belong to Joan of Arc in the chateau de Chinon were fakes, and that Agnès Sorel, Charles VII's favourite mistress, died of mercury poisoning.
Worker Killed By Falling Refrigerator
jsonline - A 33-year-old man who was part of a crew renovating an apartment on Milwaukee's west side was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a refrigerator his co-workers threw from the building, a Milwaukee police spokeswoman said.
Initial reports indicated the refrigerator fell from a fourth-floor porch to the ground, where the man was struck.
The incident occurred about 9:40 a.m. at 805-11 N. 22nd St., police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said. The workers who threw the refrigerator said they yelled down to the ground but didn't hear a response, so they thought the area was clear, she said.
The victim apparently stepped into the path of the refrigerator as it fell, Schwartz said. No one is in custody.
"It appears right now just to be a tragic accident," Schwartz said.
Milwaukee police completed their investigation of the incident, which is under investigation by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Schwartz said.
The victim died at the scene. His name has not been released. He worked for Wiegand Enterprises, which manages the building, according to an e-mail from the company's president, Rick Wiegand.
The victim "has been a dedicated and valued member of the Wiegand Enterprises team for many years," Wiegand said in his e-mail. "As a family man with a warm heart and zest for life, we are all heartbroken with his loss."
The refrigerator fell into a narrow gangway between the four-story brick building and a chain-link fence. Police tape blocked off the gangway Tuesday afternoon. A white, full-size refrigerator with a bent door was standing upright in the gangway.
Rare Photo of Flying Squid
metro - The Flying Squid are an incredible sight rarely caught on camera but these shots show one of the most bizarre sights in the natural world.
They swim in shoals and leap from the surface of the water and are often mistaken for the more common flying fish.
The squid actually fly looking backwards, with their tentacles dangling behind them and fins acting like wings, keeping them balanced in the air.
The 60-year-old retired deputy head teacher from Boreham, Essex, took the shots in the waters south of Japan.
Graham said: ‘These squid are often mistaken for flying fish and at first that's what I thought these were.
‘There was a group of about 20 flying squid and they sensed danger from the bow wave of the boat and their defence mechanism is to leap out of the water.’
Naked Ghost Hunter in Mississippi Cemetery
picayuneitem - A man photographed naked in a Mississippi cemetery says he didn’t mean anything crazy by it, he was trying to capture pictures of spirits, or do orb photography. The man, 47 year-old Robert T. Hurst, of 208 Mitchell St., said he was in the cemetery conducting his year-long hobby, orb photography, which is capturing circles of light at night, some of which appear to be faces. As for why he was naked the night he was caught by a game camera set up by cemetery staff, he said skin can be the best canvas for such photography.
Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said the department received a great deal of community response to its request for aid in identifying a man who was photographed naked and setting up his own camera on a tripod by a game camera in the cemetery. The community information provided Investigators Christa Groom and Shane Edgar with several leads, but none of those tips led to the man for whom they were looking. Instead, it was information from a Picayune Police officer that put the investigators at the suspect’s front door, Tucker said. The officer told the investigators that he remembered pulling a man over on a routine traffic stop recently that resembled the man in the picture.
Using that information, the investigators identified Hurst and made several attempts to contact him, but the efforts to make contact were unsuccessful, Tucker said. “It was obvious he was avoiding us.” Tucker said. On Friday, Capt. Kelvin Stanford finally made contact with Hurst who turned himself in and was booked for indecent exposure, Tucker said. “This is one of the craziest things that I’ve ever seen,” Stanford said, who has 15 years of law enforcement experience. On Friday, after Hurst was taken into custody, he sat down with a reporter to share his side of the story.
He said for the past year he’s been taking photographs of orbs, which is done at night. Orb photography can capture images of circles of light, that at times look like faces, especially on the skin, Hurst said. “I’ve got some great pictures, it’s really fascinating,” Hurst said. Initially he intended to only take off his shirt, but then took off the rest of his clothes, which he said was stupid. “I didn’t mean to expose myself to anybody and it was stupid,” Hurst said. “You never know who’s watching,” Stanford said.
Kosovo PM is Head of Human Organ Ring
guardian - Kosovo's prime minister is the head of a "mafia-like" Albanian group responsible for smuggling weapons, drugs and human organs through eastern Europe, according to a Council of Europe inquiry report on organised crime.
Hashim Thaçi is identified as the boss of a network that began operating criminal rackets in the runup to the 1998-99 Kosovo war, and has held powerful sway over the country's government since.
The report of the two-year inquiry, which cites FBI and other intelligence sources, has been obtained by the Guardian. It names Thaçi as having over the last decade exerted "violent control" over the heroin trade. Figures from Thaçi's inner circle are also accused of taking captives across the border into Albania after the war, where a number of Serbs are said to have been murdered for their kidneys, which were sold on the black market.
Legal proceedings began in a Pristina district court today into a case of alleged organ trafficking discovered by police in 2008. That case – in which organs are said to have been taken from impoverished victims at a clinic known as Medicus – is said by the report to be linked to Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) organ harvesting in 2000. It comes at a crucial period for Kosovo, which on Sunday held its first elections since declaring independence from Serbia in 2008. Thaçi claimed victory in the election and has been seeking to form a coalition with opposition parties.
Dick Marty, the human rights investigator behind the inquiry, will present his report to European diplomats from all 47 member states at a meeting in Paris on Thursday. His report suggests Thaçi's links with organised crime date back more than a decade, when those loyal to his Drenica group came to dominate the KLA, and seized control of "most of the illicit criminal enterprises" in which Kosovans were involved south of the border, in Albania.
During the Kosovo conflict Slobodan Miloševic's troops responded to attacks by the KLA by orchestrating a horrific campaign against ethnic Albanians in the territory. As many as 10,000 are estimated to have died at the hands of Serbian troops.
While deploring Serb atrocities, Marty said the international community chose to ignore suspected war crimes by the KLA, "placing a premium instead on achieving some degree of short-term stability". He concludes that during the Kosovo war and for almost a year after, Thaçi and four other members of the Drenica group named in the report carried out "assassinations, detentions, beatings and interrogations". This same hardline KLA faction has held considerable power in Kosovo's government over the last decade, with the support of western powers keen to ensure stability in the fledgling state.
The report paints a picture in which ex-KLA commanders have played a crucial role in the region's criminal activity. It says: "In confidential reports spanning more than a decade, agencies dedicated to combating drug smuggling in at least five countries have named Hashim Thaçi and other members of his Drenica group as having exerted violent control over the trade in heroin and other narcotics."
Marty says: "Thaçi and these other Drenica group members are consistently named as 'key players' in intelligence reports on Kosovo's mafia-like structures of organised crime. I have examined these diverse, voluminous reports with consternation and a sense of moral outrage."
His inquiry was commissioned after the former chief prosecutor for war crimes at the Hague, Carla Del Ponte, said she had been prevented from investigating senior KLA officials. Her most shocking claim, which she said required further investigation, was that the KLA smuggled captive Serbs across the border into Albania, where their organs were harvested.
The report, which states that it is not a criminal investigation and unable to pronounce judgments of guilt or innocence, gives some credence to Del Ponte's claims.
It finds the KLA did hold mostly Serb captives in a secret network of six detention facilities in northern Albania, and that Thaçi's Drenica group "bear the greatest responsibility" for prisons and the fate of those held in them.
They include a "handful" of prisoners said to have been transferred to a makeshift prison just north of Tirana, where they were killed for their kidneys.
The report states: "As and when the transplant surgeons were confirmed to be in position and ready to operate, the captives were brought out of the 'safe house' individually, summarily executed by a KLA gunman, and their corpses transported swiftly to the operating clinic.''
The same Kosovan and foreign individuals involved in the macabre killings are linked to the Medicus case, the report finds.
Marty is critical of the western powers which have provided a supervisory role in Kosovo's emergence as a state, for failing to hold senior figures, including Thaçi, to account. His report criticises "faltering political will on the part of the international community to effectively prosecute the former leaders of the KLA".
It concludes: "The signs of collusion between the criminal class and the highest political and institutional office holders are too numerous and too serious to be ignored.
"It is a fundamental right of Kosovo's citizens to know the truth, the whole truth, and also an indispensable condition for reconciliation between the communities and the country's prosperous future."
If as expected the report is formally adopted by the committee this week, the findings will go before the parliamentary assembly next year.
The Kosovo government tonight dismissed the allegations, claiming they were the produce of "despicable and bizarre actions by people with no moral credibility".
"Today, the Guardian published an article that referred to a report from a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Dick Marty, which follows up on past reports published over the last 12 years aiming at maligning the war record of the Kosovo Liberation Army and its leaders," it said in a statement.
"The allegations have been investigated several times by local and international judiciary, and in each case, it was concluded that such statements have were not based on facts and were construed to damage the image of Kosovo and the war of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
"It is clear that someone wants to place obstacles in the way of prime minister, Hashim Thaçi, after the general election, in which the people of Kosovo placed their clear and significant trust in him to deliver the development programme and governance of our country.
"Such despicable and bizarre actions by people with no moral credibility, serve the ends of only those specific circles that do not wish well to Kosovo and its people."
